d.rose is averaging 3 mpg more than beasley. and yes, 3 minutes is a big difference. Posted by: doctorb | November 23, 2009 at 10:11 AM Especially in the 4th qtr
For the most part Haslem has held his own against perimeter players and has played very well defending bigs Posted by: pete | November 23, 2009 at 09:45 AM Do I need to put stats of what PF in this league avg against UD cuz again I don't base my arguements over abstract cliches. If you notice the Heat let Beasley play the entire game when we're sure to lose. But in games we have a chance to win they Bench him. therefore blowing up the stats where UD is in the lineup we win, when Beas comes in for garbage time in the 4 th we lose. I see it and you know you all see the same thing.
Actually its an exageration when people say Beasley is better than Haslem. WHich I've heard plenty of. Posted by: pete | November 23, 2009 at 09:37 AM again without using CLICHES tell me why UD is better than Beas...I-WIN.... I'M STILL WAITING....
"What was the Heat's record in 2007-08 with Haslem playing big minutes?" Posted by: JB | November 23, 2009 at 09:31 AM ANSWER THE QUESTION!
Last time I checked winning 53% of your games is better than winning 29%. Posted by: JB | November 23, 2009 at 09:31 AM oh yeah you're right haslem did play in our win against the Bobcats 2 points 1 rebs LOL. WE LOST TO TEAMS THAT WERE BETTER THAN US what don't you understand about that? Bost, Atl, and Hornets .
When he can play more than 5 possessions without making a bonehead play he'll get the minutes. Posted by: JB | November 23, 2009 at 09:27 AM Versus the 0 bonehead plays that and chalmers and his all star nbrs gets us every night playing quality minutes? LOL. For any argument you Beasley haters have for him there are 100 others for his counterparts.
What was the Heat's record in 2007-08 with Haslem playing big minutes? How did the Heat do last year in the playoffs with Haslem as the starter? Don't be a douchecake JB. Posted by: I-Win (I am a Udonis Haslem nut-hugger) | November 23, 2009 at 09:25 AM I-WIN IS THAT YOU???
Coach Spo, If I scored 40 points, and had 2o rebounds would u still bench me the 4th quarter? Posted by: Ohshz | November 23, 2009 at 09:11 AM If not, then why the heck did you draft him???? Posted by: doctorb | November 23, 2009 at 09:08 AM wow these are all my exact thoughts.. I guess great minds think alike. We all need to go to a game together and WE SHOULD ALL MAKE "LETBEASLEY PLAY" posters and sit opposite to the Heat bench. GOOD IDEA??
are you formerly clarkyheatman?? Posted by: doctorb | November 23, 2009 at 09:06 AM No that's just my real first and last name I don't use screen names. except for my PS3 gamertag... LETBEASLEYPLAY... who ever want's it in NBA2k10 Hit me up.
Is there any stat in the game of basketball more relevant than wins and losses? Posted by: JB | November 23, 2009 at 08:58 AM Oh and I'm pretty sure the games that we lost had nothing to do with Wade struggling to get out of a shooting slump. Nah nothing at all.
Going back to last year, the last seven games Haslem has missed the Heat's record is 2-5, including 0-2 this year. That's a 29% winning percentage. Posted by: JB | November 23, 2009 at 08:58 AM Correction they went 4-3 and only lost to...CP3 and the hornets which Beasley 25/9 outplayed David West 20/6 while D WADE shot 11-27 and chalmers went 1-10. The Defending champs Boston where Beas went 23pts/13rbs and Paul Pierce went crazy in the 4th qtr. And finally the Atlanta Hawks where Beasley had a game high 23 points and a game high 13 rebs WHILE GETTING ONLY 24 MINUTES in a game where Wade did not play that we lost by only 2 points. SO 4-3 where we lost to playoff teams that had better talent than us and one of those losses coming with Wade not even playing. Next time you wanna talk about stats regarding wins in loses DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST. WE ARE HEAT FANATICS HERE YOU CAN'T FOOL US.
" I think every one would have been a lot happier with Brook Lopez." Posted by: JB | November 23, 2009 at 08:52 AM UMM brook lopez avg 13ppg and 8reb "starting" 31 mpg as a rookie. Currently he is averaging 17 and 8 as a "starter" in his 2nd year playing 35.6 MPG and they actually run low post plays for him. Beasley as a 1st 3 qtrs "starter" gave you 17 and 9 in 28 minutes last night. I don't get what you guys don't understand. He can't show you how good he can be if you don't let him close games. It's not that I don't care that the Heat won. I'm just looking at the bigger picture. Kirk Hinrich we call can agree would start right now for the heat and when D rose got drafter he was still go good starting PG. Chicago did not think twice to start rose and let him play thru his shooting woes cuz they know what they want rose to be and now look.
Posted by: I-Win (God is a Udonis Haslem fan) | Can I ask you a question I-win?? Without using any cliches, tell me why you have no complaints about Udonis then i'll get to the Beasley part. Cuz I think that there are things you don't know statistically about UD that I must bring into light. AGAIN NO CLICHES... waiting
Who cares that Beas is makin drastic improvements??? Who cares he's only 20?? We can just treat him like he's dorell wright and tag him along Like a talentless bench player the Heat are painting him out to be. ZZZzzz going to be peace.
Haslem is no starter and in no way should be playing more mins than Beasley in a developmental year. If Beasley was playing like ass i could understand but the guy was playing great. Just trade Beasley if Haslem is so important to Wade/Spo whoever. Posted by: flash | November 23, 2009 at 12:28 AM AMEN! and good night. Bench Beas start UD praise Spo!! UD came thru in the clutch.
Ok. Changing subjects... DO we get AI or what? here's what I think. Use AI as a "bench" player the way we use UD. Starting would be RIO,DWADE,RICH,BEAS,ONEAL; bench would be ARROYO,AI,COOK/JONES,UD,ANTHONY. run the same plays for AI we run for Dwade. We'll have a sorta kinda Ben Gordon off our bench. Watcha think?
are ALL CAPS really necessary? Posted by: A New Day | November 22, 2009 at 11:16 PM WHEN YOU'RE MAD yes. ok i'll stop.
"When the Hornets doubled Wade in the final period, the Heat often proved incapable of playing four-on-three elsewhere on the court. This team's power play simply is not very good." HMMMM.... I WONDER WHY??
lol you talking to me or I-Win? 'Cause if it's me, then that was a pointless comment. Posted by: GodsSon521 | November 22, 2009 at 11:03 PM I-WIN LOL MY BAD. I'M JUST PISSED
s glowing as Michael Beasley's statistics in college but he was beaten by Hansborough for the College Player of the Year award that year. Posted by: williams46 | November 22, 2009 at 10:48 PM HANSBOROUGH IS A PAT RILEY TYPE OF GUY.. YOU KNOW... HIS NBA GAME SUCKS!!!!!!!!! KINDA REMINDS ME OF...
But would that team win? Probably not. Posted by: I-Win (God is a Udonis Haslem fan) | November 22, 2009 at 10:30 PM Trade Beas for Hickson. Would they lose? Posted by: GodsSon521 | November 22, 2009 at 10:42 PM AND NOW MY REBUTAL; THE YEAR UD HAD TO PROVE TO ME WHAT HE WAS REALLY MADE OF WAS OUR WORST YEAR 07-08. UD HAD NO ONE TO TAKE HIS MINUTES PLAYED 75 GAMES YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED?? "The Heat clinched the worst record in the NBA at 15-67" UD AVG 10 AND 8 PLAYING 36 MPG. OUR GLORIFIED LOCKER ROOM LEADER. SO CONTINUE WITH YOUR "WINNER" TALK.
Beasley will never lead a team to the championship. Championship teams have a HIGH BBALL IQ, LIMIT THEIR MISTAKES, and MAKE THE RIGHT PLAY 90% of the time. That is the exact opposite of Michael Beasley does. And because he takes a lot of shots, those poor choices he makes will have a big impact on your team. Posted by: iwillaskdonaldtrumptofirespo | November 22, 2009 at 10:37 PM UMM IF IT WASN'T FOR THE INJURIES THE HEAT HAD WHEN WADE A ROOKIE WHO KNOW'S WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN. OH BY THE WAY YOU CAN'T TALK ABOUT A GUY LEADING HIS TEAM TO A CHAMPIONSHIP WITHOUT GETTING MINUTES FIRST. OH AND AT LEAST BEAS ISN'T ONE OF THOSE HEAT PLAYERS WHO CAST THEMSELVES AS DWADE ONLOOKERS WHILE D WADE GETS TRAPPED. DID YOU SEE THE PLAY TONIGHT WHEN BEASLEY GOT DBLED AND GAVE WADE A BEAUTIFUL PASS UNDER THE BASKET. HE CAN'T GET BETTER IF WE DON'T ALLOW HIM TO FINISH GAMES.
PEOPLE WHO KEEP COMPARING HASLEM TO BEEZ,PLEASE GO ALL THE WAY TO HIGH SCHOOL TILL NOW AND YOU WILL SEE THAT BEEZ RESUME IS FAR MORE AHEAD THAN HASLEM. bESIDES THE RING THAT HASLEM HAS,WHAT ELSE HAS HE DONE SINCE HIGH SCHOOL??? Posted by: iwillaskdonaldtrumptofirespo | November 22, 2009 at 10:34 PM WOW COULDN'T AGREE MORE, YOU WOULD THINK THAT HASLEM PUT UP BEASLEY NUMBERS AS A ROOKIE THEY WAY PPL TALK ABOUT HIM HERE. DON'T GET ME WRONG I LIKE UD OFF THE BENCH BUT TO WATCH A KID WHO SUPPOSED TO BE A STAR BEING HELD BACK CUZ OF HIM IT MAKES ME SICK.
Posted by: clarkpetion305 | November 22, 2009 at 10:21 PM ================= My eyessssssssssss... BTW, What happened to Billy? HUH?
He will not, however, become indispensable until he can consistently knock down his shot. Posted by: rgpx | November 22, 2009 at 10:19 PM WHAT HAS HASLEM DONE CONSISTENLY?? (BE THE HEART AND SOUL OF THE TEAM) IF THAT'S THE CASE THEN EXPLAIN MARIO CHALMERS TO ME??? NO ONE HERE TALKS ABOUT HIM BUT.. "WE'RE NOT BRINGING ANYONE HERE TO START OVER CHALMERS" DO ME A FAVOR CHECK OUT THE GAMES THAT HASLEM DIDN'T PLAY AND GIMMIE BEASLEY'S STATS AND TELL ME YOU DON'T SEE CONSISTENCY. OH AND THE GAMES WE LOST WE'RE CUZ WADE PLAYED CRAPPY IT'S BECAUSE WE MISSED UD'S GRIME AND GRIT.
