Since I was a child, I've loved the musical "The Unsinkable Molly Brown." I'm looking into producing it as a gift to myself for my 45 birthday. The role of Molly Brown is the one role I know of that I'd love to play that I haven't yet. Molly Brown was an actual person who lived an adventurous life, even surviving the sinking of the Titanic, and though I'm sure it wasn't always "easy" or "pleasant", she didn't give up on her dreams. I'm convinced more than ever that what seems hard will become easy if we commit ourselves to... Continue reading

This question is important because the biggest battle most of us face is with our own inner demons. Being in my 40's, I can really see how the mythic "hero's journey" we can each take, if we dare, is to march off into the unknown to battle with the destructive forces of self-doubt. Continue reading

If you have a dream, accept that it will take hard work and perseverance to bring it to the world, but don't lose sight of how much better life will be for you and others once you've made it real. Continue reading

Something I've become more conscious of recently is that "Intention" really gets you no where fast without "Action!" It doesn't matter how many fabulous ideas you have if you aren't willing or able to take steps to manifest them in the material world. When I spend time to bring my ideas to life they either happen or I find out that they're not very feasible, but either way I've had a useful experience. Right now I'm striving to focus my energies more so I can make faster progress on building my internet business. There's so much to learn and understand... Continue reading

Today from 7-11 pm in the Quantum Leap Program we did a personal process designed to help us combat the self-critical voices in our heads. What really "tripped me out" was that a number of "Professional" motivational speakers and motivational coaches revealed that they still had plenty of their own issues despite what they were selling and telling to other people. Wow! I felt like it really took the pressure off to realize that I don't have to be perfect before I can help other people. It seems that there is no ultimate healing for us humans except for the... I'm having so much fun at this Quantum Leap conference because people are attracted to the enthusiasm with which I speak about the Feldenkrais Method® and Improv. By sharing what I know, I am able to stimulate other people's thinking about ways they can improve their lives or else I validate ideas that are already important to them. Either way it's win-win for both of us because we have meaningful connections which serve both of us on our path towards our goals. Do not underestimate the simple business success strategy of talking to people about what you do or what... Continue reading

At 3:00 AM, I'll be on an airporter on my way to Philadelphia for my first Quantum Leap meeting. It is so exciting to be going to participate in a group where I know that highly qualified professional mentors are going to be helping me become the person I want to become and live the life I want to live. What price tag does one put on creating their dream life? Signing up for this program required me to overcome my fear of spending money, but in light of the question above, what am I actually afraid of?? I know... Continue reading

More words of wisdom from T. Harv Eker today. When you are imagining your business model,AND you want to have a BUSY business, be sure to have a front end product that is very low risk. This will enable you to connect with more people and build trust. But also have a plan in place. Once you have earned your clients or customers' trust, what else can you offer them that will help them meet their goals. Have a buffet ready of choices and options that cost more, but are worth more to the consumer. These are often referred to... Continue reading

Today, I was driving around town on my errands listening to some tapes by business guru T. Harv Eker. If you aren't familiar with his ideas, I really encourage you to find out more. He has a great book called Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. One of the points in his workshop that really struck me, was how ESSENTIAL it is to clearly and concisely state what you are offering and what your Unique Selling Point is. I heard a number of his participants give 30 second "core message" speeches. The ones that really didn't work were way too vague.... Continue reading

This is an image of a regal monarch. It is also an image of hundreds of aphids feasting on the leaves of the host plant. Where does your attention go? The beauty? The pests? The "suffering" of the plant? The potential banquet for a hungry ladybug? Success in business requires mastery of your own attention. It requires flexibility to meet each new challenge with whichever novel resources are needed. The more I study business and success, and pursue my own business adventure, the more obvious that becomes. If you focus on your fear, you get paralyzed. If you focus on... Continue reading

I'm so glad it's almost Thanksgiving! How wonderful to have a holiday devoted to Gratitude. It's such a timely reminder that our life gets better when we focus on what we do HAVE rather than on what we're still lacking. One of the best reminders I once got about gratitude was to express warmth and appreciation to all the humans you meet who make your life better through their service. This might be the grocery store clerk, the mailman, your child's teacher, or a crossing-guard, etc.. It takes the work of so many people to make our life flow. What... Continue reading

Do you know what this is?? If you've been in this building and seen this intriguing object, please post a comment at the end of this entry. Just for fun! DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE "IN THE KNOW"? There is SO MUCH to know about whatever areas of life interest us. I feel discouraged when I focus on how much I still don't know. On the other hand, when I focus on all that I have learned in my lifetime, I feel rich. How's that for proof that HOW YOU FOCUS YOUR MIND MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE! I have always... Continue reading

Recently I have had experiences in my own self and in my family of a roller coaster of emotions. One hour someone can be down, and the next they're up. Or vice versa. Last week, I tried to make peace in a situation that seemed impossible to resolve. Hurt feelings. Doors shut. I did as much consoling as I could and then started washing the dishes. By the time I was through, the rival factions had worked out their problems without me. Go figure. I find it helpful to remember that emotions are born of our experience in a given... Is this boy falling or flying? What do you expect when you try something for the first time? Do you feel afraid, or do you trust the process? You probably can't remember how many times you tried to walk before you "got it". What about putting your head under water? For most of us, that was really scary. Now it's effortless! Our EXPECTATIONS and our ATTITUDE about experimentation have EVERYTHING to do with our success. I'm LEAPING into the blogosphere. I love Stephen R. Covey's idea in The 8th Habit From Effectiveness to Greatness: expand your sphere of influence by... Continue reading

Wow! All of a sudden it seems like I've gotten way too busy. In expanding my reach for new knowledge and connecting to new people who can help me reach my goals, I have more possibilities popping up around me then I can respond to! I'm like a kid in a candy store, on a budget. Sometimes I feel very frustrated. And I start to worry about opportunities that are getting away from me. What I'm lacking is TIME! (I'm pretty sure you can relate. ) So...here's how I'm coping. #1 Prioritize my actions to make sure that I follow... Continue reading

I like those ideas about posture as well. I think theres a lot to be learned from contemplating the idea of posture and experimenting with it. A feeling that I have about my own posture after my experiences with The Feldenkrais Method® is that I am both supported by the earth and suspended from the Heavens. We dont actually use the word Heaven, but I experience a kind of lightness on my feet - perhaps like your description of Mass - and the Earth is there for me to bounce off of so that I have the capacity to change the trajectory of my movement. Sometimes I look at the way other people walk. It has such a heaviness to it. As if, its an effort to lift each foot and then it comes thunking down before they repeat the process on the other side. How difficult it must be to have an energized, expansive relationship with life when even walking wears you out. Ill do my next blog post about New York. Thanks for writing (and reading) !!

One of the things many people don't realize is just how unstable our personality is. By "unstable", I don't mean crazy, I mean our behavior, thoughts, and feelings change frequently, even within one day, depending upon many factors. This reminds me of the Feldenkrais® point that standing still is actually harder on our bodies than walking. Moshe Feldenkrais liked to refer to what we call "posture" as "acture" - being ready at a moment's notice to move in a desired direction. HOW OFTEN DO YOU CHOOSE "TO MOVE" YOUR PERSONALITY IN A DESIRED DIRECTION? If you were an actress, you... Continue reading

I'm back from the National Publicity Summit in New York. I have never felt stronger or more capable of turning my dreams into reality. There is so much TO LEARN form successful people and so much to be gained by cultivating THE RIGHT ATTITUDE inside yourself. By right attitude I mean a way of relating to the world based on the impulse to connect and contribute rather than withholding your gifts with the attitude of "I'm not good enough yet", "they don't really need me", or "I just don't belong". I've signed up for a Quantum Leap mentoring program because... Continue reading

Sylvia, I'm so glad you found my sharing helpful. Today I said another scary, but exhilarating "YES!!" to joining the mentoring/ coaching program offered by the organizers of this summit. These guys are not cheap but they give so much value, they are so at the head of their game, and they have such lovely souls that everyone here would love to work with them more. I can't wait to share some of the tips I've been learning! (Except that I'm to tired to write much now). The biggest, most obvious learning to me in this moment is if you want to be wildly successful, you have to COMMIT to THAT journey. If you do, you'll make different choices and have a different experience. We each need to be really clear about what we truly want. A secondary learning is that EACH TIME you say "Yes" to an experience that empowers you, it is THE KEY to opening the doorway to your next empowering experience. Lots of Love! I missed seeing you and the rest of The Abundance Group. I wondered what you were up to all the way from New York. On Oct 23, 2009, at 11:31 AM, typepad@sixapart.com wrote:

There are some kinds of things that you do that change you forever. Often these events have some extraordinary quality. They're often the kinds of things you don't LET yourself do every day - for one reason or another. I think that if you were saying "yes" to these ideas more often, your life would be moving much faster toward your goals. This process reminds me of turning life into a challenging game. You engage for the thrill of the process; you engage to win. Losing just isn't what it's about. What's the point? I said "yes" to my impulse... Continue reading

This is a photo of me in kindergarten, I think. I was all bright-eyed and bushy tailed back then - and I still pretty much am today! I think "Aim. Fire. Ready!" is probably one of the secrets to life! I wouldn't have accomplished half as many things if I had waited to start them until I felt ready. I wouldn't have gotten married. I wouldn't have become a mom. I wouldn't have launched into my career as a Feldenkrais Practitioner® or started an improv company. And now, I've aimed myself for this big shindig national publicity summit in New... Continue reading

I've been agonizing for weeks about whether to make a big investment to attend a national publicity seminar in New York where I can meet face to face with publishers and producers. I've been longing to go ever since I heard about the opportunity. I keep seeing & hearing "signs" which I interpret as messages saying, "Go, Bridget, Go!", and yet I've been too afraid to commit. I have a mission (self-imposed? God-given?) to bring national attention to THE FELDENKRAIS METHOD® because millions of people could benefit from it, if they could only get past the unusual name and experience... Continue reading
