My favourite episode so far - partly because TTR is one of my favourite board games, and the only one so far I was familiar with, so I could enjoy the play as it went, instead of having half an eye on how the mechanics worked. And partly because it was hilarious! Colin is a hoot! I was prepared to lavish praise on this one before I was halfway through - and then Anne laid the smackdown on the table, and I had to pause in order to stop laughing!
Looking forward to Munchkin with Felicia next week - I can imagine she would get quite competitive...
Well done to all at G+S for this brilliant series (although I'm still trying to find somewhere in this country that sells Tsuro...)
New Tabletop! Ticket to Ride with Colin Ferguson, my wife Anne, and our friend Amy!
I am especially geeked out in this episode. I mean, switch to decaf, Wheaton. As always, you can watch this is glorious HIGH DEFINITION at YouTube. Please subscribe, like, and tell your friends to do the same... we'd really like to get a second season.
It's funny - I can hear Frakes' voice saying that! And I have the TOS comm chirp as my text alert signal on my Nokia - in fact, I decided "hey, that's a cool idea for my text alert" after hearing it go off on your phone during one of the Futurecasts... :D
in which a text is received and a phone call is made
I'm up to my neck in Memories of the Future Volume 2 work, but I wanted to take a minute to share something cool that happened yesterday... The familiar chirp of an Original Series communicator came out of my Blackberry, announcing the arrival of a text message. I thumbed it a couple times and r...
I shall be purchasing one when I get paid this month. And then drinking my regular early morning Earl Grey from it.
Hey look! It's the Memories of the Futuremug!
It turns out that all this talk about getting excited and making things, uh, got me excited to make something. I don't remember the precise moment this hit me, but I'm pretty sure it happened during one of those times I felt stuck on a story or something, and decided to get out of my office and ...
Munchkin is most excellent. I was introduced to it by a bunch of gaming friends, and found it utterly hilarious; I was glad to find more people where I work now who know and play it. You have to be playing with the right group of people, though, as sometimes someone gets a bit too argumentative, and the atmosphere suffers as a result - it's all, in the end, a bit of fun.
a spiffy rules variant for munchkin
I'm making myself a little crazy trying to write a column about gaming, gamers, gaming conventions, and why they all add up to mean so much to me. It's not that I can't find the words but – well, maybe it is that I can't find the words. Or, more accurately, I can't find enough words, because I c...
Ordered! Looking forward to its arrival - assuming it gets sent out before the forthcoming postal strike, anyway... *crosses fingers*
Memories of the Futurecast: Episode Six
Holy crap! It's time for Memories of the Futurecast. Memories of the Future, Volume One, covers the first 13 episodes of TNG, so each week, I'm choosing something from one episode, and performing an excerpt for you. It will mostly be from the synopses, which is where I think the real humor of...
