Hey.....let's not forget Princess Fiona...she was turned into an ogre forever on Shrek! She's WHITE, by the way. Get a grip, AFRIMERICAN and stop interpreting everything as racism. Hmm....doesn't that actually make YOU the racist?
Disney's Princess Tiana: How big a deal is this?
Somewhere, in another universe, excitement has been building for the new Disney movie that features Princess Tiana. I say another universe because I have a son, no daughters. And I'm white. So when Disney announced that it was featuring its first African-American princess in an upcoming movie, T...
Bouledoux.....I agree with you that parents do help form their kids' eating habits. However, since you're placing the blame on the parents in your post, why do you keep referring to the children as "brats"? They're just bahaving, as you point out, as they've been taught. Are you a child-hater?
The carrot or the stick? Here’s what to do when neither works
If you thought pre-schoolers were hard to convince to eat their vegetables, just wait until your kids get to high school. It doesn’t get any easier. A new report from the CDC indicates it’s even harder. According to the study, only 13 percent of U.S. high school students get at least 3 serving...
Good point, Hal. And Congressman Joe Wilson was accurate as well...and THAT should count for something too. Unfortunately, media bias leans overwhelmingly to the left and our beloved president gets a free ride every single time. It must be embarrassing to be a journalist these days.
Barack Obama-Kanye West-jackass story: Watch those tweets
President Barack Obama said what a lot of people were thinking when he called Kanye West a "jackass" for interrupting Taylor Swift at an MTV awards show Sunday night. The president, however, made the comment in an off-the-record moment with CNBC, which was interviewing him. An ABC reporter overh...
I agree with everything you said, Emanuel. The children are the innocent victims in this situation. However, the boy who drew this picture is 16 years old I am not under the impression that he was born in this country...they are migrant workers. It's true that not every country is as blessed as ours. We still need to enforce our laws and, hopefully, we can open our doors to many more immigrants, legally, in the future.
Farm workers: Mother's Day message to Mrs. Obama
IMMIGRANT MOTHER'S DAY. Painting by Mario Pérez protests the separation of families due to immigration enforcement. (Courtesy of Farmworkers Association of Florida). The local farm workers group sent First Lady Michelle Obama a Mother’s Day message that doesn’t exactly say Happy Mother’s Day....
Absolutely, Kathy! That was my first thought as well. Let's just call them what they really are....ILLEGAL ALIENS. These children need to place the blame on the very people who truly created this situation they're in....their parents for coming to the United States illegally.

Everyone keeps saying how they disagree that Allison was "sent home". She wasn't sent home, people. She was voted off. If you want someone to stay, you need to vote for them. As for Danny (who happens to be my favorite), I didn't judge him on one performance. He's been consistently good this season and had one really bad night. I don't think he plans on being a rocker anyway. Adam does have an amazing voice, but he's so incredibly predictable it's almost excruciating.
'American Idol': Another one bites the dust -- the wrong one, too
More than 64 million votes were cast this week in "American Idol" -- the greatest number ever outside a finale show. Host Ryan Seacrest said tonight that the three finalists would be announced at random. Kris Allen was the first to learn he was safe. Adam Lambert was the second. Danny Gokey was ...
Bunky....so you are upset about a shark dying, but you're hoping a human being dies? What kind of twisted logic is that?
Giant shark caught off Florida coast; angler stirs controversy
An earlier version of this article misstated the location of Boca Grande. A Florida fisherman may have set another world record when he reeled in a massive 1,000-plus pound shark at Boca Grande Pass on Tuesday. Bucky Dennis of Port Charlotte in southwest Florida single-handedly caught the 13-...
Here's what I think happens...when people leave each week, their "voters" have to somewhere. Most people who cast their votes for Matt, Anoop, etc. who've already left the show would probably not cast votes for Adam, since he's the one in the remaining group who is most un-like those who've gone. That, in itself, would make Adam's percentages decrease each week. Just my opinion. I, personally, think Adam's quality is great. However, I know by now exactly what he's going to do with a song - no matter the genre - and predicability isn't a good thing even if you're an amazing singer. He needs to let America see that he's capable of completing a song without screaming half of it and he may win over some of the voters from those who've gone before.
'American Idol': The field has been reduced to four -- after a shock
SPOILER ALERT: After fans casts more than 47 million votes, "American Idol" reduced the field to four finalists tonight. The ejectee wasn't such a surprise. Matt Giraud, who had been saved by judges once, got the boot. The surprise: Kris Allen and Adam Lambert were in the bottom three with Mat...
