I see why you grin when you see the robot guy - I just saw the picture and I smiled. Everything looks wonderful!
May 2011 photos at FOUND. Drawing for camera earrings!
This post is going to have LOTS of photos. A couple months ago, I got a new camera. I'm still playing with it and have lots to learn, but this is fun! Can you tell the difference? Look these pictures over, then comment at the end of this post to register for a chance to win a pair of camera ...
Reading your blog makes me smile ;-)
Smell the coffee
I am not a morning person. But I have to grin when I pull this vintage cup out of the cupboard and fill it with my morning coffee. This woman is ready to take on the world. Love that yellow smiling sun in the background. I've had a pair of these cups for years. It's marked Grindley - t...
Looking at the Christmas tree with ornaments made by our kids 20+ years ago, along with ornaments they have given us in recent years.
5 gifts for $5 (or less) at FOUND
Need ideas of inexpensive stocking stuffers and little gifts? I started to write this post about FIVE gifts and stocking stuffers under $5, but couldn't stop at five because everywhere I turned I found more thrifty things that fit the bill: 1. FOUND magazine, issue #7. Just in from the prin...
And our mom still loves Halloween and "tricking" the kids. About 5 years ago when she was in Oak Creek at our sister Ann's house, while her grandkids were out trick or treating, she sat on their front porch and made each kid come all the way up on the porch for their treat and gave them one single m&m. Not one package - one single m&m.
When Ann realized what she was doing, although she thought it was funny, she called the kids back and gave them a package of m&ms. Needless to say, her house was the talk of the neighborhood.
Happy Halloween!!
Halloween treats
This year Halloween is on a Saturday and there will be activities in the Farmer's Market and Trick-or-Treating in the shops. We'll also have a free little Halloween give-away for anybody who comes in on Saturday. Some customers got to reminiscing at the shop today about store bought vs ...
We went to a birthday party for a 2 year old yesterday and he got a couple of books and when he opened the first one he looked at the cover (which had a black truck) for just a second and then put it aside but when he opened the second book it had a colorful cover and he looked at it for quite awhile and then sat down and opened the book to look at the other pictures. I can just imagine him seeing this cover and trying to figure out what he was holding and why he had on a hat and then sitting down and asking his mom to read it.
Philip Christian Stead artwork and book at FOUND!
What an amazing find this children's book is for FOUND! It is entirely typeset using vintage toy printing sets AND the backgrounds are filled with bits and pieces of old letters and advertising and postage stamps.... The author-illustrator lives in Ann Arbor...and unbeknownist to me ha...
My favorite doll was Francie. She was alot like Barbie but everybody had those so I felt special to have something different. When I was in 5th grade, I had to have my appendix out and wanted her with me but had left her at a friend's house. My sister made several trips to her house before she found them at home and could get her for me. Francie was pretty special to me.
My husband is a big fan of It's a Wonderful Life ~ I'll keep my eyes open for a George Bailey doll.

Red Pyrex Memories
To enter the Week #3 Blog Contest, scroll to the next post and click on comments tab at bottom. Often finding something for the shop triggers memories. Take these red Pyrex dishes for example. I remember eating on plates like these when I was a little girl. It was in the days when we at...
The pig at the lake didn't fly and wasn't as cute as the ones in your shop but the apple in the hole where the tail was cut out made it worth looking at.
I know how upset you were when you lost the comments so I hope those people all read this blog and comment again. But still hope I'm the winner ;-)
missing contest....and a wonderful party
If you're looking for the FOUND Blog Contest, Week #1 ....to enter or to see if you are the winner... I have a confession. I accidentally deleted the comments on Sunday night. Then while I was trying to fix it, I must have done something that deleted the whole darn post. The Helpdesk at Typep...
