EPIC! <3 Looking forward to it. :)
One of my super secret projects isn't a secret any longer...
FINALLY, I can talk about this, and because a picture is worth a thousand words... Felicia Day and I wrote a Fawkes story for The Guild comic together. There are two covers, the one above is by Paul Duffield, and this one is by Emma Rios: Jamie McKelvie is drawing the book, which comes out...
I believe the gentleman in question has been feature in Trekkies 1 or 2 as well...
Your move, Fan Fiction Writers
This is Safe for Work. As Chris Hardwick says, I think I'm going to buy this, and skip the naughty bits so I can see the story. (There are a bunch of NSFW behind the scenes pictures from actress April O'Neil -- who is a gigantic geek, apparently -- right here.)
But Raptor Jesus said to turn the other claw...
All the better to disembowel them with!

This is in the Electric office here in Los Angeles. I took this picture when I joined John Rogers and Beth Riesgraf there last year for our live chat after The Ho Ho Ho Job aired.

OMG WANT!
possible (and very limited) autographed book sale
I've been cleaning out my office, organizing comic books and games, and slowly crawling through a decade's accumulation of geek stuff. It. Has. Been. AWESOME. Last night, I went into the depths of the hallway closet, and behind a bunch of CDs and DVDs, I found nine hardback copies of The Happies...
Have Smurfs, Wil Travel.
merry smurfin' smurfmas, mothersmurfers
This is crying out for a caption. I'll choose my favorite, and send something neat* to whoever writes it. Submissions open throughout the weekend, one per person, and can only be left as comments here (it's too difficult to track on Twitter or via e-mail). *definition of 'neat' will be at my s...
Don't forget to get her the novels when she gets older! Despite some subtle thematic differences, I think they're fantastic light reading and remember them fondly.
The future is not a straight line. It is filled with many crossroads.
If you're of a certain age, do you remember the first time you saw AKIRA, or any of the Dirty Pair or original Macross cartoons? Coming from a steady diet of Hannah Barbera cartoons, it was like trading a transistor radio for a high-end stereo or seeing the grand canyon with my own eyes. The cin...
We had actually discussed using Akira in class, but the number of volumes and thus the prohibitive cost precluded it, but it is DEFINITELY on the "suggested reading" list. If/when I can afford the phonebook anthologies, I'm checking it out!

This is fantastic. I'm emailing it to my friend who's an English Professor here in Northern California, as he holds Akira in very high regard and I'm sure he'll get a chuckle out of your "old man" routine. On a side note for the future not being entirely full of ungrateful, ignorant snotty kids: he's teaching "Graphic Novels and Manga" as a serious English Lit analysis class... and the curriculum includes Volume 4 of Sandman: Season of Mists and Ghost in the Shell.

The (re)connecting sentiment made me all warm and fuzzy inside. And Wil, if you want to "show us pictures of your cats", I think its safe to say we will trust your judgment that it will be suitable epic and/or awesome.
ugly bags of mostly water
I know, I know, posting Twitter conversations is the new posting pictures of your cat, but if you'll indulge me one more time, I think some of you will be glad you did: @levarburton: The Angels have demonstrated genuine character tonite... Unlike the Dodgers who simply punked out!!! @wilw: @lev...
