I really connected with your story. I'm not a single dad (anymore) but I do have a 10 year step-daughter who says all sorts of unintentionally hurtful things to me because: 1.) She's 10 and unaware of how her bluntness can sting 2.) I'm over-sensitive to things she says to me because I'm so paranoid that we're never going to "bond" even though it's already happened...it just isn't full of rainbows and unicorns. Don't be too hard on yourself. As kids get older, all parents periodically spew their own passive-aggressive insecurities at them. We're human too. I think the key is to not try and make them feel better but rather, acknowledge that I made the moment awkward and if she's willing, I'd like to move on.

these are actually freeze dried adults. Just open, add water and stir... Results: a pair of 30 year olds

I didn't stop laughing when I saw this (with my daughter...of course...) FRICK'N HILARIOUS! The girl and I proceeded to quote random parts of the movie for a week or two afterwards. Best parts? -ANYTHING Steve (the idiotic talking monkey) says. -The cop (played by Mr. T!) rants. -When "Baby Brett" finds his new calling...."Chicken Brett" (complete with Kungfu action!)
