Hi everyone! I am excited! My new book entitled SUCCESS ON YOUR TERMS: How To Defy The Odds and Live Your Best Life has been published and is available for your reading pleasure. What can I say? There is so much I could say about this book. However, it's all been said in the book...and now you can grab a copy, read it and let's have a discussion about the topics discussed. The show of support has been amazing... and I am very thankful for that. If you haven't purchased your copy yet, go ahead and get yours now. I... Continue reading

Hi friend. It's Friday already! How did your week ago? Excellent I hope; I also hope that you are looking forward to a calm, relaxing weekend. Our last blog post on seasons of change did very well; thank you for reading. Today, I thought of posting something light - quotations about mistakes - to serve as gentle reminders that we do not have to be held back by mistakes (or the fear of making them) during our success journey. Great leaders push through and keep moving forward. Here are 14 Quotes about Mistakes - do not be afraid to make... Continue reading

Life is constantly changing and shifting, and everyday we are called upon to make decisions that lead to various actions. In other words, if you are breathing and living, you will find yourself having to make new decisions and take certain actions. This could be as simple as "what am I having for breakfast today?"... you make a choice and take action toward that choice. In fact, not-making a choice and thus having no breakfast is also in itself a decision. "In order to carry a positive action we must develop here a positive vision." - Dalai Lama The above... Do you feel uncomfortable with taking the easy way? Yes, the easy way. What is the easy way? Are you that leader that is constantly on the go? Whose to-do-list is filled and overflowing with work and various responsibilities? You love what you do, right? You feel blessed to be living in purpose, right? So why do you find yourself working hard and having success, but unable to feel settled enough to simply enjoy? There was a time when all I did was chase 'success', I mastered success formula after success formula, met goals, experienced business growth and all that... Continue reading

"The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem." - Theodore Rubin The obstacles you face today are stepping stones to your greatness. Obstacles help us find our better selves, simply because in overcoming them, we are forced to grow, to stretch, to face our fears and to reinvent ourselves. Granted, as human beings we prefer to operate within familiar parameters, however, obstacles force us out of our comfort zones and challenge us to trouble-shoot, to learn, grow and develop a new way of thinking. This opens up... Continue reading

A great leader brings out the best in others. However, in order to bring out the best in others, the leader has to first recognize and develop the best in themselves. This is possible when we have the discipline to work on (and "fix") ourselves. Part of this work will involve helping ourselves move pass personal insecurities blinding us to the good in and needs of others. In working on ourselves, common fears such as 'the fear of putting others first' begin to disappear because we are increasing in self-esteem and confidence, and the world no longer revolves around us... Dear Blog family, HAPPY NEW YEAR! How have you and yours been doing? I hope 2017 is off to a great start. It's almost the end of January and I am only now composing my first post of the year (*sad face!*). For those who missed me, I am so sorry for the lapse and I missed you too (*smiles*). Life changes, we change and sometimes patterns change also. This is probably the first year since I started blogging in 2009 that I did not put up a New Year's Day message here on the blog. However, I did share... Continue reading

Good morning! December is here! Wow ... in four weeks we will be in a new year. Before we even look that far, why don't we just pause and appreciate the fact that we have made it this far... through the first 11 months of the year. During which we have triumphed and overcome adversities, fallen, stumbled and risen, succeeded and failed sometimes, we have conquered and lost some, we have dreamed big, had doubts and grown in the process. All in all, we have progressed and will continue to move toward the rainbow. For most in my circle and... Continue reading

"You've got to WANT it, to WIN it, and we want it MORE!!!" ...is son's baseball team chant. Over the past several months, we have watched my son's Gamers 11U baseball team compete wholeheartedly and win games. It's been inspiring to watch them practice, gel, grow and become champions. There have been many success lessons to learn from the boys and it's a pleasure to share a few with you today. I did not grow up watching baseball. Growing up in Cameroon, baseball was not a sport we knew anything about. But as the saying goes, when you have children,... Continue reading

Second guessing ourselves too much often leads to lower self-confidence. Why? Because failing to follow our instincts time and again, injects doubt into our minds, subsequently leading to a subtle lack of belief in self. In today's Thoughts On Success, I'll like to encourage you to follow your heart. If you feel like writing something, write it; like speaking up, speak up; if you want to dress a certain way, do so; if you feel like staying, stay; like going, go ... and if you're not sure what to do, take time to listen to your spirit. It was Dr.... Continue reading

"Goals - including happiness goals - do not materialize by themselves. It takes work and effort to accomplish our goals daily." Success and happiness do not just happen, neither do they fall into our laps most of the time. I'll like us to discuss a different kind of success today; one that does not involve material things, but rather how we feel - our happiness! Just as we have been taught to strive for professional excellence, it is also important to pay attention to our general well-being - are you feeling satisfied, are you at peace with yourself (regardless of... Who are some of the people who have inspired you in life and why? How have they been able to do so - is it by words, actions or very simply by being themselves? Well today, I am inspired to introduce you to someone very special who has had a strong influence on my life just by being who she is - my mom. Mama dearest. Before we go any further, please permit me to put it out there that mom has raised 7 children (7 born from her womb and many others whom she's a mother to). Yes 7!... Continue reading

Hi it's Wednesday and the Fall atmosphere is so nice and cool in Atlanta. I am excited because I received the edited manuscript of my new book and the accompany note from the editor was particularly thrilling: As you can see, the book title in the note has been blacked out. This is because I'll like it to be a pleasant surprise to you upon publication. The book is currently in production and should be available in 3 to 4 months! As you may have noticed, I haven't been blogging lately (sincere apologies)... but please be sure to follow my... Continue reading

Confession, I have been feeling a bit unaligned recently, like yeah... business is growing, but hmmm, there could be more, I could be doing more, achieving more; or I've got so much to do and not enough time, my to-do-list is endless, what's going to take priority over the other on this plate so full? - calls to return, interviews to prepare, events to plan, kids to tend to, books to complete writing, etc...all these 'important' things that need one's attention. I'm sure you can relate. Life and "busy people" issues, right? *Smiles* The past few weeks or so have... Continue reading

"Be enthusiastic as a leader. You can't light a fire with a wet match!" - Anonymous My niece loves gymnastics. Although I've always had a ton of admiration for gymnasts, I didn't know much about the sport. However, since spending time with her this past week during my stay in Helsinki, my niece's passion for the sport has been glaringly obvious and has me paying closer attention. She's constantly doing cartwheels, somersaults, handstands, swinging from bars, etc. She is extremely flexible and obviously has strong arms. One can tell that she loves the sport. This morning, we attended a program... Continue reading

“Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.” – Bill Gates A few years ago (some 7, 8 years back), I expected smooth experiences and positive results in all business undertakings. The reason being that at the time, I was a top-producing Senior Vice President for an mlm company and what effort we put into building the plan, 8 out of 10 times would yield positive results as the home-based business grew leaps and bounds. Then in 2010, I decided to take a leap into being 100% CEO of my company. DUNIA Magazine was... Continue reading
