Seeew... This probably should be two posts, but I'm going to inundate you anyway. I must confess...I'm in love with that wool project pictured above! Kathy Cardiff of The Cottage at Cardiff Farms designed this adorable wool project exclusively for our Wool N' Harvest Workshop which was held here at the Shoppe on Saturday. Kathy follows our Shoppe on Instagram and when designing this year's project she wanted to pay tribute to our "squirrel friends." As the end of the season approaches, these little critters are clearly stepping up their game in the gathering department! Squirrels are everywhere! Kathy incorporated... Continue reading

Seeew... It's official! Our first Autumn here in Charbonneau has arrived! If you haven't been out here to our new location, you're missing out on Mother Nature's incredible show. But don't worry, I've been capturing all of the magic every day! I absolutely love this picture. All roads lead home and this one lead us directly to ours here at the Shoppe! When I was a teen I would join the "Mothership" as she set out on roads like these to visit her favorite little shops. She would avoid taking friends as they would be either too opinionated or try... Seeew... When it comes to the name of our latest Moda collection which arrived last week, I can only think about...feeding the birds. I just need to find the steps of St. Paul around here... The new collection is of course the beautiful Tuppence by one of Moda's newest designers, Shannon Gillman Orr. But let's back up to Mary for a minute. How can anyone not love Mary? Practically perfect in every way she is. Who wouldn't want to be tucked in by this woman??? BTW scroll to the end to see Emily Blunt as the new Mary Poppins for... Continue reading

Seeew... I asked my niece the other day "What's your favorite song? What's the jam that rocks your world right now?" She says..."Imagine Dragons." For the first time in my four decades I felt out of touch. "Um...who?" She's like, "Uncle Brian....Thunder." Again I had to say, "Huh? Who?" And here we are... Completely... Swoonworthy! I think we definitely have some of the same love of music...her and I. Not a yes-sir, not a follower Fit the box, fit the mold Have a seat in the foyer, take a number I was lightning before the thunder I get it. Being... Continue reading

Seeew... I woke up on the right side of the bed this morning and I couldn't help but think about the good time we had during our A Quilting Life Weekend Workshops with Moda designer, Sherri McConnell! Sherri designs fabrics for Moda with her daughter Chelsi and also writes her popular A Quilting Life blog. I know I said I would share September's "What's For Breakfast?" Club project but if you promise me to always be down for a good time....I'll get to that in the next post! For now I'll let the pictures tell the story, but one thing... Continue reading

Seeew... If you grew up in the 1980's, there is a possibility you were forever moved by the moment Widow Tweed is forced to say goodbye to Todd in The Fox & The Hound. If you weren't...well...you have no soul. LOL. From the moment she wakes him up from his little basket I start to...melt! Then...when she says these words, "Goodbye may seem forever, farewell is like the end, but in my heart's the memory...." I just die. By the time she removes the collar....just....don't even look at me. Look at some gorgeous Autumn leaves instead. LOL. Sigh I still... Continue reading

Seeew... Last week I shared a post about the importance of supporting your local brick and mortar quilt shops. This shouldn't be a controversial subject, but whenever I bring it up, it rattles a few feathers. To me...it's simply common sense. Shopping your brick and mortars combined with staying seeew-cial helps to create a local quilting community. Better put on them "No Excuses" Jeans because I'm feisty on this subject. If you can't shop a local brick and mortar, then make sure if you're ordering on-line that you are ordering from a website that has a brick and mortar you... Continue reading

Seeew... I have to hand it to Taylor Swift. The girl knows how to get her message across. Nearly 300 million views in almost two weeks! What I love most about her, is she challenges the "tilted stage" straight up. Who knew I was such a "Swiftie?" I happened to notice recently that Quilt World has a rather "tilted stage" when it comes to supporting local quilt shops. It appears we now are competing directly with designers selling their own fabrics. While they have been doing this for some time now, it just has me questioning seeew much. Maybe even... Seeew... Life is about to get good because not only am I going to share with you the new fabrics coming to the Shoppe....but guess who is making a comeback?! Shania Twain!!!! I stumbled across her new song the other night and I have purchased the first three songs available! I'm hooked! It's the perfect video to celebrate the end of Summer and the perfect song to move on from betrayal. If you haven't ever had that in your life, be thankful. Apparently it has taken her a decade to get over it...from what I've read. She's not calling me... Continue reading

Seeew... There are two upcoming club-like programs you may want to consider getting signed up for as soon as possible. They are, as the headline suggests...our new Border Creek Station Mystery Club featuring Authentic Etc. and our new session of the very popular Farm Girl Vintage B.O.M. which I have covered in full detail here. Both clubs have an in-store and on-line option to participate. You may recall waaaay back in 2009 or 2010 the talented women behind Moda's Sweetwater released one of their first collections called, "Authentic." It was an absolute hit and sold out immediately. I can see... Continue reading

Seeew... It's the announcement many wait for each year! Registration has opened for our 9th Annual Homespun & Holly Christmas Workshop! But first...yes, the special song from my good friend and former Disney colleague, Brian Huff...will be back for some holiday entertaining! Did you see our Instagram post yesterday? If you haven't noticed, I'm kind of in love with Instagram. Quick little bits of info without having to create lengthy blogs. Especially when people are just "hunting" for product info. But that's a topic for another day... This year we are excited to announce that we will have special guest... Continue reading

Seeew... I have a lot on my mind after what clearly a rough start to the week! If you don't follow us on Facebook, this post will be irrelevant to you. Let's just say that a small portion of the population certainly should have paid more attention to this lesson in their childhood. When I was younger my parents would point out that "the world doesn't revolve around you" whenever I misbehaved. I wasn't always a gem ya know. In fact, I have never claimed to be. Whenever they would say that to me, the only thing my mind could... Continue reading

Seeew... The Summer season is always a busy one around here but I finally got some down time to sit here and show you everything you're possibly missing out on! Much has been happening over the last few weeks between planning our Summer-Licious New Location Celebration schedule for July 15 and the Row by Row Experience! I'm still getting all the details finalized for our big party, but here's a video clip that features some of the highlights below! I can tell you that the party begins at 12pm! We will have special performances, prize drawings, demos, face painting, a... Continue reading

Seeew... No, that's not "Holly." That's the "Mothership"...her name btw is Jan. About five years ago I adopted the name "Mothership" because I had some woman harrassing me through email and comments about how I referred to her as "my mom" and tried to mock the fact that we are a mother/son team. It was getting seeew bad that I started to not want to post. Well, unbeknownst to me our loyal blog readers enjoyed the nickname seeew much that it just took hold and the "Mothership" was born. The moral of the story...take someone's negative and turn it upside... Continue reading
