I've loved following along with her in past creative assignments and even joined in this past fall making a new pillow. This year she's kicking the series off with a new name... And, the first assignment...... Continue reading

It's been a while since I've just checked in here to share a little moment...mostly because of Instagram...But, I was just flipping through some of our photos and came across these fun pictures. We gave Henry a mini street hockey set for Christmas, pairing that with hockey sticks leftover from... Continue reading

The next round of Kids Clothes Week is quickly approaching and while I'm not quite certain what I'll be making just yet, or, in fact, how much I'll be participating, I really really love this season's theme...Upcycling! I love to upcycle things into clothes for Violet and Henry! In fact,... Continue reading

I had so many things that I had hoped to make for Violet and Henry for Christmas. Each of them were in need of some new winter clothes and I had some new patterns that I wanted to use. The list was sort of my own "Christmas wishlist" for them.... Continue reading

I hadn't really planned on making any new Christmas outfits for either child this year. Violet seemed content to wear last year's skirt and Henry finally realized that these pants are awesome and that this tie and this vest would accompany them perfectly for the holidays. Hooray, Christmas outfits done... Continue reading

Hahaha, that's totally kind of how I felt! (And totally loved it!) It is so funny to me to see the side by sides...b/c after being heavy for so long it's sometimes hard for me to remember that I am no longer that person! I actually love the Josephine on me still too...especially since it has a belt...but man it looks totally different! ;) And, you are right the Wikstens aren't too bad, the only problem is that they are kind of shapeless AND big which makes them feel a bit mumu like on me :( The Odette...I'm not sure what to do with that yet...not sure a belt is the only solution because my boobs got so small even in the last two months so that part looks a little weird :( But, yay! I am excited to make some new things! :)
Thank you Laura! I was seriously surprised at how quickly it came off and how easy it was! I'm thinking that I might try to alter some of the handmades...but yes, I'm excited about making new ones too! :)
Oh April thank you so much! It was about time I got rid of my baby weight...oof...Henry is 4 1/2!!! I am excited about sewing new things...I think it'll be fun! Good luck to you in attaining your goal as well (you look fab now BTW!) you can totally do it!
Thank you! And, For sure!! Seriously I need to get out there to visit with you AND Finch!!! :)
Thank you Laura! :) I do agree that there are a few that still look ok on me...the belt on the Josephine helps! And, the lane still looks cute as a tunic style...I wished my Wikstens didn't feel so much like mumus on me though :(
Thank you Monica! I agree that some of the clothes don't look bad, the Josephine in particular with it's belt and the raglan...the wikstens don't look terrible, but those are the ones that make me feel a little like I'm wearing a mumu :( But, yay for being able to make new clothes that fit, where to start ... ;)
Thank you Courtney! :) I should have probably not been sewing for myself sooner...but I never really honestly thought that this was ever in the cards for me! It's so nice to be back running isn't it! Good luck with giving my fitness pal...I really thought it was just the right thing for me! ( are way ahead of me getting back to fighting weight...I mean goodness my youngest is 4 1/2!!! what the heck was I waiting for?) You've totally got this! :)
Thank you Annika! I wished that I known that I was planning on loosing weight earlier this year ;) HA! (It always just seemed so unattainable!) Good luck to you in attaining your goal too! I know you can you it, you are off to an excellent start! :) Bravo!
Last week I posted a little "year in review" post for 2014 but, I left out all of the sewing for me I did throughout the year... (sun-dyed skirt, wrap skirt, josephine, odette, tea towel skirt, sparkly skirt, archer, shades of me, lady skater, ladies caroline, city gym shorts, lane... Continue reading

This past September we headed back to the Honey Festival to admire the bees, taste sweet honey and meet up with the Moxies. We also bought a great big block of heavenly smelling beeswax. I had honestly forgotten about this hunk of beeswax until I was doing a little tidying... Continue reading
