DUDE!!!
Your son rocks!!!
A troubling realization
This comes to us from my son, Ryan Wheaton. Click it to embiggen: Click to Embiggen Footnote: If there was any question that love -- not biology -- makes a family, look no further than my son's delightfully twisted sense of humor, which I think I helped foster.
I love the way your dog is staring at you in a WTF? way.
Hang on, I really should have done that in the Wil Voice.
Dog: OMG WTF DUDE? DO YOU NEED TO GO FOR A WALK?
something stirs and something tries and starts to climb toward the light
I worked on [REDACTED] today, and had more fun than I thought possible. I can't say anything more until July. Tomorrow, I work on [REDACTED], which is different from [REDACTED], but should be really awesome, too. I can't believe I get to spend two days working with [ACTORS]. (It was a lot easier...
What happened to good comedy.
If I found Wil's kindle before I returned it I would knock up a fake eBook called something like "100 uses of a dead wheaton" by Dr Sheldon Cooper. or some such thing.
Upload it to amazon as a free ebook and then purchase it so Wil got the notification. I figure a week of such fun, then request a shipping address to return it.
Some people today dont seem to have the "Don't be a dick gene"
Someone found my Kindle on the airplane this weekend. I'd really like it back.
I left my Kindle on an airplane this weekend (post-convention exhaustion will do that to you), and someone found it. I know that someone found it, because they've been using my account to buy games and books. Based on the purchases, I'm fairly sure the person who found my Kindle (which is named ...
AWESOME!!!!!!
The Adventures of Lil' Cthulhu
Because this is too awesome not to share: (Thanks to Amy Brown for the link!)
Happy Birthday Wil.
I think its OK for us to start dropping years about now, Why are women the only ones to "make mistakes" about their age :o)
Spock is not impressed that it's my birthday
During w00tstock last week, I mentioned that I was turning 38 this week. After the show, Anne told me that I was, in fact, turning 39. In the few seconds that it took me to do some math, I lost a year of my life. Apparently, this is the sort of thing that happens when you get to be my age, which...
Sorry I'm #TeamMarten all the way :o)
EUREKA: Glimpse
Last night's Eureka, Glimpse, was my first episode as a non-enraged-by-the-enraginator-device Doctor Parrish. I had completely forgotten about Fargo's commercial for the Astraeus project at the top of the show; when I saw that, the excitement of shooting the entire season came flooding back to m...
6 hours? That's plenty of sleep Mr Wheaton!
Wish I slept that long on a good night
tamed by the purr of a jaguar
Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post. I had no idea so many new readers were visiting my blog; I'd just assumed that the Internet had gotten bored with me, moved on to whatever the new hotness is, and I was writing for the few, the proud, the geeky who had been here forever. Knowi...
Mr Wheaton.
You are as evil as the characters you tend to portray atm.
I lost an entire evening to DungeonRaid.
(Time to go pass on the addiction)
Various things I want you to know
A few things before I forget: 1. Memories of the Future Volume 1 is available for your Kindle. It's also at Kindle.uk, and Kindle.de. It's temporarily out of the iBooks store, but I'll get that fixed in a few days. Hey, if you liked it, would you leave a review? 2. Yes, I'm working on Memories o...
The only game reviews I really listen to are those posted by Friends who's opinion I trust, and who have a similar game taste to myself.
I've seen too many movies/games that I have loved but which were slatted by reviewers, And the opposite Ones that were touted as the best since.... and I found very unsatisfying.
So I tend to trust a few smaller gaming blogs where I know the people are giving fair honest opinions.
on video game reviews and the power and influence of marketing
I came across this post at No High Scores yesterday. It's about how mega publishers are starting to limit access to the media in terms of review copies, overall access, as well as in potential ad money. There are a lot of great things about working in the games industry. You know what the bes...
Very enjoyable read, and I hope we will seem more of this story, or similar in the not to distant future.
Oh. and "Bad Wil!" (in tone of voice for telling off a dog who stole your biscuit) You should not be so hard on yourself or worried, that short was entertaining, gripping, and many other words ending in ing.
You can write, You can write well. Have you considered being a writer :o)
Now go get yourself a guiness, then return to write more!
HUNTER is here.
Hunter is a short Sci-Fi story set in a dark and desperate world. It is just about 2500 words, which is about the length of a story you'd read in a magazine. I'm not really sure what the appropriate cost is, so I'm experimenting with the Pay What You Want model that seems to be working really we...
So we can all now play Vox & Vix in scrabble. If the other players query the words we can say, "Hey I heard wil Wheaton use them, and he's a writer!"
Video of my reading from PAX Prime: Triple Word Score
While browsing Reddit during my morning coffee, I came across this: I remember how much I liked writing this story for LA Daily, but until GenCon, I'd never read it in public. Both times I've read it, though, it's gone over very well, so I'll probably add it - at least temporarily - to my pe...
It looks like part of an old industrial power board.
The metal strip on right would be connected to the mains electricity, then you have all the individual fuses running off it, and you'd connect the wires for individual circuits to the other end of the fuse.
That's what it looks like from the photo you linked.
Hard to tell as not a good pic.
The Cooper-Hofstadter Coffee Table Proof
(Image by me. Click to embiggen. Please link to this post if you reuse it.) As I walked from the comic shop set down to the bowling alley set today, I passed the set for Leonard and Sheldon's apartment, which is in the center of the stage. I gawked at it the way you do when you're a fan of th...
nice one... Sheldon needs an evil nemesis to stop him winning every time.
The only thing that would make it more "awesome" would be for the "evil wil" character to be wearing the moonpie t-shirt from your earlier post.
Evil Wil Wheaton returns to The Big Bang Theory
Well, it's official. Evil Wil Wheaton is going back to The Big Bang Theory! From TV Guide Magazine: Geeks everywhere will be happy hear that Star Trek star Wil Wheaton will be returning to hang out with TV’s hippest nerds on The Big Bang Theory. “We were very excited when Wil Wheaton appeared...
Nice. Clown top and everything.
In which Wil discovers that he has Bioshock 2 Elbow.
My arms hurt so much today, I can hardly lift a cup of coffee, and I feel quite silly. This is how it happened... I played ice hockey all through high school and into my early 20s. I loved being a goalie, and after going to lots of Kings games with Nolan in January, I decided that I was going to...
You use a Mac atm right?
The free Embed Artwork (http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=embedart) AppleScript from Doug Adams forces iTunes to embed artwork in the audio file itself rather than storing it in a separate file. This works whether you add the album art manually, use iTune’s built-in Get Album Artwork feature or run another fantastic piece of software called GimmieSomeTune.
Radio Free Burrito: Episode Twenty
Holy Crap, it's time for a new episode of Radio Free Burrito! I must say, I'm pretty proud of my ability to get this one out on time. If I keep this up, I may have to remove the phrase "infrequently updated" from the show's description. Show Notes: The logo was designed by WWdN:iX reader Marc,...
I lost my dog of 10 yrs recently. Don't listen to anyone who says "why be upset its just a dog!" She was a member of your family, and its normal to hurt when you loose a family member, especially a loving one like a dog who gives so much while asking for so little.
through the fish-eyed lens of tear stained eyes
My dog Ferris, who was rescued from a bus stop in Monrovia by my wife Anne almost exactly 8 years ago, had a heart attack and died this morning. It happened very quickly, and I was with her, which is supposed to make me feel better, but at this moment all I can feel is nearly-unbearable sorrow, ...
