Confession, I have been feeling a bit unaligned recently, like yeah... business is growing, but hmmm, there could be more, I could be doing more, achieving more; or I've got so much to do and not enough time, my to-do-list is endless, what's going to take priority over the other on this plate so full? - calls to return, interviews to prepare, events to plan, kids to tend to, books to complete writing, etc...all these 'important' things that need one's attention. I'm sure you can relate. Life and "busy people" issues, right? *Smiles* The past few weeks or so have... Continue reading

"Be enthusiastic as a leader. You can't light a fire with a wet match!" - Anonymous My niece loves gymnastics. Although I've always had a ton of admiration for gymnasts, I didn't know much about the sport. However, since spending time with her this past week during my stay in Helsinki, my niece's passion for the sport has been glaringly obvious and has me paying closer attention. She's constantly doing cartwheels, somersaults, handstands, swinging from bars, etc. She is extremely flexible and obviously has strong arms. One can tell that she loves the sport. This morning, we attended a program... Continue reading

“Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose.” – Bill Gates A few years ago (some 7, 8 years back), I expected smooth experiences and positive results in all business undertakings. The reason being that at the time, I was a top-producing Senior Vice President for an mlm company and what effort we put into building the plan, 8 out of 10 times would yield positive results as the home-based business grew leaps and bounds. Then in 2010, I decided to take a leap into being 100% CEO of my company. DUNIA Magazine was... Continue reading

"I stopped and smelled the roses, and suddenly, the day seemed so much brighter." ~ Lema ~ Hello family and welcome to the blog. I was out running errands today and on my way out of the bank, I just had to stop and take these photos. Standing there admiring the roses and taking in their fragrance as cars buzzed by reminded me that we can find happiness in the smallest things. Often in life, we do not even have to seek out the things that take our breathes away, they find us! We just have to be intentional in... Continue reading

"The light is what guides you home, the warmth is what keeps you there." - Ellie Rodriguez It's Spring! That time of year to brighten up and bring some color into our living spaces. This year when we decided to spruce up the house and do some painting, the first thing I did was to call in some professionals. We found the best in Oseas Painting, very masterful, affordable, easy to work with, fast and efficient. "Be grateful for the home you have, knowing that at this moment, all you have is all you need." - Sarah Ban Breathnach "He... Continue reading

"Now there are five matters to which a general must pay strict heed. The first of these is administration; the second, preparedness; the third, determination; the fourth, prudence; and the fifth, economy." — Wu Ch'i (430-381 BC) We can learn a lot from leaders in different fields of work. Upon reading the above quote, it was interesting to note that 'economy' came 5th and last on the list. As a leader one realizes that economics (while it has a role to play) is not often the most important factor in the leadership equation. What comes first is building, making a... Continue reading

Hello friend, how is your day going? It's another beautiful and lovely Tuesday here; cold for a springtime morning in Atlanta, but the forecast is for a warm rest of the day, so I'm excited. You know as leaders we are constantly on the move - working, making decisions, planning, supporting, giving ... and working again. It can be an unending grind. A leader does not live in a cocoon, he/she is constantly putting out life energy - physically and mentally. It is hence important to find ways to maintain motivation and keep a clear mind. This is necessary if... Continue reading

One thing that I have realized clearly after all these years of being self-employed is that success grows from what we are able to do for others. Yes ... ponder on this a bit more and you'll realize how much sense it actually makes: success grows from what we are able to do for others. Most often we make the mistake of thinking that a good idea, or great service is enough to get clients/customers rushing through our doors to buy. Hundreds of people, everyday, come up with brilliant ideas and roll out top-class products and services that somehow fail... Continue reading

I turned off the TV, Put away the laptop, And picked up some books#currentstate #Atlanta — Lema Abeng-Nsah (@LemaNsah) March 13, 2016 Every once in a while, you read a book that moves you and helps put life into perspective. Such was the case when I read THE LAST DAYS OF PTOLEMY GREY by Walter Mosley. I must say the author's writing ability, story flow and life lessons entrenched in the novel added up for a very impressive read. For me personally, it provided an insight into what a person suffering from dementia may be experiencing, and at the same... Continue reading

Hello Face2Face with Success family. Happy New Year. It's been so long; I must begin with a sincere heartfelt apology for the long lapse in posting. I hope and pray you and your family and friends have been doing well and that the new year is going well. Although I haven't written on the blog lately, I hope that you have been following more regular updates on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and of course Twitter. Truth be told, I have missed writing and each time I came across great information, I always thought about sharing it with you. I would like... Continue reading

He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he. - Proverbs 16:20 (KJV) December is here. 2016 is almost upon us. Are you excited? Has 2015 been good to you so far? I pray so. Today's blog post is a brief reminder about the importance of setting our minds up for success by finding every reason to be happy and making every excuse to be successful. Reason to be happy. Every day we convince ourselves to do stuff, such as waking up to the alarm clock when you'd rather stay in... Continue reading

"Creativity has always depended on openness and flexibility, so let us hope for more of both in the future." - Siri Hustvedt Dear reader. I hope you are having a fantastic beginning of the week. Just thought to drop a few words about flexibility and how to make it work for you exercise-wise. For those who are self employed or work from home, flexibility of schedule is often a highly treasured bonus. You are the boss and you make the rules, especially if you own your business. That being said, entrepreneurs also tend to be under pressure to create results... Continue reading

Unleashing a wave of compassion into the community was the goal of this year's Ministry Tsunami at Eagles Landing First Baptist Church in Atlanta. 2,500 people (church members and friends) were today mobilized to serve the community in some form... feeding the homeless; visiting nursing homes, disabled veterans and their families; cleaning parks, schools and cemeteries; fellowship-ing at police precincts; and more (adding up to about 300 projects to my understanding). The goal: putting love in action and extending the love of Christ into the community. It was exciting to commit and work with other members of our church family... Continue reading

"One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn't do." - Henry Ford Success is all about problem solving. What great champions do is make a way where there seems to be no way. This happens through problem solving. Moving from point A to point B no matter what. What constitutes progress may be different for everyone, based on lifestyle and goals set. However, the commonality is, progress involves advancement, some movement of sorts, a necessary forward-moving process that is seldom smooth. So how... Continue reading

Today I spent one of those lazy evenings on the couch ... which I must admit, I haven't had in a while. Literally no work, no thinking, no brainstorming, no phone calls ... just being in the moment, flipping channels ... and not feeling guilty about it. It was relaxing and has me feeling like time in-front of the tube isn't such a bad idea ... well in moderation, I guess. Just you, yourself and some great TV. Then I thought, before retiring for the night, why not drop a few words on the blog. I hope the following quotes... Continue reading

“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind." - Isaiah 65:17 I have seen the powerful fall, the mighty doubt, and witnessed leaders weep. As human beings, none of us is so strong as to be immune to self-questioning, doubts, fears. Room for growth. We are all born with self-preservationist instincts. One of the ways we protect ourselves is by projecting an "I've got it all together" image even when we're hurting on the inside. Although this requires less of us character-wise, it makes us feel... “Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family.” - Kofi Annan Last week, we invited friends/connections to a Twitter chat via hashtag #TodayILearned. The aim: to share information, daily life reminders, tips, and suggestions on the social media network. The flow of information seems much more interesting when it's two-way and interactive. Such chats as #TodayILearned provide an opportunity to share with a group, while also allowing us to bounce information off each other when we respond by contributing our perspective on a post. These days, it is not unusual... Continue reading
