David Garrard was the best quarterback in training camp. Tannehill showed nothing this preseason to make him worthy of the starting job.
Reminder that there is ONE piece of great news
These past six weeks of training camp and preseason did not exactly deliver tons of great news about the Dolphins. The roster seems to lack talent. The team lost four of four preseason games. And every time we looked up, coaches were ripping players about their lack of performance. There has, ho...
The Dolphins released their best reciever (Chad Johnson), traded their best cornerback (Vontae Davis) and now have released David Garrad, a Pro Bowl a quarterback who had the better training camp of all the quarterbacks on the roster. This organization, looks as if it competes every year to be last place in the league. The Dolphins have let this city down year after year. UM and the Miami Heat are the two teams fans look to every year. Where will this city be without the Miami Hurricanes winning 5 national championships in 20 years? Or the Miami Heat winning 2 championships the past decade? The Dolphins are drafting scrubs like Koa Misi, Clyde Gates, Philip Merling, Patrick Turner, Chad Henne, Pat White, Brian Hartline and the list goes on. None of those guys have talent or swagger.
The OL concerns? Depth
I know there is much concern over the Dolphins offensive line only four days from the start of the regular season against Houston. Is Jake Long healthy? Who is going to play at right guard now that Artis Hicks is on injured reserve? Can rookie Jonathan Martin hold up? Is there cohesion on this u...
UM is looking real good. Thank God this city has the Miami Heat and Miami Hurricanes.
Dolphins cut safety Tyrone Culver
It's is a new day at Dolphins camp and that's often bad news for yesterday's players. Such is the situation for Tyrone Culver, who has been cut by the Dolphins. The Herald's Adam Beasley reports Culver has been let go today as the Dolphins trim players to make room for the (minimum) four players...
Thank God, for UM winning 5 national championships, and the Miami Heat is looking like they're going into full dynasty mode because the Miami Dolphins aint did nothin for this city since the early 70's. If it wasn't for Howard Schellenberger, recruiting kids from the inner city, the city of Miami would not have been well represented as far winning championships. UM made this town what it is today. The Miami Dolphins needs to play with some swagger. The University of Miami football program is the epitome, of the word swagger.
Dolphins reach a 53 man roster (for now)
Let me begin by telling you the following are the moves made today and it will leave a roster that is good only through today. That's because the Dolphins will be back at it tomorrow, putting in waiver claims, trying to make trades, hoping to upgrade the roster as much as possible. So some playe...
I dont see how the Dolphins, can improve by keeping mediocre players like Brian Hartline on the roster. Chad Johnson is a pure talent.
Why Brian Hartline return is great news (PLUS) practice and cuts update
Brian Hartline will return to practice as early as today and, barring a setback, will practice all of next week as the Dolphins prepare for the start of the regular season against Houston. This is huge news for the team. I know, I know, you think I overstate. You think I embellish. But to those...
T.O. Can still run by corners even though he dropped some balls. He is just rusty.
Tannehill playing Wednesday ... but should he?
Joe Philbin and his staff usually sit together two days before a preseason game and map out the playing time for every player in the coming game. When he spoke to the media Monday evening, Philbin had not yet conducted that meeting so he wasn't aware how much his quarterbacks would play. But he ...
Jake Long & Brian Hartline are injury prone. I understand keeping Long, when healthy, he is productive. But why is Brian Hartline still on this team? He was drafted in the fourth round and his numbers have been dismal since he's been here. He doesn't run by anyone.
Jake Long leaves practice with injury
Dolphins left tackle Jake Long left practice moments ago after suffering an undisclosed right leg injury during practice. Long was protecting on a quick pass when he suddenly fell to the ground in a heap of other players. The others got up. Long stayed on the turf inside the Dolphins practice ...
I don't know what the future holds here for Ryan Tannehill, but this is one thing I do know, he is much better than Chad Henne.
Inactives and live blog right here ...
You know Ryan Tannehill will start at quarterback tonight. You know we have a live blog starting at the 8:07 kickoff. Do you know the inactives? Do you know Tannehill is not the only significant rookie starting his first game for Miami? Let's get caught up: Cameron Wake (back), Karlos Dansby (kn...
Nice Throw to Wallace from Tannehill. 12 YDS.

Cam Newton, is spectacular. Ryan Tannehill needs to take notes.

Jeff Ireland was not the problem. The problem was Bill Parcells and Tony Sparano. Stephen Ross made the right decision in keeping Ireland. Remember, this is just his second season as the head guy. The first three seasons, Parcells was the head guy. I really like the Charles Clay pick. We should also keep Todd Bowles as head coach. While watching his interview on Dolphins Weekly, he said to beat the Patriots, were gonna have to score touchdowns and instead of settling for field goals. I have never heard Sparano talk like that. Sparano was just too conservative.
Live blog of Dolphins @ Patriots right here
FOXBORO -- The Patriots have something to play for today. If they beat the Dolphins, they clinch home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. That's a big deal for a team that dosen't lose at home very often. The Dolphins have something to play for today also. They're playing for jobs. They...
What if Bowles wins this week at Buffalo? And then wins next week at New England? And finishes undefeated with a season-finale victory over the Jets?
Then he'll all but ruin our chances of getting Robert Griffin III or Andrew Luck.
What if Todd Bowles turns out to be a revelation?
There is only one candidate to replace Tony Sparano that we know will absolutely, positively interview for the job: Todd Bowles. Bowles, 48, will coach the Dolphins in the final three games of the regular season as their interim coach. He has been told he will interview for the opening once the ...
Hopefully we draft Robert Griffin III. Not taking anything away from Andrew Luck but RG3 is by far the best quarterback of his class.
Dolphins down and seemingly out after loss to Eagles
This was bad. The score, a 26-10 whipping, was bad. The performance of the offensive line, giving up nine sacks, was bad. The fact Miami starting quarterback Matt Moore left the game with concussion-like symptoms is bad. The fact Tony Sparano is unable to win out is bad for him if you recognize ...
I think we should have got a coach from the south to coach the U.
UM extends Al Golden's contract through 2019 season
The University of Miami and head coach Al Golden have agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension that will run through February 1, 2020. This pretty much ends any and all speculation he will be leaving for Penn State, his alma mater. “I look forward to working side-by-side with Coach Gold...
Armando, I see that you are still Jeff Ireland's water carrier and your still on Tony Sparano's nut sack.
Survey says Sparano unpopular but with what constituents?
On the face of it, Tony Sparano is not a popular coach. According to a Sporting News survey of 111 players on 31 teams, the Dolphins coach finished second to Tom Coughlin among coaches players would least like to play for. Coughlin, of the New York Giants, got 22 votes while Sparano got 21 votes...
Tony Sparano should be fired as soon as possible. But Jeff Ireland signed Reggie Bush, Kevin Burnett and Marc Colombo. He also drafted Koa Misi, Reshad Jones, Nolan Carroll, Philip Merling etc. So if Sparano is shown the door, Ireland shouldn't be to far behind. The real culprit is Bill Parcells. He was a great head coach but should have never been hired Executive Vice President of Football Operations. Jerry Jones was right when he said Bill Parcells "ain't worth a sh@#"!
Jets beat Dolphins: Suck for Luck continues
The Dolphins are 0-5 tonight after losing a 24-6 decision to the New York Jets. This team is bad. And the prospects the rest of the season seem bleak. Going to the locker room now to see what the deal is. Will report back
I meant linebacker Kevin Burnett.
Ejection, Brandon? Ejection? Really?
I wish he was just joking. But he wasn't smiling and actually said he was not kidding. "I'm serious," Brandon Marshall said. I assume he knows better. But I'm not sure any more because some things are impossible to figure out and Marshall is one of those, right up there with the true purpose for...
Armando, you sound like a real hater. Do you think B. Marshall literally meant everything he said? If you wanna get rid of him, how do you feel about Jeff Ireland? He is the one who made the trade for him? Who signed Fred Burnett? Drafted Nolan Carroll? Signed Marc Colombo? You're trying to make Brandon Marshall the centerpiece of whats wrong with this team, when you know it starts at the top. Jeff Irlend is just like Matt Millen. Because of him, the Dolphins Organization is just like how the Detroit Lions organization used to be until they hired Martin Mayhew. Don't try to make Brandon Marshall the scapegoat.

Can you blame the guy for not wanting to come play for a losing organization?
So David Garrard saga wasn't about money
There is one side's story. There is the other side's story. And there is the truth. And, here I am, stuck in the middle with you. I am the idiot always trying to chase the truth while both sides often run for cover or tell different versions of the same story. Such is the David Garrard saga. As ...
To the Miami Dolphins Organization, the next time you plan on choosing a General Manager, if your not gonna pick a GM who is from the state of Florida, at least choose one who is from the same region. The southwest region where Jeff Ireland is from (Texas), is where he needs to be. He passes on all South Florida talent. He signed Marc Colombo and passed on Bryant McKinnie who is now starting for the Baltimore Ravens. He signed Reggie Bush, who is not an in between the tackles RB and passed on Willis McGahee who does run in between the tackles and probably would have been cheaper. I have not seen one Herald sportswriter write a column about Jeff Ireland and the horrible job he has done evaluating talent. Not one headline. Its not all Tony Sparano's fault.
2011 starting to resemble 2004 and 2007
Chad Henne is done for the season. He has been told he will require season-ending shoulder surgery and expects to have that surgery next week, a source has confirmed to The Herald's Barry Jackson. The Dolphins are working on adding quarterback Sage Rosenfels to replace Henne on the roster, a sou...
David Garrard is the best quarterback available, and Jeff Ireland settles for Sage Rosenfels? Somebody put the saddle back on This guy's horse so he can go back to Texas with the rest of the Airheads.

If Ireland is brought back to this team to F*@& up another draft, season ticket holders should boycott the 2012 season.
Why Ross has faith (for now) in Jeff Ireland; plus Canes, Heat
WEDNESDAY BUZZ COLUMN Many would say general manager Jeff Ireland is every bit as much to blame, or more, for the Dolphins’ problems as Tony Sparano. So why has Dolphins owner Stephen Ross considered replacing Sparano (and likely will at some point) but not Ireland? For starters, you rarely see ...
Armando, Bill Parcells should not be getting a pass. Jeff Ireland and Tony Sparano, are his guys.
Miami Dolphins lose to San Diego, 26-16
SAN DIEGO -- The first quarter of the season is over and the Dolphins are winless. Sunday's 26-16 loss to San Diego sealed Miami's winless mark at this stage. The Dolphins are one of only four winless teams in the NFL. And I am stunned because although I never would have thought this to be a pla...
"Sean Smith is something of a beast himself. He's 6-3 and can jump to the moon."
Are you serious Armando? Did you see what Joshua Cribbs did Sean Smith? For this guy to have more height than most receivers he's up against, he always seems to get out jumped. Looks like it will be another long day for Sean Smith. And Nolan Carroll is starting again? If the Dolphins wouldn't have drafted him he wouldn't be playing in the NFL. We're the only team that drafts losers.
It'll be 6-3 Sean Smith vs. 6-5 Vincent Jackson
SAN DIEGO -- Vincent Jackson is a beast. He's 6-5 and 230 pounds and runs like a deer. That's bad. Sean Smith is something of a beast himself. He's 6-3 and can jump to the moon. So on Sunday it will be Dolphins cornerback Sean Smith covering chargers receiver Vincent Jackson. All the time, pract...
Armando, I see you like Jimmy Wilson but you didn't mention anything about Nolan Carroll's third bad game in a row, so I guess you like him to huh?
"Except, I asked this source, why such a need to save cap space for players who are basically taking you to a winless record? What's so great about them?"
This organization has four NFL drafts with this team and they haven't drafted one great player.
Five things on my mind this morning
Let me give you a piece of my mind (not that I can spare too much) this morning: 1. The Dolphins are stunning in their defensive fall from grace so far this season. They got lit up by New England. They improved somewhat against Houston but still, it wasn't good enough. And then, most disappointi...
