Sorry, I couldn't resist that title. :) With 4 sons and 6 grandsons, we HAVE to be Star Wars fans, right? Just thought I'd share what's happening in my yard right now.... Yup, bees! They're good for my big ol' garden, good for the shrinking bee population in the world.... and you get honey! What could "bee" better? I purchased these hive components from Shastina Millworks at their "dent and ding" sale after the Southern Oregon Beekeeper's Bee School class a few weekends ago. The hive boxes were unfinished pine. I really DID try to paint them plain white... I... Continue reading

It's been awhile! I had ankle surgery shortly after that last blog post in 2012, and didn't think it was a good idea to blog while on pain meds, lol.... and then apparently got completely out of the habit. I've had a number of surgeries/recoveries/medical problems in the last 3 years and through all of that, I think it was just easier to not blog. That's it in a nutshell. But I've missed you all! I wanted to let you know we've updated the website and done some cleanup on it.... so if you haven't checked it in awhile, be... Continue reading

Well, I set the post below up to automatically post last week, and apparently something went wrong. :) I was rushing around trying to get post CHA projects finalized and also deciding whether we were going to keep our permits for a little Rogue River whitewater rafting trip late last week... anyway, I didn't check to make sure it posted, so I apologize for the delay! We ended up deciding to go ahead with the rafting trip.... here's where we were: That's Blossom Bar on the "Wild and Scenic" portion of the lower Rogue River. Probably my favorite spot on... I'm guardedly optimistic that my brand new website may be able to be activated sometime this next week...along with a "Grand Opening" sale, but I'm not getting my hopes up until I see it's actually COMPLETE. I've been trying to patiently wait for it to be completed, but definitely getting antsy and tired of waiting! Fingers, toes, everything crossed! To coordinate with the Grand Opening of my new website and after such a long blog hiatus, I decided to do a bunch of giveaways for a bunch of days in December...how's that for specific?! ;) Here's how it will work....... Wow. Has it reeeeally been that long?! I normally work on my blog in the evenings.... and as you can see I haven't had a spare evening lately. Let's see.... since I talked to you last I've manufactured a zillion tin pins for orders (they went really well at CHA), made lots of pretty wedding decorations my son's wedding, been blessed with two visits by the bride, had the whole family home for a visit, been to Hawaii for our son's wedding, (in between finalizing and checking the website) and sadly....had a family member steadily decline in health and pass... We're back from the Cincinnati Stampaway show and I thought I'd share a couple of photos from the Friday night Preview Party. The theme this year was "Flower Power"...which could be interpreted several different ways... hippies, 60's theme, or flowers. Greg Smallwood from Marco's Paper always comes up with amazing, involved costumes, but I think this one tops them all: Well, hello Sunshine! I didn't realize how uncomfortable it was for him until I read his blog... now that's true dedication! Our own Ted and Michelle {and many of our crew members from Stamper's Anonymous, Darcie's, Inky Antics and Art... Continue reading

Thought I'd share the other new "Beach" set with you today, so you can see how well they coordinate. Here's one of the cards: I like the saying on this card... we can't always control the things that happen to us, but we CAN adjust our attitude towards those things that are not under our control. A good reminder to me....and all of us... to look for the positive, even when it doesn't seem like there is anything positive in certain situations. Here's the red rubber cling mounted stamp set that was used to make the card above: The item... Continue reading

OK, I know you're going to wonder about this one. Releasing beach sets along with a "Winter" CHA release? Here's my line of thinking.... 1. I work with a "Beach" addict... (yes, YOU, Mrs. Tonya!)... and she had just returned from a trip to Florida when I was designing the new products earlier this year. Her enthusiasm for all things "Beachy" was contagious. I'm hooked. It's your fault, T. 2. Beach Cottage Style decorating items are HOT right now....after listening to Mrs. T go on and on and be so excited.... I started looking at some of the Pottery Barn... It's been months in the works and a whole lotta hours.... and here it is, ready to premier at the Summer CHA show....my new flyer! I was at a show in Novi recently and I had a customer say to me that she and her friends were at the hotel the night before, laying in bed talking..... about me, lol! Yikes, with an opening line like that, I wasn't sure what was coming next. Anyway, she paid me a really sweet compliment.... she said she and her friends were amazed at the transformation and retransformation of my line over the... Continue reading
