Cancer Resources, thanks so much for the comment and visit. So thankful also for all of the work you do on behalf of breast cancer awareness.
Hello Portia and Corinne! Thanks so much. I miss you too. I will be around to your blogs soon!
What a great story! I'm currently in revision mode after meeting with an interested lit agent last year. Reading things like this keeps me inspired! Congrats!

I know I'm a few weeks late, but Happy 2013! It's been a few months since my last post and I must say it was so weird to not be blogging! I had a lot going on work-wise and in my personal life so I had to put it on pause for a while. I am still busy and working my way through some things, but the worst of the storm has passed and now I am clearing out from the wreckage and in rebuilding mode. I will share more later about this, but for now, let's focus on what's... Continue reading

Thanks Leah! Your publishing journey definitely inspires me to keep on pushing! I appreciate you! Hugs!

In my last post, Why Ride Roller Coasters When Writing Gives You The Same Thrills?, I talked about where I was in the publishing process with my novel Letters to Chyna. I was also days away from meeting with a literary agent. Well, on Tuesday we met and I thoroughly enjoyed my first sit down with someone who has the potential to help me get my book to market. It was very thrilling hearing a professional opinion about my work. I found myself wishing I had brought a micro-recorder so I could have captured her words of praise, but I... Continue reading

I am learning a lot on my literary journey and I anticipate great things! Best wishes to you as well on the publication of your baby. I speak positivity over it and you! Happy Sunday! :-)

Some people think writers are crazy. Well, some of us are. Honestly, to sit and stare at a computer screen or blank sheet of paper hoping for magic when most times all that drips from the pen is madness can make one just a wee bit unstable. Some of us walk around talking to ourselves and we blame it on our characters. "They are speaking to me," we say. Yeah, right. We're really asking ourselves out loud how in the world did we get ourselves into this? We remember the long nights at the dinner table with our parents when... Continue reading

Sweepy you are the best! Thanks so much. I see what you're doing with your book that you recently published and I'm very inspired. Keep up the good work as well!
Thanks so much Pamela! I'm going to keep on keeping on! :-)
Great post! I loved reading the different POV's from the other bloggers as well. Green is definitely the way to go and I will be voting my choice on Tues! Obama/Biden 2012-2016!
Sulekha and Dawn, your comments bring me to tears. I really appreciate your kind words. Not getting something you feel you're ready for can take a lot out of you, but I'm never giving up. Having friends like you make it easier to continue on. Thank you so much!

The life of a writer can seem so glamorous. We wake up at the crack of whenever, drink unlimited amounts of tea or coffee and sit in front of our computers in our silk pajamas pouring our emotions, fantasies and notions onto the page while others are slaving away at REAL jobs. But in reality, glamour can turn to gloom quick, fast and in a hurry when the writing projects we pitch are thrown back at us without a book deal attached. Let's back track. Earlier this year in March I decided to self-publish and I was super happy about... Continue reading

I am all about supporting other writers so participating in a blog tour seemed like fun! To that end, I am pleased to promote Rebecca Coleman and her new book Heaven Should Fall, a dark and compelling novel about a family irreparably damaged by a son’s debilitating PTSD after returning from war in Afghanistan. This heart-gripping tale also explores young love, new life and sacrifice and will keep you turning the pages well into the night. Below is an excerpt which should further pique your interest: Excerpt: The image was tacked to the corkboard above Cade’s bed in his dorm... Continue reading

Hey Lisa! Thanks so much! I found a great designer through one of my blog connections. I'm hoping to find out soon whether I will be self-publishing or being published traditionally. Stay tuned! :-)
LOL! Hey Sweepy! Lucky you! Actually hairy legs can be a symbol for unpierced ears, life before makeup, eyebrow arching and all of those things we graduate to doing to when we become women. Those things accentuate our beauty, but we were still beautiful without them and men remember us in our innocent stage quite fondly mostly. Thanks for stopping by! :-)
This is so true Dawn: " We tread a colorful path, each of us." Sometimes when we have advanced in life we forget about the goodness of our innocence, but it was then that we learned to dream. We should never forget the times before we arched our eyebrows or shaved our legs! :-)
