Definitely need more underwear shots here people.
As for "Rafa's confused Josh Harnett"? I think that's supposed to be his acting. Hilarious!
Why So Much Clothes?
I have thoughts. This is for underwear, right? Yeah, so I'm gonna need more underwear shots. Putting Rafa in a Candian Tuxedo will never ever sell underwear. Rafa's confused "Josh Hartnett" at the end made me snort my beer. Thanks for posting, Down The Line.
Tsonga looked good today. His serve was amazing! I am really glad Rafa lost (a "strategic" loss, I suppose) today because he desperately needs some home time. He was probably dreaming of a couple of wild nights in Mallorca while watching Jo's aces whiz by. Good for him. He sure deserves a few days' rest before heading to Wimbledon. (And Bravo to him for giving the crowd three sets!)
British To The Bone.
This is James Ward. He's British (regardless of whether he's winning or losing). He's three months older than Andy Murray, his pop is a cab driver, he trains with a cage fighter, and he's ranked #216. He beat Stan, SamQ, and a French dude this week and is now a semifinalist at Queens. WHUUU...
I keep saying to myself, "When is the last time Fed beat Rafa in a major final (not counting WTF)?" Then I answer, "Wimbledon, 2007." Then I say, "When is the last time Fed beat Rafa at RG?" Then I answer, "Never." Then I say, "How old is Fed?" Then I answer, "Almost 30?" Then I say, "It ain't happening. Not on Rafa's watch." Vamos, Nadal!
GOAT vs. GORC. GULP.
I am just...so not looking forward to this. I just feel like this is destiny for Fed. It already hurts. Rafa took care of a very game Andy Murray on Friday. I'm proud of Andy. He chipped his tooth, he tore his ankle, and he's Andy Murray. He really could have just thrown in the towel ...
I'm very happy that Rafa won yet another clay tournament. So what if he's great on clay! (They were just talking about Rafa losing his mojo back at IW and Miami.)
Normal may be boring to some, but it is much better than having a "Roland Garros 2009" redux.
Lather, rinse, repeat and vamos, Rafa!
Yawn. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
Rafa played Daveed in the final. Redux. Rafa beat Daveed in straight sets. Redux. Rafa further solidified that he is a hoss on clay. Redux. I wish I could say it was all entertaining but inevitability just isn't my brand of entertainment. But, you know, carry on, Rafa. It's not like I'...
I say, "ride the wave" for heaven's sake. He did skip Barcelona last year and he'll get a week off before Madrid, so have at it! If he loses, it's no biggie. Better to lose sooner than later.
Vamos, Master of MC!
The Master of Monte Carlo.
It's kind of like being the Count of Monte Cristo. But with fewer sandwiches. Something tells me that with Rafa, the seventh one feels just as good as the first one. A day after dropping a set to a cortisoned Andy Murray (the first set he's dropped on clay in over a year, I believe), Rafa ...
Those David Ferrer photos are soooo beautiful. Talk about an inspired photo shoot! Love the sepia tones, the big watch and the glasses! Thanks so much. :-)

Quick news roundup: Kim out for a month, Nole and Sod withdraw from Monte Carlo, Dinara's done busted her back again, and Jo and Winogradsky split. Bummer, as Eric was super super hot. Holy crap. Andy Murray speaks. And says things. That are...significant. Seriously, great interview. I am ...

He's so purdy. Love him. And Vera. Go team!
Pic This: Sergey, Sergey, Sergey. Literally.
WERK. (Pics: Forty Deuce)
Maybe Fer is saving himself for Davis Cup. Or maybe he just wanted to get out of "Dangertown" alive. Who knows what's going on in that pretty little fauxhawked head?
In any case, I still love love love that photo!
Real Tennis Is Hard.
"For me that's not a real match in tennis. I hope to play soon against him in clay court to show him what it is to play tennis, and play rallies, and run, and not [just] serve." -- Fernando Verdasco, after losing to Milos for the second time in four days in Memphis. Bellucci d. Verdasco, 62 ...
I really love it too. And her. She's a great "tennis personality." Now I just wish I just knew some German.
She Makes Music, You Guys. Like, Real Actual Music.
No joke, I really love it.
Thanks for "living the dream" and sharing it with us!
And yes, we too have DD "coffee" here in Florida. It used to be quite good. When I asked the manager what happened, he told me that they changed the formula (watered it down) in 2008, so now it is very very not good. And no longer "coffee."
C Note Goes a Slammin'.
After the rough day of New Haven quarterfinals I decided to bypass the semifinals and take the train down to New York to get the lay of the land in Flushing Meadows and catch some qualie action. I rustled my way out of bed to hop on the 9am train with my iPod, journal, and horrible styrofoam ...
He is Rafa! (And that's why we love him!)
"I Am Rafa." Now With Video.
Love love love the title. (Yes, I am that old!)
And thanks for the insider's view of the tournament!
Victor, Victoria.
Hell of a final (or at least a first set) that Vika played to clinch her first title of a season and a nice scalp of a fairly in-form Masha. That first saw some nice hitting off the ground and if there are a few things I've been forced to recognize from watching a hell of a lot of Vika this w...
Sure, his body is pretty great, but I've never seen his hair look so good. Fabulous, even!
What a guy!
Pic This: Beached Bull.
Rafa goes shirtless and shows off his Abercrombie hips. Thanks, Rafa. You're the best. More pics here.
"Sure. I respect everything."
These four words explain why Rafa is just the best! Simple and to the point. What a lovely answer, what a lovely attitude!
Air Quotes: No, Thank YOU!
Q. You may not have as much grass tennis as last year and two years ago. What is important before a big tournament like this? Is it to be used to the surface or be fresh mentally? Between both, what is the most important? RAFAEL NADAL: Everything is important, no? If you are fresh like ice...
Every time someone wants to know WHY I am a Rafa fan, I will point them to this article. Perfection. It says everything about Rafa that I can't put into words myself. Thanks so much!
Committed.
If there is one thing that unites great champion athletes it's a sense of delusion. For some, that level of delusion can be comical or eyeroll worthy (I'm rolling my eyes at you, Serena). For others it manifests itself in a self-confidence that seems independent of results. I'd put Fed in...

Fabio is oh so pretty. His eyebrows look way better than mine. Which is not good.
I have no idea who is going to win this one...
Scenes From a Clusterfuck
If you missed the experience of watching this thing go down live, I don't know that I can do it justice. To be clear, Gumby should have closed this out in three sets. There's no reason this should have gone five but hey, that's Gael for ya. He wanted drama and entertainment, so he decide...
Wow! I love the thought of Nole as Shakira. So much win, especially if Rafa announces him! ;-)
Can't wait!
Air Quotes: Zing!
From Rafa's Q&A: What one song would you like to sing in the Karaoke Booth at Roland Garros this year? Dustin, USA Rafa: I am thinking about it. If Marc Lopez does it with me, I'll do it. otherwise I'll simply introduce Novak singing Gypsy... :-)
I kept saying to my husband, "What is she wearing (or not wearing)?" Then I noticed how the cameraman was avoiding close-ups of Vee's service motion.
So thanks for the photo. Now I know I wasn't seeing things. :-O
Flash Gordon
Venus had a tough 1st round draw with Peppermint but she had no problems dismissing her in straight sets. I thought Venus was surprisingly aggressive. FINALLY! That's how you need to play all the time, Big Sister! All this is to say, she looked good. She also looked *good*. I *love...
Shar-pei Rafa -- so cute. When he makes that face, my daughter calls it his "baseball mitt face."
What's not to love? Vamos!
Pic This: My House.
Welcome home. Aw. Sharpei Rafa is one of my favorite Rafas. I want to take a nap in the folds of his face. Oh, don't be shy. Git it done, boy.
Congrats to Marko on his rise to the top!
I think the ESPN editors are also responsible for the latest headline on Pete Bodo's ESPN piece from today, "Nadal Masters the Minors." At least they could have called Rafa "Master of the Masters" or something a little more flattering and a lot more accurate. :-(
Tennis may not be their favorite sport, but at least proofread and do a little fact-checking now and then, especially when you are getting paid!
ESPN: The Worldwide Leader In Sports
Ajde, Marko! There's so much hilarity in this table. But it begins with the Momo comeback and ends with Kaia Kanepi's banner 2010. Thanks to @ataraxis00 and @jameslarosa for the head's up.
Rafa shorts do fit better. Custom job vs. Off-the-Rack, perhaps? (At least Gael's shirt fits better than it usually does. K-Swiss must have put it in his contract that he was not allowed to "swim" in his shirts anymore.)
Cruisin' For a Bruisin.
Pardon me as I have a moment. ... ... ... Ok. I'm good. That was nice. The faves keep cruising on the men's side, as Rafa, Fed, and Muzzard keep trucking. I realize now that I'm using "faves" loosely with my inclusion of Muzzard. But you guys know what I mean. Rafa had a tougher...
Looks like one of those special effect shows at Disneyworld -- "Honey, I Shrunk the Novak."
Yay for Marat! And he should definitely be the permanent all-ATP promoter. Lovely!
Someone Get Him A Milkcrate! It's His Own Tourney For God's Sake.
Congrats to Sam on outgutting Halpert to take the Nole Open, 36 76 64. A really nice week for the Americans. Maybe RG won't be a complete embarrassment.
Let's see: she's left handed, she's from Spain and she bites her trophies. What's not to like?
Fine, You Go Here.
Doesn't mean I have to like it. MGMT did what she does, confuzzling JJ much as she confuzzled everyone else this week to take the biggest title of her career with a 76 75. "It was really difficult. She plays very differently to most girls, lots of drop shots, serve and volley and she'...
