-- Tallon said assistant general manager Mike Santos has taken over the negotiations with the agent for restricted free agent Dmitry Kulikov.
"Mike is really good at what he does,'' Tallon said. "I'm sure he'll get him done.''
Well, he didn't get Garrison done.
#FlaPanthers Monday Notebook: Huberdeau Takes Day Off, OK; Injury Updates (Kind Of) for Gudbranson, Goc and Bergenheim
TWITTER: @GeorgeRichards Rookie forward Jonathan Huberdeau didn't practice Monday as the Panthers gave him a day off because of what coach Kevin Dineen described as "a few aches and pains" coming off the World Junior Championship tournament in Russia. GM Dale Tallon said Huberdeau would be on t...
If he sticks to his guns about not negotiating during the season, Panthers HAVE TO TRADE HIM. It's not a question whether he wants to stay here or not, very likely he does, or whether the team will likely go the extra mile to keep him, very likely they will, it's the offers he will generate as a UFA which will very likely be way over what the Panthers are willing and/or justified to give Weiss. Is Stephen Weiss worth the $7mil plus a year contract he will get on the open market? No. Would he be willing to take $1.5mil to $2 mil a year less to remain a Panther? Extremely doubtful as that would be asking a lot from the most loyal of players. Should the Panthers gamble on that loyalty and pray he spurns much more tempting offers he will receive? I think not. Not when Steve's home team is Toronto and the Leafs will offer him a ridiculous contract.
STEPHEN WEISS: No Negotiation on New Contract If Lockout Ends
BY GEORGE RICHARDS TWITTER: @GeorgeRichards As the NHL lockout is now in its third month, there is growing concern the entire 2012-13 season could be lost. If that's the case, there's a possibility Stephen Weiss may have played in his final game with the Florida Panthers. Weiss, who has played i...

#nhlJets Get Touchdown, Close in on #FlaPanthers in 7-0 Rout
BY DAVID LARKINS Special to On Frozen Pond/The Miami Herald WINNIPEG, Man. — Not even sure that menace to the Winnipeg Jets, Kris Versteeg, could have helped the Florida Panthers on Thursday night. The Jets struck for quick goals in the first period and added four more in the third to hammer th...
They would hold onto his rights if they pay him $4 million dollars, otherwise he becomes a UFA. As I said other places, a no harm, no foul trade with my only beef being if Dale Tallon is so willing to throw a million bucks around he could just as easily throw some my way!!!
Florida Panthers Stay Busy Before Deadline, Add Wojtek Wolski in Deal with New York Rangers
RALEIGH -- The Panthers continued to add forward depth on Saturday afternoon after acquring winger Wojtek Wolski from the Rangers. Florida sent a third round pick in 2013 and San Antonio defenseman Mike Vernace to the Blueshirts. Wolski is on his way to Raleigh now and should be in the lineup ...
So what Dallas Asst.Coach are the Dolphins going to hire since no one else would want to coach with Ireland as GM.
Jeff Ireland will return for 2012, Sparano will not
Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland is totally safe as of this moment. Tony Sparano is not. I am reporting the Dolphins plan to let Ireland continue in his job with the team beyond this season. The plan is also to fire Sparano, although the team is adamant no final decision has been made on th...
Ah oh!
Florida Panthers Goalie Scott Clemmensen Injured; Has Knee Surgery Monday
Florida goalie Scott Clemmensen missed practice on Monday after having his knee checked out this weekend. According to the Panthers, Clemmensen needed to have a 'minor procedure at Doctors Hospital in Miami. As of yesterday, I heard Clemmensen could miss at least the first few games of the re...
Honestly, with all the new players one doesn't know how the Panthers will come together this season so I can't be offended by THN prediction. The only prediction you should take to the bank is this coming Panther season will be very interesting.
The Hockey News Not Impressed with Florida Panthers Rebuild
Dale Tallon and Mike Santos did some heavy the past eight months or so, tearing down the Panthers roster just to be able to rebuild it in July. The Panthers are a much different team than they were to start -- or end -- last season. Florida finished in last place in the Eastern Conference for ...
I vote for a parade down Sunset Strip in downtown Sunrise with ticker tape being thrown from the city center's skyscrapers...Oh, wait?
Bruins Parade Televised Saturday ... Where Would Panthers Go?
The Dallas Mavericks had their parade on Thursday. The Bruins will have theirs on Saturday morning (more below). Let us gaze WAY into the future and ponder this: What IF the Panthers were to win the Stanley Cup? Where would the team hold the parade? Since the Panthers play way out in the burbs...
Wondering if the Panthers could trade the rights to Gudbranson for a top forward, Carter or Spezza or Sharp, then draft Larsson at #3. He very well might be there at three, might be the best player in this draft but unless the Cats deal Guds or an Ellerby or less likely a Kulikov, he wouldn't fill a need as the Cats have used their last 3 first rounders on blueliners.
Panthers Assistant GM Mike Santos: No Worries on Erik Gudbranson; No Talks with Mike Santorelli; Panthers Like Tomas Vokoun and More
Spoke with Panthers assistant general manager Mike Santos on Tuesday afternoon and have a number of updates regarding the Panthers. The biggest news is that Santos has refuted various reports that say prospect Erik Gudbranson isn't happy with the Panthers, saying Brian Skrudland talks to him ...
