I can truly commiserate with you. At about this time last year I was sitting at my desk thinking two things. How did I get here? And what has this job turned me into? It was never my intention. I knew from middle school I was to be a teacher but somehow found myself after college being blinded by green and took a job with a fortune 500 company and quickly began my climb up the corporate ladder. Anyone in the corporate world knows the way to the top is to tell people what they want to hear aka be a good bullshitter! And I was pretty damn good at it but it quickly grew old and I realized I was one of the people I once hated. So late last spring I did two things. I called all my assistants and apologized to them for being such a bitch, then I quit. This past fall I started teaching 1st grade. My life changed drastically financially. I was never making big lawyer money but I am now making a third of what I was. Regardless, I have never been happier and now the biggest stress of my day is getting 23 6 year old's to line up straight and keep their hands to themselves! Are stories aren't exactly the same but I hope they have the same end result. Good luck and have a great vacation!
