Haha, poor TA.. he looks a little "overshadowed" by Rudy Gay in that commercial.
Tony Allen is a fine actor
That's Tony Allen and Rudy Gay in a Grizz promo about their upgraded defense. Notice how Tony Allen coolly delivers the line "Hey, ain't that Jason Williams over there?" That's Pacino-esque. I mean... killer delivery. I'm shocked... SHOCKED... he didn't appear in more promos for the C...
I'm not bothered by Dwight not getting suspended. In fact, I think it's better if he stays put. Sometimes teams let down when another team's best player is out. I still think it was ridiculous though that we lost KG for a game for that love tap to J-Rich w/the elbow.
No suspension for Dwight
According to WEEI, the Flagrant 1 will stand, and it will not be upgraded to a flagrant 2... which would have resulted in a 1-game suspension for Dwight Howard. Makes sense. Flagrant 2 might have been a little too much. I'm ok with no suspension... but I'm sure some of you are not. So allow...
I'm glad they're all picking the Cavs. ESPN's college basketball "experts" all picked against Duke this year too. Proving they don't know anything.
And cue the disrespect card
I'm looking forward to all these guys being very wrong. Thanks Scott
I miss Leon. He always managed to not only get rebounds, but convert them into buckets while getting fouled in the process. It was an underrated contribution that we're missing this year.
Enemy Chatter: "There was nobody there."
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Orlando. “Turned the corner with my right hand, took it to the basket and was expecting the defense to collapse,” he said. “I was s...
"Sundays feel like Sundays" Ha! God, I love KG.
Your Morning Dump... Where TGIF means nothing to KG
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying a good morning dump. Informed the Celtics were 0-2 on Fridays in November, Kevin Garnett didn't seem worried about the losing trend. Particularly ...
I can see Rondo, with his speed, thinking he might outrun LeBron and make the play, but Ray... Ray really needs to stop and shoot it. He's not beating LeBron to the rim.
Maybe guys should start upfaking LeBron or something
LeBron's chase-down blocks on Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen were spectacular. Here's the thing... it's kinda becoming his "thing." Maybe guys should stop and up-fake... or try to glide under the hoop and go for the reverse lay up. Cuz 'Bron is comin... ain't no doubt about that. Time for p...
Those Rondo to KG dunks were glorious last night. Sweetney needs to lose a massive amount of weight, but a dead tree stump would contribute more than TA. He's always hurt.
Do We Really Need Much More From KG?
KG's line from last night's game: 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks in 22 minutes. This production is enough to help us win a title (Had he been able to give us half that in the playoffs last year, we would have blown past Orlando). Yes, the numbers will increase with the minutes, but KG's ...
I love Perk. He doesn't sugar coat it.
Perk Takes a Shot at Chris Bosh
Via CelticsBlog: He started off the game, got aggressive. He got calls early. I think… as the game went on the refs started letting us play physical, you know they’re a finesse team. They’re not a physical team. You can’t be somebody you’re not. So I think the refs just started letting us play a...
Yeah, the Vince Carter vote is baffling. He can still score, but the biggest impact? If you follow the logic of the question, the biggest impact would be Blake Griffin (because the Clippers finally get someone w/leadership skills who doesn't suck) or Shaq (because the Cavs needed someone stronger than old tissues under the basket). Ron/Sheed/RJeff are joining teams that already had serviceable people in their positions, so the impact isn't as great.
NBA GMs: Not As Smart As You Might Think
NBA.com polled 30 GMs about the upcoming season: Which team will win NBA Finals 2010? 1. Los Angeles Lakers 60.7% 2. Boston Celtics 17.9% 2. Cleveland Cavaliers 17.9% 4. San Antonio Spurs 3.6% Which team will win the Eastern Conference? 1. Boston Celtics 50.0% 2. Cleveland Cavaliers 42.9% ...
I think their marketing department is foolish to shut you out. You advertise their brand in a positive way. Besides, it's MEDIA DAY. If you won't recognize blogs on Media Day, when will you? Seems archaic and short-sighted to me. They should look to the Suns organization as an example of effective marketing through inclusion.
Our long national nightmare is finally over
Today... NBA basketball returns. Sort of. Guys will be in Waltham in uniform and answering questions... which counts right now. And we look forward to bringing you a first-hand perspective. Granted, it will be someone else's first-hand perspective since the team has shut us out... again. A...
