This lovely Chibi Captain America Cake was made by Sweet Success. Both the Captain America figure and cake are terrific. Cap is standing on his shield. I love the way the cake sides look like an America flag. It has red and white stripes and white stars on a blue background. The combination of the America Flag and Captain America made this cake the perfect choice for the 4th of July. Chibi Captain America Happy 4th of July!!! Continue reading

These cool She-Ra cupcakes were made by The Magical Cupcake Company. The Magical Cupcake Company is located in Guildford, Surrey, UK. These awesome cupcakes feature three types of cupcakes: white cupcakes with black writing on them, cupcakes with yellow or red Happy Birthday buttons, and a cupcake featuring She-Ra: The Princess of Power. This trio of cupcakes is too cool. The top cupcake features She-Ra, while the bottom two spell out her name. Here is a close-up of the She-Ra cupcake. I really like how She-Ra was made from layers of fondant placed on top of each other. It gives... Continue reading

These cute Chibi Superhero Cookies were made by Cookies Art by Shirlyn. They feature Green Lantern, Superman, Wolverine, Captain America, Batman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the Hulk. Shirlyn’s chibi versions of each character is so cute! I can’t decide if I like the superheroes or the cookies spelling out the birthday boy’s name more. I love how words and the number five on these cookies look like comic book sound effects. I like how the background color for each cookie fits perfectly with the character. The reason this works so well is that the characters are raised and have a... Continue reading

Thanks. Everything was hand made. I chose a color set for the pieces to tie everything together since there were so many different themes. I figured out what I could make using fondant that used those colors and fit the theme. I used a pattern mat to make the pattern for the bases. I used sculpting tools to help shape some of the fondant pieces.

Some comic books show Captain America’s costume as blue chainmail. There is a large white star on top of the blue chainmail. His helmet is blue leather with a white letter ‘A’ on top. There are white wings on the sides of the helmet. Captain America’s ears are not covered by his helmet. Here’s a side view of the cake. Here’s a close-up of Captain America’s face. The detail of his eyes, ears, nose, mouth are amazing. Continue reading
