I just wanted to say how incredibly proud I felt taking the children to Dukes Barn, they were incredible ambassadors for Porchester. The children's behaviour was impeccable, everyone of them challenged themselves, supported their peers and worked well together. They were an absolute credit to you as parents and us at school. A huge thank you to the staff that came with me, Mrs Watts, Mr Samsone and Mr Sansum they were fab as always. More photos will follow during the course of today. Posted with Blogsy Continue reading

The talented children with the help of the talented Mr Widdowson have created a computer programme for our new rainforest reading area. I am astounded at their skills and knowledge it is outstanding. They have managed to use their knowledge to write a programme to create rainforest noises, using sensors and trigger plates. Wow I am blown away by the talent. In the middle of achievement assembly we had a surprise visit from a professor from the natural history museum. He was very impressed with all the research the children had done this week. Sadly, the egg has left Porchester to travel to the natural history museum where further investigations will be carried out. I would like to say a huge thank you to all the pupils for making this week eggcellent.. You have worked so hard looking for clues, experimenting with eggs, researching and caring for the egg. You really are eggceptional children. Thank you, Mrs I :-) Posted with Blogsy Continue reading

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02t9tdf/p02t9ssr Perhaps we have discovered an elephant bird egg too. Elephant birds are now extinct but many people are finding fossilised elephant bird eggs. Could our egg be an elelephant birds egg? Who do you think our egg belongs too? Posted with Blogsy Continue reading

This morning, we were astounded to find a huge egg had been left in the compost pile. High in the trees was a lonely nest. Could the egg have fallen from the nest? The police were call and taped off the area. As the weather wasn't too good, we began to be concerned for the egg so we brought it inside to keep dry and warm We have been busy investigating the origin of the egg. Who could have laid an egg that size? Where did it come from? What clues did we find? Posted with Blogsy Continue reading
