Damn that's pretty. How was this not the NBA assist of the night? Choosing that crap from the Heat Bulls game is just a disservice to fans.
Rajon Rondo's sick behind-the-back pass
The best part of that pass - it was right in Ray's hands.
I'm pretending rondo read this before the game and responded with that oh so pretty 18-17-20 (WHAT?!)

Rondo was ridiculous today. Only player with multiple triple-doubles this season and we should trade him? right...

I see the (obvious) value in Paul but don't think he's worth all the hype or giving up as much as Danny seems to be willing to give. Also is no one talking about Paul's bum knee? I'll keep my tough as nails top 5 pg thank you very much. I think Simmon's take is about right: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7327616/the-fourth-day-nba-christmas
Your Morning Dump... Where Celtics & Lakers battle it out for Chris Paul
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Various executives believe that the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers are thus the two most likely landing spots for Pa...
The kid can certainly throw a football. I was at a celtics open practice a few years back and he was just gunning a football across the arena with little to no effort and every pass was on point. great to see the boston athletes banding together!
*Updated* Rondo sighting at Patriots practice
The official Twitter page of the New England Patriots just tweeted some much better, high-quality pics. Enjoy:

Sign of the apocalypse? Celtics invite us to dancer auditions
Editor's Note: The Celtics have asked us to remove our post regarding the upcoming dancer auditions while they iron out some details. We apologize for the confusion. Please visit celtics.com for the information.
but i just to clarify i'm NOT endorsing starting him over pierce, but he can split some of the minutes with paul and can make a difference for sure
Will Paul Pierce come off the bench next year?
Danny Ainge had some interesting stunning comments on WEEI: On the starting lineup changing: "Maybe there’s a change of roles. Maybe Paul comes off the bench, cuts down on his minutes. Maybe we find a way to get Jeff more minutes. His role will expand if he’s back here next year. There’s no ques...
i mean sure green wasnt great but there were definite flashes of brilliance and in okc he averaged 15pts 5reb 2ast, so he can definitely contribute. I think a full offseason with the team will make a world of difference especially for a young guy going through his first trade. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do alongside a healthy rondo next season.

That being said though far too many turnovers. Some really dumb (crosscourt) passes down the stretch.
Just do what you do
I'm going to echo Doc Rivers right now: “It would be nice to run our game plan, then at least we’d know whether what we’re doing is right or wrong,” he said. “You got to run them off threes. You can’t turn the ball over and then we just have to move the ball offensively. Those would be the thr...
I dont know if anyone else saw this but rondo pulled his back and didn't warm up with the team before the second half and was getting treatment for the rest of the game. Seeing him pick it up at the end of the game was pretty encouraging. Also what is with all the pessimism? Miami did what they were supposed to and held homecourt. If the celtics do the same it's a whole new series. A series doesn't start til someone wins on the road. Let's get some rest before game 3 and get it done.

"as every Howard blocked shot is rejected into the stands"
keep possession on your blocks dwight. then we'll talk.
Dwight's better than Russ? It's an impossible argument
Bill Russell is as untouchable a figure in Celtics lore as anyone is to any team's history. Question him or his greatness and you will incur the wrath of Celtics fans far and wide. Dare to imply that any current player can hold a candle to him and you face being stoned in the town square. I'm...
I had this exact type of injury in february and re-injured it last week, and it is one of the more painful things I have ever experienced. I was shocked that he could come back on the court last night and would say that he needs AT LEAST two weeks if not a full month off. I'd rather have him take it now than later and make sure he gets some proper rehab on that as well as re-evaluate his choice of kicks/tying. on the bright side i'm lookin forward to seeing what avery can do in the meantime.
Ainge: "[Rondo] definitely needs some time off”
Picture via Jose3030 “I think that the adrenaline was still flowing,” Ainge said. “I think that Rajon is young, and he feels fast and he loves to play, to his credit. I couldn’t believe he was back on the court last night. He wasn’t moving very well, even when he got back out on the court. Yo...

ESPN continues tongue bath of Heat
In what must be an attempt to piss off the 29 other teams in the NBA, ESPN is adding to its already over-the-top coverage of the Miami Heat. Not only will they bombard us with incessant television coverage of the Heat, but we'll also find that same drivel online. The "Heat Index" launches O...

Haha yeah I go to northeastern and this past year
they made the student section courtside. Absolutely

get that package haha.
The Summer League Roster
The Herald posted the roster along with some explanation of who some of these guys are. Semih Erden will come come in from Turkey... where he's been tucked away since being picked late in the draft a couple of years ago. His biggest skill as far as I know is not being small. Other than that...

damn...congrats thibs. thanks again for everything you've done for the celts!
This is why Thibs chose Chicago...
...Because they might be better than the Celtics next year The Chicago Bulls have a deal in place that would move Kirk Hinrich and the 17th pick to the Washington Wizards, freeing up enough cap space to pursue two maximum-salary players in this summer's free-agent market, sources with knowledge ...
So the first thing I noticed in one of the above mock drafts is that they have Crawford going 16. If he drops to 19 take him. No
questions asked, the kid hit some huge shots in the tourney and as much as it pains me to say it his brother is a beast.

Man the thought of losing any of
the big 3 sucks but I don't think I could deal with Pierce playing in any other uniform. That thought alone (especially right now) is WAY too much.

well in addition to the many warm replies you've already gotten here, even if the lakers do overtake the celts in championships the celts are still the greatest one town franchise in the NBA. also all this talk about 22 years, um where are you guys post kobe? he has maybe 5 years left in him probably less. come on now. get real.also after this post season (aka the summer of lebron) the entire NBA heirarchy will likely shift especially if you get two superstars on one team. then we're all screwed haha.
PS isn't the phrase true laker fan an oxymoron?

there were bad calls both ways the whole series. no one is disputing that. I think we are just all a bit put off by how lopsided that fourth quarter was but in the end this one is not on the refs at all but on the celts. it was theirs to lose and they couldnt quite hold on. congrats lakers.
