norv turner and his geeks suck...LT is done and the jets are in da freakin championship game...sour grapes indeed!
was that not pass interference on the int? Come on man!
I think I use the draft status as a consolation at the end (once all seems lost)...but carlito...I was on the edge of my seat every week during the 1-15 season...even @ 1-14. I can't stand to lose...

i posted this on another blog, but thought I'd do it here as well: given that the chances for playoffs are slim, and even slimer in terms of advancing deep into the playoffs...at what point does a "true fan" start to be ok with (or even hope for) loses, so as to upgrade our draft status next year? Or do such thoughts disqualify you as a true fan? just wonderin'

@ NJ, yup...or we'll do the same with saftey or NT's. We need help there, though I'm real hopeful about clemons. @ mr help...explain..??

Can't argue with that NJ...in fact I think similarly. I've had high hopes for him for a long time...just has not become that dominant player. I think I can say (i'd have to fact check this) that he played much better when Zach was in Mia...which would lend support to your notion that he'd benefit from an upgrade next to him...but was that because of the 4-3 scheme...as opposed to the 3-4 we run now? or the attention zach demanded every play? or the tutoring/D-calls zach provided, etc.? Either way, I'm hoping we address this seriously next year (along with WR, TE, DT, and FS)....a good LB can make all the difference in the world to a struggling D. thanks for the feedback...

BTW: I agree that the LB corps would benefit from an upgrade with Crowder still in place...(i.e., replacing Ayodele). Torbor is a backup, but has made plays in there in substitution...ayodele suffers in coverage...horribly! (IMHO)

Crowder, to me, seems consistently out of place to make plays...of course he flashes occasionally and is adequate overall, but he's rarely in postion to make game changing plays (if ever). Question: wondering which it is: (a) does he lack the football IQ to read/diagnose plays in good time to get himself in position to make big plays, or (b)does he lack the physical ability to do the above (i.e., average speed/physicality = average play), or (c) some combination of the above? Sporana believes he has the potential to be a probowler someday...which suggests he has the ability, but just has not put it together consistently (which beggs the question...if he aint done it by now (especially shadowing ZT for a couple years)...will he ever? In the bills game, he was consistently out of position...and this is not the first time I've noticed this. He's either overly aggressive (and over runs the play), slow to the point of attack (and chasing from behind), or missing the tackle (failing to get the runner down). I'm not bashing...like I said, he makes his share of plays from an "average" standpoint...I mean..he was second leading tackler last year...but just sayin.. everyone agrees we need to upgrade, but what is it witih Crowder (what do we have...not have with him?) thoughts?

Couldn't agree more FinFan...not only were they NOT getting open consistently, but when they were open, they dropped the ball! I think both the jets and saints came out smoking the pass (especially over the middle) in the second halves of those games...that killed us...b'cause we are weak underneath (LB pass coverage responsibility) and over the middle (mid range-middle vs safeties). Simultaneously...they kept up with the run which really kept us off balance and on our heels.
