Just one day after reporter Alison Parker was killed on Live TV, I listen to her boyfriend Chris Hurst bravely stand in front of the camera to speak about who she was and the wonderful life he shared with her over the last 9 months. He said that they did so many things together during this time, enjoying experiences, taking pictures, creating memories. And he was so grateful, in all his pain, to still have this. He stressed that just as they did together, we should all remember to do the same in our lives with our loved ones --... Continue reading

Rainy day in the middle of summer. It looks dreary and messy out there, doesn't it? Kind of makes you want to stay home curled up on the couch. Call in sick. Avoid the day. But EveryDay is a gift. No matter how happy or sad it looks out there, it's a new day. And it's all yours. Make the most of it in whatever way you can. Steer clear of all the negative talk about what an 'inconvenient' day it will be in the rain. Because if that's where your focus is, that's exactly the kind of day you'll... Continue reading

How many times have you instantly regretted hitting send on an email??? Fear no more, because Gmail has now officially added an 'unsend' button! Phew! BUT don't forget to TURN ON the undo feature so you can actually use it! Here's how: Here's how to enable Undo Send: 1 .On the Gmail website, click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select Settings. 2. On the General Tab, you should now see Undo Send listed as the tenth option. 3. To enable it, check the box next to Enable Undo Send. Make sure you hit “Save Changes” at the... Continue reading

As much as we try to understand others, it's hard to really 'get' where they're coming from if we haven't been in their shoes. We may imagine what it's like to a degree. But that's about it. Today & EveryDay: Instead of assuming we can know what it's like to be them, focus your efforts on listening more to what they have to say. Be humble. Be compassionate. Listen & Learn. ~NY Muse Continue reading

We all need people in our lives. But it's important that we become aware of the role others play in our world. Think about those surrounding you -- are they a blessing or a burden? Today & EveryDay: Remember to pay attention & adjust as necessary. If they can't be a blessing in your life, don't let them be a burden. ~NY Muse Continue reading

If you're a subway rider in NYC, you are all too familiar with the delays on the trains everyday. Maybe it's a sick passenger, track work, or the vague announcement about 'train traffic ahead'. Whatever the issue may be, most of us are tired, fed up, and just want to get there already! Oh, and most of us have to explain to our boss why we're late AGAIN!!! Don't you wish the MTA would give you an Excuse Note? Well, they can...and they will! Only issue with their 'delay verification notes' is that it takes 3 days to process! Thanks... Continue reading

If you found someone's iPhone, would you know what to do to get it back to its rightful owner? Well, like just about anything else, you could ask Siri! BUT there's a catch…you have to know exactly how to ask her. Ask Siri "Who owns this phone?" and she will readily respond with that info. Ask Siri "Who's phone is this?" and she won't tell you! Good to know! Continue reading

At the beginning of the year, I had some great ideas on how I'd live better in 2015. I had a long list of things. I'm sure my list included many of the same things we all put down as resolutions: eat better, exercise more, learn something new, etc. All great goals to help me live better in the new year. And based on my experience, I knew I would get to some/all of them at some point. For instance, it was certain that I'd add more exercise to my schedule along the way…in very small doses, at the appropriate... Continue reading
