Regardless of whether Rush ever actually made the comment about slavery (and I can find no independent confirmation that he did say it), Rush has said plenty of other profoundly racist comments over the years. Or if you don't believe that, just ask any random black person what they think of Rush Limbaugh.

Have you ever listened to his show? It sure doesn't sound like it. He has made a career of throwing red meat to people who resent minorities and have serious problems with misogyny. "Wouldn't the Democratic party have made an issue of the quote during the presidential election?" I seem to recall that John McCain was the GOP nominee, not Rush Limbaugh. COMMENTARY FAIL
