The sun, the football, the tennis, my son, my BF, all on holiday currently! The upside to the their absence is that I get time to blog and I've had a burning desire to put down in words my recent thoughts and observations on a couple of sporting events I have seen; The cricket – Live – Yes I was there in person! And the world cup, which I watched primarily in a pub J Let me start with the cricket, I went to the cricket ground in Bristol to see England play Bangladesh with BF before he buggered off... An Ode of English Plurals We'll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes, But the plural of ox becomes oxen, not oxes. One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese, Yet the plural of moose should never be meese. You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice, Yet the plural of house is houses, not hice. If the plural of man is always called men, Why shouldn't the plural of pan be called pen? If I speak of my foot and show you my feet, And I give you a boot, would... Continue reading

If you could meet on a Friday in a beautiful garden and sit in the sun and eat and chat and do business – wouldn't you? And if it was 6 gorgeous women, wouldn't you also want to be a fly on the garden wall? ;-) Conversation was stimulating, sharing of news, exciting and scary, personal and honest; I came away considering myself to be extremely lucky to be welcome and part of such a gathering. One person always sticks out in my mind at each of our meetings and this one was no exception. Samantha Mant of Mant solutions... Continue reading

It's been a fab day! You know the kind of day that has lots of little good things happen, nothing major just lots of little incidents, experiences, achievements that add up to a fab day! Audra and I both spent the day working in our offices, chatting on-line, passing each other info, getting the others opinion and only once saying "leave me alone a minute – I'm trying to concentrate"! I do love that about us, how honest we can be and how we work together, it really is perfect, especially how we do the other things the other hates... Continue reading

I went to an excellent event this week followed by a get together with a friend – and it made me think about relationships, of all types. I was at the Bristol Constructing Excellence conference down at Bristol waterfront yesterday morning and it was a beautiful day, one for being on the river rather than looking at it through a pane of glass, but hey if I took every glorious day we had off, not much of anything would have been achieved this month – its been fab eh? Rebecca who has become a friend and colleague over the last... Continue reading

There is so much to catch up on – all the time eh? So first of all how are you? Are you all caught up – maybe in a tangle? May it be a work knot or a love knot – we all have things that are a tad complicated and knotty in our lives – so how do we cope? Escapism is a great option in whatever form you wish that to take – a good book, a good bottle of red, a long walk or jumping on a plane. Audra and I are lucky enough to have the... Continue reading

Well we are well and truly back into it this week – no rest for the wicked! We only have ourselves to blame… Audra and I have been like passing ships in the night, grabbing snippets of time to catch up, discuss and agree what, how and when, madness! Between us we've managed to cope with: Accounts! Don't you just love January! Presentation skills Delivery Speeches Course development Book promotion Sue's grandson taken into hospital with suspected meningitis Last minute proposals Last minute bookings to Dubai Trip to the Vets – not good news L Client Meetings Partner Meetings Don't... of a more regular blog! Pat on the back please..... Its that time of year for new beginnings and promises, we have started well here at Your Impact- the blonde's having been working hard to start off as we mean to go on and everyone else seems up for fresh starts and kicking 2010 into touch - so all good! Our channel partners are all raring to go and chasing opportunities and getting ready for the year ahead. Audra and I have been working on the content for the Retail Trust rework programme and are really excited about it -... Continue reading

Hard to get back into it when the rest of the UK seems to still be off! However it has meant three brilliant things as far as I am concerned: 1) I love the snow - it makes my awful garden look really pretty and the dogs dont get covered in mud each walk! 2) I have time to get organsied - clean desk and office and goals all written and started and 3) I have been able to ease myself into being sober during the day and cut back on the remaining Christmas cheeses! If you want some help... Continue reading

Oh we have been VERY bad at keeping up the blog - slapped wrists! But what a corker to come back with - Audra's birthday! Audra likes her birthday - even though she probably should be shying away a bit from them now! And she tells EVERYONE! Fab idea - I'm going to do that this year - because you get LOADS of cards, pressies, drink, chocolate and visitors and you get to go out in ridiculous outfits! So Monday 19th is the actual date but celebrations started much earlier! Friday I went down to Deal and whilst Audra was... Continue reading

Today has highlighted again just how different we all are, countries in particular – obvious I know but I have some observations…. Last week I was in Dubai and it was Ramadan, I know that also here in the UK people observed Ramadan, but in Dubai you had no choice, it was the law; no eating, drinking, smoking during daylight hours – a tough call! However if you were out of the public eye or anyone's eye that would be offended by non compliance – then you could sneak to the staff kitchen and have a sneaky cup of coffee... Continue reading

Sometimes you just have to take a step back and think about what has happened just in the last few days – and be really, really, really grateful. Today Audra is at a funeral of a friend from school – died of cancer aged just 42 and I spoke to a friend who I haven't heard from in a while and found out he was falsely accused of attempted murder! Yet also this week Audra was on the radio and I was photographing camels on the roadside, I have ate Polish sour soup with boiled eggs and sausage, swam, sat... Continue reading

How appealing is that? Well it was obviously good enough for my 3am visitor last week! Now suitably shamed I won't torture him anymore, but if I can score looking like that, I can score anywhere! Unless it's a mark of his desperation….which I'm refusing to believe! So from the amazing book launch success in London's newest and most fantastic hotel, grange St.Paul's….to the Deal Library Book signing! From the sublime to the ridiculous…I laughed and laughed, along with my constant companion for the day Elaine. Thank God she stayed with me as her humour kept me going when 1... Continue reading

Probably one of the best days of my life! Audra and I are so, so, so over the moon at all the support and love – it really was an amazing day and night. We arrived at the new Grange hotel St Pauls on Wednesday night and were thoroughly spoilt by Raj with drinks, snacks and jokes! We had a tour of the hotel, and what a hotel it is, truly gorgeous and sophisticated – the perfect venue for the Blondes in Business book Launch! Molton Brown products in the bathroom girls! Plus an illuminated magnifying mirror - ok that... Continue reading
