Damn you for making me cry at work, Wil Wheaton, DAMN YOU! This movie has forever left a mark on my memories from that time in my life when the movie came out. I can't think of a high school friend who wouldn't say the same. It's so hard to believe that it's been 25 years since we all sat around talking about the movie after seeing it for the first (and second and third) time. I can't tell you how many times my husband and I have caught the movie on cable, looked at each other and said "I can't believe that's the same Jerry."

OK, so I'm going to quote Prince: "Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing we call life." Maybe it's me getting old, but somewhere along the way, I realized that life isn't all about me. OK, well it is to ME, but contrary to my own belief, it isn't to anyone else. The only way to get through this life or any other is to be aware of your fellow carbon based life forms and maybe help he, she or it get through it as well. Be nice...is it really that hard?

I had completely lost contact with my best friend from high school. Within moments of reuniting on FB, we were quoting Pee Wee's Big Adventure to each other. Yeah, it had that much impact on our lives! "There's no basement in the Alamo!"

I officially get the dumb blond moment of the day because I looked at the pic and thought "weird, why is one of those astronauts wearing a red and white shirt...and why does he look like Wil Wheaton...oh wait a minute!" *wanders off to drink copious amounts of coffee*

I'm finally at my computer so now I can finally post a comment! YAY! You beat some amazing odds by making it so far. I've been thinking about you a lot lately wondering if your little lady was in the world with us yet :) Moms like me take it for granted that getting pregnant and staying that way was pretty easy. I'm grateful that medical advancements have helped you get where you are.

Isn't that sort of self imposed sometimes or a sign maybe that you've become a little self absorbed? When I was home with my kids all day, I know it was hard to concentrate on writing while I was being asked to fetch snacks every five minutes, but I got it done. With my photography I can't help but have to interact unless I'm doing some still life. Still, when I feel myself being too absorbed with whatever I'm working on and not paying attention to my friends or family, I force myself to disconnect from the project and engage myself with the real people right in front of me. It's the only way to remain sane and not be totally friendless!

I lost count of how many times a day I ask people "well, did you call _____?" and I get a blank stare back. "No but I sent an e-mail." UGH. Better yet, I'll actually take a flight of stairs to go talk to someone in person. We all remember that don't we...actually standing face to face and talking to someone?

SIGH. Seeing all that white makes me mourn the fact that I'm in a place with no snow :( Christmas just doesn't seem the same. GREAT Flickr pics. Hooray for you making Somerset Life! I've been SOOO busy with work and all, I missed that.

BAZINGA! I didn't have the phone, but I got a paisley Swatch for Christmas in the 10th grade. I still have it...it is My Precious. I haven't found replacement batteries for it since the mid 1990's. I feel like sending it to your wife, on principal :P

Maybe the bouffant was some sort of protection...from cosmic rays seeping into Wesley's brain...or maybe to keep telepathic aliens from reading his mind? I bet it could have totally ricocheted a phaser blast.

I would miss my family like crazy too! I don't know how you do it. Coin-op laundromats...UGH. Don't miss those days. I feel for you on the ankle injury. I had arthroscopic surgery on my right ankle 2 1/2 weeks ago. The combination of the bulky walking boot (which, in a cruel irony, I haven't been given the green light to walk on) and the crutches in the 100+ degree Texas heat is going to drive me nuts. I have 13 more days of the crutches. If the doc doesn't give me the OK to walk on it as promised I might have to hurt him.

Maybe someone told him they were remaking Striptease and he was doing research to audition for the role. Whoever told him he could pull off the peasant dress and combat boot look was seriously disturbed. How 1994!

Thanks for the downloads! My four year old is learning to write and loves writing letters to her grandmothers, cousins, aunts and uncles. She'll love writing to them using those pretty stationary prints :)

I was going to say King Leonidas, because, seriously, who could pass up Gerard Butler all sweaty and in a skirt? That said, I have to go with Mr. John McLean. He knows how to get his butt kicked all over the place, over and over again and still come up with priceless one liners.

Those are beautiful banners. I especially love the top one. I am still completely basking in the glow of joy over winning the five yards. I'm STILL trying to decide what I will do with it all once I have it :) Thank you, thank you SOOOOOOO very much!!!

This year I sewed my very first Halloween costume. My daughter wanted to be a witch. I'd planned on buying the fabric while she was at preschool, but was running late that day, so I had to pick her (and her brother) up before I went fabric shopping. She decided on the spot that she wanted her dress to be made with black and white polka dots and a red satin cape. Add to that some knee high socks with rainbow bowed skull and crossbones on them. We will have the most...unusual costume this year :)

I got a cool idea from the local little bead shop that I buy my supplies from...they keep a container full of big holed beads and pipe cleaners handy for kids to play with while we shop. I picked some up for myself and when I'm making my jewlery she gets to make her own necklaces and bracelets.

I really enjoyed both articles, but mostly...I keep coming back to the picture of you in your studio and envying your space! Someday...I'll have one of those...someday...
