ah Rhus (Toxicodendron succedaneum) is classified as a dangerous weed tree here in Sydney, the leaves can cause extreme allergic reactions, have used the spice made from the berries of Rhus coriaria, a delightful flavour https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhus_coriaria

last year my sculptor friend Bronwyn Berman wrote this great reply to a conversation we were having via e-mail about making it in the art world; “And what is made it or almost made it? My experience is that we make it then we unmake it. I think I’ve made it more than once but thought I hadn’t made it so kept wanting to make it, then when it had been unmade again I realised that I had made and not appreciated it, then think that really what I have now is making it then think I’m a deluded ‘has been’ who is too old to ever make it, and in any case couldn’t be bothered with too much of making it. I think we’re probably always making it, as soon as we make it the unmaking begins and when we’re unmade then we start making again.”

I don't even try to meditate with my scattered monkey mind, my hands need to be working to get in the zone via drawing, stitching, beading, carving, gardening, sweeping, even washing the dishes can take me to that sweet spot where time stretches and the mind relaxes into the flow!

Magic Cloth 2 brings to mind one of the best lines I have ever read; “sews poems into shadows, pillows, and street corners.” written by Maria José Gonzalez Arredondo in the gallery catalogue for the Object Poems show (now sadly deleted) at 23 Sandy Gallery in 2011 when I bought 'Through an Object Poem' by her husband Mark Owens

(((Jude))) I built a template based website on a dial up connection in iVillage back in 2002 & had a lot of difficulties with trying to push the template and the sliding nature of html coding so I tried using Dreamweaver to build my own website from scratch but after an incredibly difficult learning curve over a 60 hour week I ended up with a broken front page. Then discovered Freeway from Softpress, a website generator for Mac users which worked well but had to rebuild every few years to keep up with all the changes on the internet & when my web host decided to throw in the towel I did too and let our websites go, am happy these days just using the free Wordpress template for my blog. Perhaps the trick is to stay within the parameters of the templates Wordpress provides.

one of the most amazing things about aphids is they are females who reproduces by parthenogenesis when they find a good food source, when the plant gets too crowded they just make one with wings to fly to the next plant and then to survive winter clones a male to reproduce by eggs! Just hosing them off when you're watering works to reduce the infestation
