Preach. I still believe in this girl too. Tennis is very much her thing. The talent is still there, it never faded away. What did fade away was her mental strength under pressure. Her record this season at crucial moments (5-5 or Tiebreak) is abysmal. However, she's only conceded 2 or fewer games in countless matches this same season. I believe all she needs is to win a tight match again to give her confidence and get the ball rolling again.

Wonderful post. I totally share your sentiments as a fan. It's been a little over 24 hours but it still stings a lot. I was incredibly heartbroken for her after Makarova hit that winner to win the match and I've been in a depressive mode all day long. She was playing well, I thought, and to lose after all that work just made me feel devastated. Hopefully this won't have a big impact on her, mentally speaking, and she continues to work hard because it'll eventually pay off and there's still so much to be played for this season. Like others have already said, her fight in that 3rd set was so inspiring and BEAUTIFUL to watch. She was so clutch, she wouldn't have saved those 3765 match points 1-2 years ago. I may or may not have already gone to YT to watch her saving them with some gutsy play (bc when it was happening live I was too scared to watch, was peeking through my fingers). Was good stuff and I felt so proud that she went down fighting. Macaroni was like a Russian Wozniacki, such a freaking wall. So annoying. Now she better keep up with that form or people (namely, me) will be piiiiissed.

I'm very glad she got an extra day to heal those abs and practice. Hopefully as the days go by, she'll be practicing that serve more often and getting the confidence back in that shot.
