The cantilever on that control tower is a bit freaky. Wonder what the extra space was used for.

My mother owns one of these... it's the same blue as the one pictured above. I've never driven it, but the engine feels powerful enough. I will say that the interior finish looks extremely cheap. I don't know if they used stainless steel inside, but it looks like it's made of plastic. It has the same silly interior pieces from the same generation Mustang. It's not the best-looking car to ride in.

I loved the T-tops in my Datsun. All the benefits of a convertible with none of the hassle.

You noticed the blinged-out MGB too? I've heard jokes about car owners buying every accessory in the JC Whitney catalog... I never thought I'd see the same thing from Victoria British. I bet those seats came from a Miata. He's got speakers in the headrest. Here are my pictures. They weren't very good because it was too crowded to get good photos by the time I arrived. http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff68/kayaktn/2012%20Nashville%20British%20Car%20Club%20Show/

Great pictures. That white Rambler is beautiful.

I made it to the show in 2010 and got some decent pictures. Maybe with all this rain, Centennial Park will be green and not brown.

I should be back in time for this year's Nashville British Car Club show on October 13 (or is the 11th?). I'll definitely be stopping by with my camera.

I'll think about it. I'm going to stop by the State Fair when I get to Dallas, so maybe something interesting will happen.

Summer can't be over. I haven't taken a vacation yet. I'm driving the MG from Nashville to Dallas and looking forward to it.

I have an itch to trick out a T&C into a cross-country 1- or 2-person camper. I might do it some day, but I haven't had a vacation since 2006 and I already have two cars and a truck.

The last time I saw one of those was shortly after they stopped building them. My neighborhood was full of Thunderbirds and Chevelles, so I never experienced once of these in person.

I owned both the 2+2 and the 2-seater. I absolutely loved the 2+2's higher rear-end gearing (3.7) coupled to the Nissan 5-speed. It was Heaven. I just didn't care for the roof treatment they gave the car. I bought a 2-seater to replace it but unfortunately spent my money on one with an automatic transmission and lost it to a fuel leak fire before I could finish swapping in the 5-speed from the other car. I did test drive a 280Z. Maybe it was this particular car, but I didn't care for it. But I miss my 280ZX and I'm a glutton for punishment... I think I may buy another.

I had an '84 Honda Shadow with a shaft drive system. It was the smoothest-running motorcycle I've ever driven. Didn't hurt that it only had 10k on it when I bought it. Man, I sure miss that bike.

Style-wise, I prefer the previous generation Chevrolet/GMC trucks, but I grew up driving and using this model for most of my life. My father owned an original 1977 Suburban for 15 years. It must have had 200,000 miles on it at the time. I remember many a road trip in it, being squeezed in the back seat along with my brother and sister for summer vacation from Tennessee to Sarasota, FL and everywhere in between. After it was sold, we found it nearly a decade later at a public park on the west side of town. It still looked brand new. I bought a basic Silverado with some money I had come into after an accident with another car... I remember the engine being wheezy and under-powered, but that could have had something to do with the leaking intake manifold that I never fixed. There wasn't a single body panel on it that didn't have some sort of dent or dent on it. It fogged up in the rain and it drank gas but it was simple to keep running. My brother moved back to Tennessee from Ohio this year and brought his rusted, dented jalopy 1987 Chevrolet with him. Did they paint these trucks in any color other than red? He had a similar-vintage Blazer but he must have sold it because he didn't bring it with him.

And I'm thankful for Car Lust even if my last boss looked at me funny after checking the internet logs at work.

I'm thankful for Anthony's Mustang II as well. :D It may not sound like much, but I'm thankful I have a job. There's a lot of people that can't say that today. Four months of nothing after getting laid off from my last employer and I finally got some new digs.

Eh. It was okay. Not good, not great, but it wasn't awful. The Buzz Aldrin interview (and subsequent track laps) were honestly the most boring thing I've seen on any TG program. This guy is what, pushing 90? Tanner Foust? Not interesting, mostly because I think the whole 'drifting' thing is garbage and a silly fad. Adam Ferrara? Where did Adam Carolla go? Stop laughing at your own jokes. It's not cute. Rutledge Wood seems to be the only one on the show with a personality so far... at least he cracks a good joke once in a while. The Lamborghini segment was okay. I kinda laughed when Wood started ragging on Foust for coming in a whole one-mile-per-hour slower than him. Jalopnik claims the series gets better in the later episodes. I'm looking forward to watching the Thunderbloat crash around a dirt course even though I've already watched it on YouTube, and they repeat the cheap-cars-filled-with-water stunt with at least one old Buick. Should be fun, but I hope they can come up with something different than the UK show.

I remember Sunday dinners growing up. Us kids got margarine because it was cheap and you could buy it in bulk, while my dad was always served butter with his meal. Ah, memories.

I remember reading your Miata article... it honestly changed my mind about them. I love the green and tan color combination with the wood steering wheel. Congratulations on a beautiful car.

"Our "You Shouldn't Be Here Because You're Not A British Car" acclaim was shared by these two upstarts..." Heh. I drove my 280ZX to the show. I got a thumbs-up from a couple people even though I felt like an interloper. Some little boy loved my car -- I got a kick out of his reaction. I do have antique plates on the front of the car from the previous owner... they're a great bargain, but you're limited to driving on the weekends.
