I've been busy making cloth birds for my Ella Minnow Peaeshop on Etsy. I've made 12 so far and listed six; six more are cut out and ready to sew. I think they make a nice gift for under $10.00 including shipping. They look like this: They come in every... Continue reading

Today is our granddaughter's third birthday. I do not have the words to say how much joy Katie has brought into our lives. She is such a happy girl, much older than three; in fact, if you ask her, she will tell you that she is six. Hey, I believe... Continue reading

I hope all you mothers had a wonderful day yesterday. I spent the day with my daughters, Amy and Jana. I must say that our day was perfect. The weather was beautiful, brunch at Shuga's was yummy as always and dinner at Il Vincino was scrumptious. The antique mall was... Continue reading

Well, I had the whole post finished and viola! It was gone! Just like that. Now I need to remember what I had said. I should have copied it before I did anything else, I think. Anyway, it's been a long time since I posted. You know, I think about... Continue reading

Busy, busy lately, but having lots of fun. Lot of art ideas and projects going, including a show at Domino in Colorado Springs, opening night March 4. It will be my first opening. I have ordered a really cute black dress from Macy's to wear that night. Anyway, here are... Continue reading

Alicia: I was so excited to get your book at my local Barnes & Noble the other day. It turned out to be just what I needed, as I want to make some initialed dinner napkins for some Christmas gifts. I love reading your blog and seeing all of your projects (your new studio), etc. Thanks for sharing yourself so freely with all of us. Frankie Kins http://bluemoonstudio.etsy.com

It's after 3:00 a.m. and everyone is asleep but me. I'm finding it difficult not to stay on my night shift, even on the weekends. However, that is all going to change when I have surgery on Monday. Doing things to keep my mind busy in the last few days,... Continue reading

Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in a day. We have been doing some landscaping near the front of the house, working after dark because it has been so hot. It's looking good, though, In my opinion. I still have a ton of weeding to do in the back. We... Continue reading

Well, I missed the Blue Monday post, but it is only 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, so that's not too bad, I suppose. I hope you all had an enjoyable Memorial Day. I'm thankful for all those who have served in the millitary and all those who are serving now. Mr.... Continue reading

I have decided to just "start all over" with my blog posts, since my poor blog has been so badly neglected. So, here we go with my first "Blue Monday" post, hopefully to be a regular or semi-regular feature. I also decided to go back to my Blue Moon Studio... Continue reading

A time comes in your life when you finally get it… When in the midst of all your fears and insanity you stop dead in your tracks and somewhere, the voice inside your head cries out - ENOUGH! Enough fighting and crying, or struggling to hold on. And, like a child quieting down after a blind tantrum, your sobs begin to subside, you shudder once or twice, you blink back your tears and through a mantle of wet lashes, you begin to look at the world through new eyes. This is your awakening… You realize that it’s time to stop... Continue reading

I finally do have some random thoughts and a few things going on; don't faint! Time has permitted me to work fairly diligently at my photography in recent weeks. My grandson and I had a little photo shoot here at the house (he being an aspiring photographer as well) all dressed up in our 1930ish clothing. First of all, let me explain that it is a lot of work to do a "real photo shoot". You have to make sure you batteries are charged. Get out the lenses you want to use. Make sure they are clean. Decide what props... Continue reading

I've been away from blogging for almost one year. I must admit that I much rather enjoy reading the blogs of others than writing my own. Deciding to give it another try, I make no promises for long, luscious posts with plenty of pictures, but I will do what I can do. There's so much guilt that accompanies blogging....."Did I blog enough? Was I too personal? Is someone going to read this and get mad?" I will attempt to throw caution to the wind and leave the guilt trip behind on this blogging-go-round. But I will give you my first... Continue reading
