Robert, Glad you enjoyed the post. Flash had some terrific covers during the Silver Age. Besides the Flash puppet, the other thing I really like about the cover to Flash 133 is that it is a poster of Abra Kadabra casting the spell. Karen
Mark, The thing I like about the cover to Jimmy Olsen 98 is that it mixes so many different things. DC produced a slew covers where someone was marrying a monster. This one puts a unique spin on that by adding the gorilla and a Tarzan theme. Plus, Superman the Witch Doctor is just so strange. Karen

This Fabulous Chibi Boba Fett Cake was made by my good friend Jean Schapowal at Cakes with Character. This Star Wars bounty hunter is adorable as an edible Chibi character. Boba Fett’s head is much larger than his body in this chibi design. He has a blaster in one hand and in the other hand he has the string of a wafer paper helium balloon with the image of Han Solo in carbonite. He has on brown boots and gray and green armor. His utility belt is brown. Parts of his arm armor are brown also. His helmet is green... Continue reading

Kreative Pastries and Cake Pops makes the coolest Disney Princess Cake Pops. In this post, I’m going to be featuring three different sets of their cake pops which feature Disney Princesses. This first set includes Elsa, Ariel, Jasmine, Rapunzel, Anna, Aurora, Mulan, Tiana, Snow White, Sofia the First, Meridia, Pocahontas, Cinderella, and Belle. The details on these cake pops are terrific. Since Rapunzel has longer hair, her hair is wrapped around the cake pop stick. Mulan is one of my favorite Disney characters. In most of her movie, she is dressed to disguise the fact that she is a woman.... Continue reading

Heavens to Murgatroyd that’s one great Snagglepuss Cake. This cool cake was made by Stacked Cakes. Snagglepuss looks perfect. He is wearing his usual outfit of a white upturned collar, white shirt cuffs, and a black string tie. The detail on the face is terrific, he even has whiskers. I really like how Snagglepuss he looks like he is getting ready to exit stage left. Here is a close-up of Snagglepuss’ face. The detail is wonderful. Heavens to Betsy! While researching this post, I found out something I didn’t know about Snagglepuss. Snagglepuss didn’t start off as the actor we... Continue reading

Meredith from Baked Happy makes absolutely wonderful cookies. In this post, I’ll be showcasing her Disney themed cookies. I’m starting with these cool Mickey and Minnie Mouse Cookies. These cute cookies would make most toddlers sing “hot dog hot dog hot diggity dog”. These cookies feature everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf. I bet these cookies taste just a good whether you are in deep, deep, deep, deep snow or in summer. These Tinker Bell 4th Birthday Cookies are terrific. My daughter would have loved these cookies when she was little. I really like how each cookie has Tinker Bell in a... Continue reading

This lovely Minion Wedding Cake was made by Very Unique Cakes by Veronique. Veronique also made this gorgeous cake that I featured at Easter. This is a two layer cake with a bride and groom minions on top. My favorite part of the cake is the minion bride. She has a big toothy grin, brown hair, and is wearing a purple dress. The design is brilliant because her brown hair is accented by the leather belt on the 2nd layer and the wood on the 1st layer. Likewise, her purple dress is accented by the purple cake board and purple... Continue reading

I never see you anymore Come out the door It's like you've gone away We used to be best buddies And now we're not I wish you would tell me why! Do you wanna build a snowman? These cool Supergirl Cookies were made by The Truffle Pop Shoppe. There are two cookies in this set. The first is a cookie shaped like a word balloon. The cookie is blue with dark blue dots in it so it looks like the way comic books used to be printed. Inside the word balloon is the classic slogan usually associated with Superman – “It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane…”. The second cookie in the set features Supergirl. She is wearing one of her classic costumes. This looks closest to Supergirl’s second costume. On her original costume, her skirt was blue.... Continue reading

This is my week for Disney Afternoon themed treats! Yesterday, I featured DuckTales Cookies and today I’ve got this wonderful TaleSpin Cake made by Cakedreams. The cake features Baloo, doing what he does best …. relaxing. To the side of the cake is the Sea Duck. TaleSpin was a cartoon made by Disney that was part of the Disney Afternoon. It took characters from The Jungle Book and placed them in an action adventure aviation themed cartoon. It sounds like an insane idea, but the end results is one of the best cartoon series Disney has made. TaleSpin centered around... Continue reading

These wonderful DuckTales Cookies were made by Baked Happy. Just looking at these cookies makes me smile. They bring back memories of my husband and I programming the VCR to record DuckTales so we could watch it in the evenings after work. These terrific cookies feature Uncle Scrooge, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. How do you tell Huey, Dewey, and Louie apart? I use this famous line - The brightest hue of the three is red (Huey), the color of water, dew, is blue (Dewey), and that leaves Louie, and leaves are green. It is a wonderful time to be DuckTales... This stunning Star-Lord Cake was made by Ant Roman from Nerdache Cakes. Ant is one of the best bakers in the world. She makes cakes, like this Winnie the Pooh / Doctor Who Mash-Up, that blow my mind!!! She also makes amazing cookies and cupcakes like these 8-Bit Legend of Zelda Cookies. If that isn’t enough, every month Ant releases a new Nerache Box. Ant is now taking on her biggest challenge – opening a bakery and store where she can work her magic and people can stop by and purchase her amazing treats. To do this, she has started...
