I personally think that it is absolutely ridiculous that the schools are even considering not airing this broadcast. If Obama were Johnny Depp or some other famous person, this would be a mute point. This is a decision that should be left to the parents only. If you don't want your child to watch, then keep them out of school that day. Re-enforcing the importance of education is never a bad thing regardless of whether it is coming from a political figure or some stranger on the street. I hope that he jerks the stimulus money right out of the pockets of the districts that refuse to air this, ie... Osceola County.

I prefer to write the check. I see nothing wrong with that. Politicians simply ask for checks, so why can schools?
