I think the coaches should be allowed to comment on the officiating. The calls speak for themselves, and these calls (and the no-calls) favor a specific team not only to the detriment of the other teams in the SEC who lost games because of the calls but also to the detriment of teams in other conferences who may be excluded from the national championship picture because of the calls. The league is hiding something to the extent that it does not address each specific call and no-call. A vague statement about missed calls barely addresses the issue. Has the league addressed Dan Mullen's latest issue (other than reprimanding him). The calls and no-calls in the Florida/Arkansas and Florida/Mississippi State games (and perhaps the Florida/LSU game too) were so absurdly blatantly bad, that I also applaud the coaches for speaking up. I'm not saying there's a conspiracy; it could just be gross incompetence. However, every week, a certain team and certain players are getting favorable treatment, and someone needs to speak out. I don't see the need for the SEC as an organization to be unified with the coaches. if the SEC needs to protect the conference's integrity, so be it, but I don't think that's the coaches responsibility except with respect to how each coach manages his respective program.
