HI Everyone. Happy Wednesday. I have a quick post for you tonight. I decided to play along at the "Inspired by the LIttle Things" challenge - I love the photo - pity I missed the challenge cut off.... but I couldn't help but make a card! Aren't thos stained glass feathers just gorgeous? I pulled out my old Papertrey Ink Feather Finery and decided to go with a rainbow of colors for the feathers.... although I was really tempted to go with the turquoise and reds from the inspiration photo. I had to find a way to incorporate the wonderful... Continue reading

HI Everyone. Happy Tuesday. Hope you are all having a great week. I have a quick card for you tonight based on the challenge across at one of my favorite challenge sites - Inkspirational. I'm just sorry that I don't get to play along more often these days! Now.... I have VERY few small stamps, but remembered that I had a set from the Hero Arts Monthly card kit that would be perfect. It comprises of many multiple small stamps that I was able to group together to create a scene. There's a story behind this card :-) I wanted... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a clean and simple theme challenge: I decided to have a little fun with this challenge. I haven't used my crazy emu stamp for a while and decided it was time to dust him off and give him some crazy hair. I inked up my stamp with markers using a mixture of reds, greens and yellows. Instead of the normal black ink, I used Altenew's Industrial Diamond - a really nice grey. I huffed and puffed onto the stamp to re-wet it and... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday. I hope you are all having a great start to the week. I have the last of my Altenew Educator Certification Program cards to share with you tonight. My card was inspired by the second lesson in Clean, Simple & Colorful Techniques class taught by the fabulous Laura Bassen. This particular lesson focused on coloring with a blending tool and then adding detail with Copic markers. Hey.... when ever do I need to have an excuse to make a card using Copic markers and the flicking technique :-) I started by stamping the images for my... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Nance's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a color challenge: So....this color combo was a huge challenge for me. Crumb cake?!!! I never use Crumb Cake and I don't have Lemon Lime Twist - or Calypso Coral :-) So, I had to go looking through my supplies and find the closest things that I could. Next.... what stamps to use? I spent a few minutes - well about 20 in total! Going through my stash and trying to work out what to use. In the end, I couldn't... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Oh.... I have ANOTHER non-floral card for you tonight! Of course, that means that I am overdue sharing a floral card :-) This is the penultimate card for the Level 3 Altenew Educator Certification Program. I can't believe that I am almost at the end! One of the classes was "Sentiments with Impact". I took insipiration from one of the lessons that showcased multi-colored sentiments. I needed a birthday card and decided this was the perfect opportunity to bring out one of my die-cuts and use a mixture of green, blue and gold on a stacked sentiment. I... Continue reading

HI Everyone. Happy Tuesday. I have a quick post for you tonight. This is the card that I made for my Altenew Educator Certification Program Level 3 class - Creative Watercolor Media. One of the lessons was to use shimmer sprays as the watercolor medium. I don't have a lot of sprays..... actually I have 3 :-) So, those three colors dictated the colors for the card! I know..... back to florals... I can just hear you all :-) I didn't use to create a lot of floral cards until Altenew came along. So it's all their fault :-) But... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Monday. Sorry about the ear worm :-) 10 green bottles hanging on a wall... or in my case 5 pink bottles sitting on a card :-) As you have probably guessed, I have another non-floral card for you tonight! This one is for one of the final classes I had to do for the Altenew Educator Certification Program - called 'Tis the Season. I decided to make a card inspired the the wonderful Laura Bassen's lesson where she used a co-ordinating die to create a shaker card and I combined that with her other lesson - using... Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great theme for use: Oh... I had so many ideas for this.. but in the end settled for an old stamp set that I have had in my stash for several years. It's an old set from Fun Stampers Journey and has these cute little birds in it. As I needed to make a "thanks for taking me away" card for Lou, I thought it would be perfect to use them for this card. Lou's favorite color is Celeste... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Thursday. I have the second card that I created from the Muse class across at Altenew. I really enjoyed this class. You can check out the first card that I made at this link. When I was looking through the inspiration photos that Carissa shared - I fell in love with this amazing cake. Now.... my regular blog readers will know that pink... and purple.... are NOT colors that I generally gravitate to. However, there was something about this particular photograph that had me enraptured! I love the ombre from the deep rich purple/brown to the palest... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday, I have just a couple more classes to take before I have to take the final for my Altenew Educator Certification Program. I passed level 1 and level 2 and am now working on level 3. One of the classes that I elected to take was Muse. What a great class. I think this was my favorite class so far. I often have brain freezes when it comes to layout and colors and Carissa does an amazing job of explaining how to find inspiration in so many areas. Not only does she talk about it -... Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a challenge that is REALLY close to my heart :-) This challenge could not have come at a better time! I was finishing up my Altenew Educator Certification Program Level 2 final and needed to make a card to work with my home decor project. You can imagine how happy I was when I saw Laurie's challenge. Florals. Clean and Simple. Oh! Yeah! Perfect to finish off my AECP project. Let's begin with the card and work backwards. Those of... Continue reading

Happy Sunday and Happy Mother's Day to all of you Moms out there :-) It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a color challenge for us: I have to tell you... this color scheme scared the heck out of me! :-) they are such bright colors and the thought of putting pumpkin and strawberry together threw me completely. So, imagine my surprise when I realized I had such fun working with them! Although my flowers might not be the most conventional - I still like how bright and sunny and cheerful... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Ceal's turn to host our Addicted to CAS Challenge this week and she has a perfectly timed code-word for us: My Mom has been gone for 33 years, but I did think of her when I made this card. Blue was her favorite color and she loved pearls - and flowers! So, even though this card went into the Altenew Parent's Day card drive, I did design it for my Mom. The Chrysanthemum stamp and die comes from an Altenew Build a Flower set and this one is unique in that it cut's... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Nance's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great theme for us: This challenge was perfect for me. Tea is MY drink. I take after my Dad on this one. I like my tea strong - really strong. None of that weak stuff with tepid water and a teabag that has been dipped in it a couple of times :-) I drink Irish Breakfast or Assam that have been steeping for about 5 minutes. Just a little bit of milk. In Britain, a good cup of tea... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Monday and greetings from Minnesota where it is currently.... wait for it..... 70 degrees!!!! It has been a glorious day! I have a couple of cards that I made for the Altenew Parents Card drive. One of my favorite ever sets from Stampin' Up! is Wetlands. Although it is retired, it is one of the sets that will stay in my collection forever :-) I decided to use it and make a couple of simple Father's Day cards. I used some old card stock from my stash to add a little color to the bases. I made... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a Tic Tac Toe for us: I decided we had seen more than enough PURPLE! these last couple of weeks, so it was wonderful to have an excuse to go with yellow! I went vertical - left column - yellow, birthday and flowers. I began by stamping the Enchanted Iris onto a piece of hot pressed watercolor paper and then used my zig markers to color the flowers. I had seen photos of these amazing bright yellow iris with red... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Carolyn's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has a color code word for us! Now.... most of us girls love gold... so I was happy to have an excuse to pull out my wonderful Kuretake shimmery metallic watercolor paints! I started by heat embossing the flower and then add the watercolor gold to the flowers and leaves. It was a really easy card to create. I mounted the front panel onto a piece of Shimmer Gold card stock from Stampin' Up! I love this card stock and... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. Where has this week gone?!!! It's my turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week and I have a sketch for you. I needed a support card and the Altenew Hope set was perfect. I wanted to keep the background very clean and simple. That way the focus would be on the sentiment and the focal image. It was such an easy card to put together. To add a little bit of shimmer and shine, I added some foil to the middle of the flower by covering the dots from the stamp with a glue... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Monday. Greetings from an exceptionally snowy Minneapolis. But more about that later! I completed the final project for my final class of the Altenew Educator Certification Program. YAY... :-) and today's card is for that final class. The class is Polychromatic and one of the lessons is to create a card using pastels and no line coloring with Copic markers. This was a lesson that was very close to my heart. I love coloring, but still find no-line coloring tough, so it was really good to have an excuse to do some practice for my final class... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. It's the fabulous Sandy's turn to host our Paper Players challenge for us this week and she has a wonderful theme for us: Now, I love this theme.... but I am totally in love with Nance's amazing badge this week! I really wanted to make an interactive card and decided to make a shaker card using some old Martha Stewart sequins from my stash. I stamped the fairy image and colored it with my Copic markers. I then cut out an oval from fun foam and added the sequins inside it to cover the fairy. I then mounted... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Anja's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and this is her code word is The design team have a very varied set of cards for you using this code word :-) I decided to go with an old stencil and some sponging. It allowed me to create a soft background I decided to pair this with a nice glittery, glimmery sentiment from the Altenew Holiday Script die. Who says that wishes can't be something other than Christmas :-) I had originally intended to leave the die-cut sentiment silver, but... Continue reading
