Seeew... Before I take you on a journey of new fabrics arriving this Spring & Summer, I want to thank those of you who actively support our Shoppe whether through purchases online or in-store. My time is worth something (I would hope) and it's how this blog is brought to you. I also wanted to introduce you to how my world gets made here on the blog! And it all starts with these two creative gems pictured below and a super sweet song from the Broadway musical, Amelie! "I've saved up everything I know" Pictured above is Christine (on the... Yes it makes sense. I think there is way too much Social Media but I understand why. People are literally living on their phones and that's a little sad to me. I was just noticing the other day that nobody knows how to compose a proper email. Formalities and email etiquette are out the door. What happened to greetings like, "Dear...." or "To whom it may concern" and knowing something about the company or people they are writing to? It's jaw dropping. There's a quote from the American Adventure at the end of the beautiful montage Mark Twain quotes a quote from Steinbeck about how our society will never survive the dangers of too much leisure. Let's get busy out there! I for one have no desire to seek constant leisure. I like to produce!
Hi Andrea! I would so enjoy it! I'll have to check it out! Thanks for letting me know!
Thank you Jody! I'm glad you enjoy the more personal nature of blogs. I do too! Thanks for following!
You're welcome Mrs. Van Landuyt. Everytime I see your last name I think of an epic 80's tv show like Dynasty or Dallas. LOL.
Oh no Patty! That's not good. Come to think of it I think my personal got hacked too as one day I went to post and my account was gone. Happy Fat Tuesday to you too and I'm glad you still check in on here!
Seeew... Let me first begin with: I have many pictures to show you seeew I'm going to try and be brief. Also...I'll bring back the tunes for my next post. Today is just super important because.... The "Mothership" and I ordered more new fabrics today! It's definitely worthy of pulling a Patrick...and jumping off a stage! This could be love...ya'll! Quilting should be the time of your life and these fabrics will ensure that! The collections that I'm about to show you are scheduled for May-July release, which means the majority of what was shown is for Christmas 2018! Of... Continue reading

Seeew.... Check out this all-new version of one of our absolute favorite applique quilt patterns! The "Mothership" wanted a new colorway of this Shoppe classic for our new location here in Charbonneau! I can't blame block already down and I'm hooked! I'm super excited for this project as I know she has a fabulous sense of color arrangement and this will be finished by November just in time for Christmas! If you've always wanted to learn applique techniques, this is a great block of the month for you! You can participate in-store by attending the in-store meetings (which are... Continue reading

Seeew... For just a moment, let's take in the sweetness of Lori Holt's new Bake Shop 2 to the sounds of the broadway hit, "Waitress!" Come on and join me while I show you, "What Baking Can Do..." Make it work...make it easy, make it clever, craft it into pieces..." Sounds familiar doesn't it? "I'll place it on display..." We think Bake Sale 2 is one of Lori's best collections. It's full of sugar, butter and flour - absolutely delicious! With this collection, the "Mothership" stocked up on literally everything. Pre-cuts including 5" Stackers, 10" Stackers and 2.5" Rollie Pollie... Continue reading

Seeew... Farm Girl Vintage continues to be very popular out here at the Shoppe. It is a fabulous skill builder and will perfect your piecing skills. We strongly suggest using the Bloc Loc Rulers for the best outcome. We have a complete Farm Girl Vintage Tool Set here. Trust me, it will be your best friend. If you haven't been into the Shoppe, we have a clothesline in which we made one set of the blocks to hang on. The other two sets of 48 blocks will be going into the Mothership and Christine's quilts. But my point is ---... Continue reading

Seeew... It sounds like a top secret mission, doesn't it? Project Red. (This is where I should tell you that my Project Red Fat Quarter Bundle is available here and contains 15 Fat Quarters.) It's actually the new Sweetwater collection and it is perfection for your next Redwork project or lots of cute little Valentine's projects. And hey...if those don't jam with your butter than you always can use more red and white fabrics in your stash. They are classic, timeless - never going out of style. Like...ever. In fact I can remember back to when we opened in 2005... Continue reading

Seeew.... It's a new year and I'm going to post new posts. I say this every time and every day I still get people who are looking on Pintrest of pictures from years ago wanting me to identify it. Folks, my focus is on current product and current workshops. At this point I don't know what else to tell you about Pinterest. It's not a reliable source for current product that we carry, but our If you're here on my blog, items in current dated posts are what you'll find on our website. If you're looking at a post... Seeew... Come alive in 2018 ya'll! Oh yes...he's back with more of The Greatest Showman! It's number #1 on iTunes! Just listen to those lyrics and then get up and shake it down! For anyone who is searching for a way to break free when it comes to creativity...go see it and do your soul some good! Would you believe that I'm about to watch it for the third time???? The first time I won tickets from 20th Century Fox seeew I feel a little guilty. Gotta help that box office number! At this point, I should get a "cut"... Continue reading

Seeew... Before I even begin this must do me a favor and view it on your desktop. An iPhone or any phone will not do this "post" justice as it is laid out to the music. I'm never about just posting pictures for the sake of pictures. There is a story here...and that story is you. "I saw the sun begin to dim and felt the winter wind blow cold..." It was one year ago when the "Mothership" made the decision to leave our previous location. I have never shown the above pictures until now and I have never... Continue reading

Seeew... I haven't felt this much passion for a movie since Idina Menzel treated D23 audiences to the first performance of "Let It Go" in August 2013...three months before Frozen's release in November of that same year. If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, between every product share, I've been sharing every new musical discovery for the new movie...The Greatest Showman. I'll admit it...I'm obsessed! Seeew much seeew that last night when this song "A Million Dreams" dropped in my iTunes, my eyes were swelling with puddles as memories of the past looked on... Every quilt shop, however big... Seeew... If you haven't figured it out yet, I love music seeew therefore you will always find a lot of it on our blog. Everytime the "Mothership" (aka Jan...for the newbies) starts to pull fabrics for a new quilt sample, I start hearing a song. It doesn't matter to me who the artist is or the type of music...if it makes me sway to the rhythm and brings me joy, I'm sharing it. With today's song...I figured I would provide a romantic touch to my blog. Two words...Carlos Rivera. Um...who 'dat? Uh...don't know but I'm going to go out on... Continue reading

Hi Hannah, If you're looking at Pinterest, you should know that people have over the years taken my pictures and reposted them on Pinterest. Our current products are available for purchase on our website This sounds like something from years ago and if you don't find it on our blog it's because I've been posting new blogs. I don't do tutorials on my blog because I'm showing products to purchase, fabrics, kits, patterns, etc. and we teach classes here at the Shoppe. Thanks so much for following!
Thank you Louise. Happy Holidays to you too!
You're welcome Cynthia! See you in December!
Hi Joni! Have a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas! Thanks for still checking in from...Georgia? At least I think you lived in Georgia.:-)
I guess we will see you in December!
Seeew... This probably should be two posts, but I'm going to inundate you anyway. I must confess...I'm in love with that wool project pictured above! Kathy Cardiff of The Cottage at Cardiff Farms designed this adorable wool project exclusively for our Wool N' Harvest Workshop which was held here at the Shoppe on Saturday. Kathy follows our Shoppe on Instagram and when designing this year's project she wanted to pay tribute to our "squirrel friends." As the end of the season approaches, these little critters are clearly stepping up their game in the gathering department! Squirrels are everywhere! Kathy incorporated... Continue reading
