It's not shallow at all, it's ascetics, which are super important for wedding pictures. Tan lines are tacky and embarrassing, I think the bridesmaids should be paying attention to how they tan if they know what type of dress they're going to be wearing! It's just respectful to the bride.
My wedding's in October, shouldn't be a problem for me. ;)
