Flynn has been groomed in the Fins new O by the new HC for a few yrs and he has it down pat. This is the same exact philosophy they used on Rodgers and that worked out pretty well. Packer fans and the media thought the success was because of the mighty Favre. If the new staff pushes to get Flynn I am confident that he has the right stuff. Being a Dolfan since I was 9 yrs old in 66 I hope he has " IT " Good luck Fins , don't know how many season I have left.
RG3 talks to the Dolphins, runs fast PLUS Chiefs may also chase Peyton Manning
A quickie update of the happenings out of Indianapolis at this hour: First, Robert Griffin III had the usual 15-minute meeting with several teams this weekend. The Dolphins were one of those teams. This doesn''t guarantee the Dolphins are going to trade the farm to move up and get RG3. But it do...
At first wasn't sure about Flynn until I watched two different tapes. Watched the Lions game very closely and he has mastered the Fins new WCO. The decision making wasn't just fast it was immediate , the ball was on the receiver before the DB could react. The accuracy on the long ball totally blew me away. I am a believer , MF is a West Coast offense MAESTRO!! With this coaching staff I would put big bucks up that he will be our cherished franchise QB.

The guy who said Tannehill sucks either didn't see him play or didn't understand what he saw. The Aggies dropped more catch able balls than any team in Div 1. He was always playing catch up because of a D that got worse as the game progressed.
Dolphins win coin toss vs. Carolina
The Dolphins this morning won the coin toss against the Carolina Panthers and will have the eighth overall selection in the April draft. The Panthers, who shared a 6-10 record with Miami, will have the ninth overall selection. I would say this is great news in that it gives the Dolphins a better...
For the moment I am on the Coples bandwagon at #8. As a DE in a 4-3 and with the players already here the Fins could have a dominant D Line. Starks and Odrick have the ability to be great DTs. The Giants did did a pretty good job in the SB with that defensive philosophy against a team that has given us problems for yrs.
Dolphins win coin toss, plus 10 other NFL Combine tidbits
Friday morning update: The Dolphins have won the coin toss with Carolina early this morning and will pick eighth in the first round of the April 26 draft. Carolina will pick ninth. Among the players the Dolphins could be choosing from: North Carolina defensive end Quinton Coples, Iowa offensive ...
The consistently good team in the NFL are the ones who acquire draft picks not trade them away. The Giants won the SB because they had the most balanced team at about 80% of the positions. In both SB wins the pass rush was just as important as the QB. Address the QB in FA and make the pass rush better and get BPA in the draft.
The Dolphins offseason plan? Possible version here
Jeff Ireland has "a plan" for the offseason. He isn't giving details of what that plan is. He has no intention of unveiling it for public scrutiny to the point where he told Dolphins coaches not to even talk about quarterbacks or needs or free agency during their recent media availability. Makes...
The last few days the out of town commentators are saying Manning should go to the Fins because they are ready to take the next step. If he can win a SB for for the Dolfans I'm all for it. I love RG3 but giving up a ton of picks only works about 10% of the time. The last one was Falcons doing it for Julio Jones. They made the POs but the holes at OL&DB is what got they're a*# handed to them.
Dolphins complete coaching staff
The Miami Dolphins today named Blue Adams as assistant defensive backs coach, Charlie Bullen as defensive assistant, Ben Johnson as offensive assistant, Chris Mosley as assistant offensive line coach and also retained running backs coach Jeff Nixon, thus completing coach Joe Philbin’s staff for ...
If Ross signs Manning to sell tickets then he has not learned anything in his short time as owner. Listen to the GM and HC and to what is right. You own a team with young talent so go with a QB in they're prime , MM and Flynn. Let's build a contender for the next decade and not a QB to sell tickets who is over the hill.
I'm a salmon swimming upstream on the Manning issue
INDIANAPOLIS -- The Dolphins are going to chase Peyton Manning if he becomes available in free agency. That is already decided. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross loves the idea of Manning and has established him as the offseason quarterback priority. Manning first. Matt Flynn second. Drafting a quarte...
ctphins: If they sign Manning they keep MM. I think that would be too much coin for a starter and #2 QB. Moore won't command the contract that Flynn will , that's a big reason why I believe in my opinion.

MM is very underrated and has the accuracy to succeed in the WC. Flynn has been groomed at the NFL level by the new HC. They would create an exciting competition at the position that has frustrated Dolfans since Dan The Man. We have a lot of great young talent and need a young QB in his prime so the Fins can be the dominate team for the next decade. Ireland has a lot of haters but in his first draft in charge he chose players that are going very good to great starters.
Assessing Dolphins' free agent options on offense, plus other notes
SUNDAY BUZZ COLUMN With the Dolphins trying to upgrade their offense – especially at quarterback, right tackle, right guard and tight end – here’s some early chatter on their options and potential fits when free agency begins March 13: ### Quarterback: The timetable could be tricky, with Peyton ...
Flynn and Moore have been groomed at the NFL level. If the HC says sign Flynn then do it , no one knows him better than Philbin. Moore has one yr on contract and he will not command big bucks. Moore has the accuracy to succeed in a WC O. Two good to great QBs are better than one.

Ireland has made good picks & signing in his 1st yr without the tuna. He didn't reach for a QB like other teams and he got good value with draft picks. Reggie Bush fooled me but not him.
Dolphins announce more assistants hired
The Dolphins have just announced the hiring of Lou Anarumo as their defensive backs coach, Phil McGeohan as their assistant wide receivers coach and Ken O'Keefe as their wide receivers coach. As is no surprise, Brian Daboll, the offensive coordinator in 2011, has accepted the job to be offensive...
Flynn might have only started two games but has been in the system and developed just like Rodgers. With Flynn and Moore competing against each other one will rise to the top. The time is now not the time to bring in a rook.
Miami's 'intimate knowledge' a good thing
Work with me on this ... The Dolphins hired Joe Philbin as their head coach. He was the offensive coordinator at Green Bay and so one supposes he is familiar with Green Bay reserve quarterback Matt Flynn, who is expected to be available as a free agent this offseason as he searches for a startin...
The Fins have a strong foundation of young players who are continuing to rise. Philbin backed in to a great situation , Fisher is scruwed by his agent steering him to the team his bro works for. Ireland is hated but has put young talent in place that will improve more than what we saw in the 2nd half of the 2011 season. The west coast offense will be different than anything in the East and can compete with Belicheat's genius.
Dolphins continue coach hires, must answer questions

Nolan should have at least been considered for HC. He had HC exp and it was his play calling that put the worst beat down that the Sanchise ever had.

Vincent Jackson over BM ? Jackson is 2 times worse off the field and in the locker room.
Why Marshall's MVP award in Pro Bowl matters
Brandon Marshall was ballin' late Sunday afternoon. The Dolphins wide receiver took over the Pro Bowl and scored four touchdowns -- on catches of 74, 29, 47 and 3 yards -- and set a record with six catches for 176 yards. No biggie, right? It's only the Pro Bowl, right? Nobody cares about the Pro...
The two most successful franchises are NE and PIT , it's no coincidence they both use the same system. They develop young players, when those players become FAs and are commanding more $ than they are worth they are traded. They don't over spend on FAs from other teams. The Fins have done this on D,young players that are going to get better despite making mistakes that young players make. As for this yrs lack of O the only difference that I see from last yr is on the OL.
Ireland on Pat White, Henne-Marshall relationship
Dolphins related tweets and blogs lately have been discussing what really happened in the Pat White situation in the spring of 2009, with the suggestion that all the blame fell on one party or another party for making what is a lingering and painful miss for the Dolphins on the player personnel ...
Stop revolving door on OL. Smiley( chronic shoulder ) Grove( Mainly high salary ) Thomas who instantly signed as Lions #2 OG. Then when Garner went to IR things got worse quick and Proctor hurt an OL that already had zero depth. Need a speed RB and TE. There is some speed at WR with Hartline , when he went down Beast and Bess had DBs in they're back pockets. Moore and Wallace have great speed but are young and very raw( need a good WR coach ). Please get a solid veteran QB , I was against VY but now all for it. I think he will go all out to prove Fisher wrong and make offense much more dynamic. Keep Henne because like VY he lost confidence , in his case no pass protection and high ceiling. Keep Brandstater , there is a lot of potential there and he has a lot of practice throwing to beast when they were Broncos.
Dolphins in the market for a RB and TE coach
The Dolphins don't just have one offensive coaching job to fill, they have as many as three because they are in the market for a running back coach and a tight end coach as well as a quarterback coach. I have learned running back coach James Saxon is gone from the staff for reasons that, well, h...
OL problems = a run game not even close to previous two yrs and Henne regressed. That's no coincidence. A lot of focus needed on the OL like resigning Incognito and better research on OL draft. Pray for recovery of Nate Garner so he can move to RT and move Big Vern to LG. Incognito move to center where he can be more effective and Berger to RG where he is definitely more comfortable.
Daboll: All QB options on table, will do whatever it takes
Tony Sparano says he spent 55 hours and talked to five people about the job and he and Jeff Ireland did a lot of homework searching for "somebody that had a really clear vision and shared the same thoughts that I might have for where we want to go offensively. Somebody that came in with an excit...
