I'm in Toronto after a couple of American Airlines flights and it's colder than the space between a witches tits. Yikes! The flights were good, uneventful but did you know AA charges for the first bag?! Bastards. Flew over Chicago in the early evening and looked down at the lights and skyscrapers of a massive metropolis I've never been to. I wondered, as I looked out over the gray scene, how many rock and roll bands were playing down there right now. I want to play Chicago, I want to roll into town on The Black Currents' Express and rock... Continue reading

Cool morning here in "sunny" LA. Here're some blog-esque musings from The Black Currents' wild haired drumming machine: TBC in 2010 - The R&R adventure continues! We are a primordial soup, bubbling with excitement and possibility and suddenly a hand grips the edge pulling a mysterious new life form from the depths of creativity. So fun. Looking forward to the path forward with The Black Currents. If I wasn't in the group I'd be our biggest fan. Every new song takes us further. I can't wait to share the goodness with the world. Tin Star Orphans - My brother's amazing... Continue reading

The Black Currents have been described as: "Original", "Fun", "Thoughtful", "Kick-ass Rock Show" - Gareth K. Bennett, drummer for The Black Currents Tomorrow night The Black Currents, The REAL Black Currents will be hitting the stage at Club Good Hurt on Venice Blvd. and changing your world. I love this band! You know, it's all moving so beautifully fast, like a drunken tryst, where both of you know exactly what the other wants and needs, and without words... it happens. We love making this music. Continue reading

Shock. I stepped back, my mouth agape, my blood cold and my eyes drying. Its fingers swiping through the space before me, grasping unsuccessfully for my hair, skin or clothes. I was stunned, I wasn't breathing and all I could do was stumble back away from the cage. I slipped on a old paint can and fell. Laying on the cement floor, I could smell the filth of the thing, the thing in the cage. I had to get away. Running on pure adrenaline, I pushed myself off the floor as it screamed and rattled it's cage like an animal.... Continue reading

Matt and I had one of our attic rehearsals with the impressive and small 1962 Skylark amp. The Black Currents are on the march! We timed out the set and it looks like we are ready. Jammed out a couple of covers. One 'Big Sugar' song and another by Creation. It's going to be a fun show. I can't wait. Continue reading

I was watching the TV show The IT Crowd and a character emailed 911. It made me think. Then it passed. The Black Currents, the real The Black Currents, not some imposter The Black Currents, have a gig! Damn, we have to get with a show calendar. Or a list, yeah, just a list of shows. Watched Jennifer Lynch's Surveillance last night. Very dark, very cool. Some weak directorial choices but overall a dark, funny, sexy flick. I think it's the first time on film I've seen an orgasm / death together *yikes!* Continue reading
