Hi Mozzie16, Thank you for your comment. You are absolutely right...some of that stuff does need to go to the shed. Right now, though, it's soo hot out you can't stay in the shed for more than a few mins. When it gets a little cooler we have more shelves to put up and then we'll move that stuff out.
Organizing the Laundry Room
For months now I've been wanting my husband to help me straighten out the Laundry Room. He has a lot of things in there that either needed to be tossed or could go into our newly organized shed. He kept saying we'll get to it...blah, blah, blah. So I decided last Saturday that if he wasn't go...

Hi, Chatty Housewife, Thank you for responding to my blog. I understand what you're saying about it not looking very safe, but although it isn't perfect, it seems to be working so far. As for the knife block or trays, I do have a block on the counter with steak knives and a few other utility knives, but I don't want to add more clutter to the countertop. It looks like the one in the drawer is more for steak knives and mine are a lot larger than that. Thanks again for writing and keep an eye out for other blogs to come!!
Knives organized at last!!
I have been dealing with my knife drawer for a long time. I'm always afraid I'm going to cut myself trying to get a knife out of the drawer. A lot of them are over a foot long and regular cutlery or silverware trays are not long enough to hold them. Then I got the Rubbermaid No Slip Inter...
Hi Janet, thank you for commenting on my blog. That sounds very interesting. I'd like to learn more about it. Would you please send me the name of your website or do you have a link you could send me? I'd like to check it out.
Thanks,

Getting Out from Behind that Mountain of Paper
I have the bad habit of creating piles of paper, i.e., old paid bills, medical reimbursement claim forms, bank statements, etc. Mind you, I have a two-drawer filing cabinet in my bedroom. In the top drawer I have folders, filed alphabetically by name of bill, insurance company, mortgage, etc. ...
Hi Martha, thank you for commenting on my post. It is always a good thing to keep mom happy. I'm planning on having a yard sale in the spring, so I've been walking around the house and anything I want to sell, I box up and put in the attic. This way everything I want to sell is in one spot and the house is getting decluttered at the same time!

Hi Linda, thanks for your comment. There is a website that you can go to in order to stop getting all those catalogs. I had done that a few years ago, but unfortunately, I don't remember what it was. Maybe someone out there knows and can send it to us. I'll also try and see if I can find out what it is again and post it.

Thank you for your comment. If you're talking about schoolwork that you want to keep; here's what I did: At first I kept everything but, as you said, you'll drown. I went through the papers and only kept a few items from each grade. I packed these in a box and put it in my attic to one day share with my grandchildren.

Hi Phyllis..thanks for your comment. It is amazing how just getting rid of a pile of paper can make a difference. It's definitely gotten me motivated to keep decluttering!!

Thanks for your comment Joseph. I've been working on going green for a while. As Kermit would say 'It's not easy being green' but getting there!!

Hey Megan...I've been trying to figure out what to do with my necklaces for a long time. I have a jewelry box, with a little turnstile attached to the top of the inside which is too short and my necklaces get all tangled up. I was going to ask my husband for a new one for Xmas..but I like your idea instead!!
New Home for my Necklaces
Up until a short time ago, I kept all of my necklaces in my travel jewelry case. I didn't have a good place to keep them, and for the last five years I traveled enough where it made sense to just keep them in my travel case so I didn't have to unpack/repack them each weekend. A while ago I start...
