Wow that sounds interesting. I can't wait to see pictures. I'm all the way in Los Angeles, so I can't attend. :/

Itty Bitty Pretty in Pink and Stripes, $2.35 You know when you find a nickel on the street and it somehow makes your day--even though you can't really buy anything for a nickel anymore? But just knowing that maybe this nickel will even out your coin collection to be worth $10, or knowing you've walked away with something you didn't start your day with. Itty Bitty Mini Owl Cards, $2.20 Well, that's how I feel about thank you notes. Usually, when I purchase or trade something on Etsy, my favorite part is opening the package and finding a simple "thanks!"... Continue reading

Them: Anthropologie's Monogram Letters Us: My version of the Fabric Monogram Letters I tell you, after working in fashion for some time, it really kills the whole shopping experience. Knowing that wholesale prices are 50% (sometimes less) than retail prices... It really makes me re-evaluate my "need" for the item. Especially when I know I can make it myself. I was in Anthropologie the other day and I saw these monogram letters. I love the color choices they had, but I didn't really love their $20 price tag. (It says $14 online, but I could have sworn that they were... Continue reading

Oh Deer by Creativity Cards, $3 Ok, I know this is my 3rd post about paper goods I found on Etsy that I have decided I absolutely cannot live without. But, I can't help it. This is just too cool and not sharing it would be selfish. I will be the first to admit that as corny as puns can be, I still laugh when I hear them. And yes, I laughed when I saw this one. And that is why I need these... and everything else in her store. Continue reading

'63 Classic Note Card Set by Lil Epic Prints, $30 Here is what I imagine my life 5 years from now to be like. I'll be married to my dream guy (the kind of couple that would win the grand prize at the Newlywed game), we'll have a house in a quaint town that's small enough for people to know who you are, but big enough for them not to be in your business. Every room in my house will be decorated differently, we may have a Great Dane named Pony or a Pug named Lars (I haven't decided yet),... Continue reading

My boss had a baby shower in July and since then we've been busy writing thank you cards to everyone that attended, sent a gift, or couldn't make it but sent their best. In other words, lots and lots of thank you cards. Since we've already gone through so many sets of them (Papyrus must be happy with us!) I've come to realize how important it is to have a good set of thank you cards in your stash. Why are these so cool? They're pretty neutral! Anyone can use them and not feel weird (there are a lot of... Continue reading

Videos that are narrated like this make me laugh (reminds me of "video days" in high school) BUT there is some good information in here! I think I may be the only person left on Earth that doesn't own a dog, so maybe you can all appreciate this. And, if you're friends with someone that indulges in their dog and you find yourself at a doggy b-day party, you now have a great gift or gift topper! Continue reading

via acraftierworld.com My friend, Amy, from Craftier Magazine posted this yesterday on the blog. Let me list everything I love about this: 1. It's unusual. How many times do you see a clock that not on a unifying board? But instead almost deconstructed and seen as more than just a device for telling time? 2. I would love the frames alone! I ♥ mixing prints and graphics that you wouldn't necessarily think "go together". 3. The paint on the wall. Gray is one of my favorite colors! (I would say favorite, but it really does depend on my mood for... Continue reading

I went over to Joann's today to stock up on my beloved glue gun sticks. For both the small and big guns! (Oh, and note to self, buy from Wal-Mart next time. They're about $2 cheaper!) I never really appreciate my time over there. Workers and patrons never seem to be very friendly. For example, today I was getting 1/8 of a yard of cute polka dot fabric for a future project and here's how the conversation went: Joann's Employee: What are you making? Me: A bracelet. JE: Oh. (long pause) Sounds complicated. Me: Actually it should really be simple,... Continue reading

From Left: Yellow Zombie Bunny, $16.50; Anni-Bear, $20; Brown Zombie Bunny Keychain, $10.50 What an appropriate name for this Etsy store. "Every treat in this shop is knitted and filled with love." And, I'm falling in love with each knitted plushie on here! Plushies range from $5.50 to $20 and at those prices, I know what you're thinking... How can I resist now with those prices?! Exactly. Oh, and as if you're not already sold on this great deal, I spoke to the creator, and she's just as sweet at her toys. Check out Knitted Love to see the great... Continue reading

I'm not sure how it got stuck in my mind that bedskirts need to be white and unexpressive. This beauty from Athropologie has proved to me that even something grazing the floor and covering up your "under the bed shoe collection" can be fun and vibrant. My favorite part: everything. via www.anthropologie.com Continue reading

I need to get this off my chest. THE ETSY CHATROOM IS THE BEST. Because: No perverts present. Well, there might be, but it's all in good spirits. No one attempting to virtually graze your buttock or anything like that. Creative minds. Everyone there is so creative, and the way the chatroom is set up (there's a feature that allows you to check other people's stores and feature IN the chat which items you like) you really start to see what other great talents are out there. Everyone is down to Earth. Sometimes, I am intimidated when the thought runs... Continue reading

I'd love to get into quilting one day. Just the thought of cutting and sewing all those squares though seems daunting! Kudos to you! Can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done. :)

My farm on Facebook's game, FarmVille. Just a few more hours and I have some crops to harvest! Lately, I've been hooked on the Facebook game, FarmVille. There isn't much to it, get some land, plant some seeds, and hope you get to harvest them before they wither. But there's just something about it that draws me to the game--once, twice...ok maybe three times a day. It's probably time for me to adopt a plant or seed and learn to do some real gardening or farming. It's what Martha would do. Continue reading

Most people don't think of Los Angeles when someone says art. In fact, the only think that probably makes Los Angeles #1 in their minds is the movie industry. Oh, and smog filled air. But that's beside the point. Star Wars and LA? Doesn't get much better than that... Part of Sergio's job is to drive all around LA--elevators are everywhere and they all need fixing, in case you didn't know. So, he took me around one afternoon showing me all his favorite spots for art--urban art. Here are a few of my favorites. (It was hard to choose with... Continue reading

I don't wear much make up, but the little make up I do have is BROKEN! I was so upset the day I brought home some blush and opened it only to find that instead of being a nice solid piece of slightly textured rosy powder, it instead looked like the cracked ground of a dessert. This was about a year ago. Yes, that's right, for an entire year, I was carefully opening my blush compact and lightly dipping my brush in so, not to begin an avalanche of pearlescent pigment on my clothing. Until, my sister reminded me of... Continue reading

Being that it's the Friday before Labor Day Weekend, I felt it would be appropriate to do a piece partly about entertaining and well, beer. I've recently become accustomed to the taste of beer (I've only been 21 for a little less than a year now..) and I'm starting to crave the cold bubbles dancing on my taste buds following a bite of warm and gooey pizza. Ah, the joys of fine and healthy dining. That's already a great combo but add this glassware from Z Gallerie into the mix, and we officially have a nice party going. As well... Continue reading
