We spent the weekend painting our living room, putting fresh coats of paint on a couple pieces of old furniture, eating donuts, going out to eat yummy dinners, watching movies late night, dairy queen, and lovin on each other. I walked downstairs to the BIGGEST mothers day card ever and opened a jewelry box to find a beautiful heart locket engraved with my loves initials and my favorite pictures inside. It was also my first Mothers Day with my daughter in my arms. I'm one blessed Mama and so very thankful! *Also, I have the sweetest and most thoughtful husband... Continue reading

We're painting this weekend. Finally. I've wanted gray walls for so long and I must say - it was easier to just daydream about it. Picking the "right" shade of gray is exhausting. I've spent A LOT of time this week on websites looking at gray rooms. (Thank you, Pinterest) So far we've chosen 5. Just when I think I've found the perfect shade, I lay it beside 10 other gray swatches and the color transforms right before my eyes. Too blue. Too periwinkle. Too beige. Too... not gray. These are the 5. And after paiting a spot on the... Continue reading

In my first post about starting Project Life I mentioned getting started (I was lost), the IKEA cart (love, love, love), and the Silhouette CAMEO my husband bought for me. In this post I'm sharing lots of my favorite supplies and where I've made most of my purchases. If I can provide a link I will but most of my items were in Michaels and Amazon. (PRIME shipping has changed our life!) IKEA cart Silhouette Cameo (not seen in this post) I purchased these pretty pink canisters (below) from IKEA for only $5.99. They hold small stamps and cutouts I've... Continue reading

6: Clothing items I ordered for Graylyn this week. (Baby clothes are my #1 weakness when it comes to purchases.) 1: Times we played SORRY! as a family. (Old games are our favorites. Uno, Sorry, Skipbo) 1: Ultrasound on my daughter, Graylyn's, lump. 3 : Restaurants we ate from (take out and dine in) 1: Times we went down by the water to feed the geese and take photographs while getting rained on. lost count: Kissed my husband on the lips 1: Attended a Minor League Baseball game (Graylyn loved it - so did I) *Forgot where I first saw... I have a serious Gap online shopping problem. Every week their emails of 30%, 35%, 40% lure me in to adding sweet baby girl items to my shopping cart until, BAM, I'm hitting "checkout" before I can say, "My husband's going to cancel our internet." So far he just laughs when the Gap bags show up. So far. These are just a few items I've purchased recently. While I am not looking forward to the sweltering heat that summer brings, I'm very much looking forward to dressing my little blonde girl for her first (mobile) summer. Continue reading

1. Modeling a dress from her aunt one afternoon. 2. We finally added her crib bedding. I love it. I was a little nervous after almost 9 months of being without anything that she would be too interested in it and pull it apart. But so far so good. She mostly just fiddles with the knots some. 3. An old and favorite piece of furniture. 4. A favorite pair of curtains. I'd love to order more but the store is sold out. 5. Picked up some new items at Target and Michaels for Graylyn's Project Life album. Aren't those CIRCUS... Continue reading

I fell in love with the details of Emily's (of Jones Design Company) daughters room she featured on her blog in the past. This flower mobile has been on my to-do list for quite some time as my Graylyn is now 9 months old. It took a few trips to Michaels to collect the flowers (they never had enough all at once) but it's finally finished and hung thanks to my husband. I simply followed Emily's simple tutorial here. I chose a little bit larger styrofoam wreath (14") and slightly different ribbon. I added a few grey flowers to match... Continue reading

My Nana was the most talented lady I'd ever known. She spent many years painting beautiful china, cooking the most delicious southern meals, and making the sweetest and loveliest dolls to be passed on to her family after she had passed on to be with Him. She's with Him now as I go through a big box of a few of her things. Her dolls, her tiny yellow pouch with sewing thimbles, and a few dainty pieces of handkerchief's and linens from her drawers that still smell like her. I'm cherishing each one as I miss her right now. She... Continue reading

I stood in the shower and I cried out to Him. My hands covering my face, the water beating down on my chest. My body was not producing as much milk as she needed. Not at all. I tried to nurse more often but every time she became more frustrated and upset. So was I. I'm her mama and I couldn't feed her. She was only 8 months old. (8 months 2 weeks today) I'm not ready to stop nursing her. Not even close. My heart was broken every day at the thought of losing my milk. Losing this time.... Continue reading

1. Beautiful red roses from my husband delivered to my door while he was at work. Nothing better than beautiful flowers sitting around the home. 2/3. I got this idea from Emily's blog and LOVE it. I love the way it looks, I love the thought put into it, I love the sentiment. I'm keeping all the ones I made this year for scrapbooks. Graylyn's will go into her Project Life album I'm working on. 4. My in-laws sent my husband a box of Henry and David's goodies recently and the cookies included were OH.SO.DELICIOUS. I told my husband I'd... Continue reading

Project Life has been something I've wanted to start for quite some time. Quite honestly, the cost of it all is what hindered my starting it. I've collected many items over the years that have just been tucked away in drawers, desks, and bins that would be put to perfect use towards this project (stickers, stamps, stationary, etc.). Finally, I took the first step and ordered my binder, plastic pocket pages, and a box of project life cards all from Amazon. So excited when it was delivered - but where do I begin?? My style is to add as I... Continue reading

My husband and I quickly realized we were purchasing quite a bit from Amazon and tried Amazon Prime. OH.MY.WORD. We have been hooked ever since. I love the availability of most of the items we need/want. I love that our diapers and wipes for our (now 7month old) baby girl are set on an automatic shipment schedule. I L O V E the "wish list" I've been able to create for myself and everyone in my family. I definitely love the 2 day delivery for almost all the items we've needed/wanted. I recommend to everyone, especially busy mom's who don't... Continue reading
