The replacement refs are actually a good thing in the long term. Short term it's going to be erratic, but the newbies WILL adjust. Just because the locked out refs are NBA refs, it hardly proves that they are the best. In fact, probably half or more of the current brood are just not very good for a variety of reasons. The NBA should break the union, and afterward only rehire the competent officials....too many have held their jobs as an act of tenure and not merit. The NBA has suffered in credibility because of this. MLB did this with the umpires union, and after the initial growing pains, improved their quality significantly.
