I've given up even trying to understand his tweets. They are always lovely and entertaining, but clear, they usually are not. And I can't even blame the language barrier...

You didn't hear it from me, mom's the word and all that, but yeah...
Nothing to do with the eruption going on in Eyjafjallajökull, here in Iceland right now, of course ;)

It's been awhile since I last posted here, I've just been quietly lurking here once in awhile. Finals are killing me, plus I have to write a lengthy report on my research project so I can actually graduate in June so RL has been rather hectic lately. But on a brighter note; I just found out that I received a grant to conduct cancer research this summer, finally a summer job in my field of study! :)

English is actually pretty easy to learn, it doesn't really have a lot of grammar (compared to German and Icelandic for example), it is all around so you are exposed to it from very early age, but the spelling is a bit difficult.
First time I've been here for a couple of days and among the first things I see is a Icelandic band :) Sigur Rós and Björk make it seem like all Icelandic music is dreamy and bizarre. Admitedly the percentage is probably a bit bigger here, probably because the market is so small that it doesn't really matter money wise whether the bands are making main stream music or something completely different.

I'm such a geek that RPGs are one of my top hobbies. So is music, especially singing. I used to study classical singing (I was actually up to a undergrad level) but now I just sing in a choir. Molcular biology is also an interest of mine (fortunate seeing I'm studying it).

@Sunfell Yes I know but it is still Zach, just different applications of his voice. There is a common line there. I can't imagine not knowing the voice of my favourite actor (though that is unlikely in this age of internet and multi-audiotrack DVDs). My sister dated a Austrian Chef quite a few years back (1997ish). They were both working at the same hotel in Norway and there it was the first time he heard the voice of his favourite actor...he was from some remote small town in the Alps but still...;)

Did also do Spock or was that someone else? (If it was, isn't it weird to see the same faces but hear different voices all the time? I'm so glad only movies for children are dubbed here...:)

Silent Night sung by my choir, Mótettukór Hallgrímskirkju, and tenor Kristján Jóhannsson (well this recording was made before I joined the choir but still I feel like I own a bit of this recording)

I love the Christmas carol Silent Night. According to Wikipedia the carol has been translated into over 44 languages. Lets all fly the flag for our country and post the lyrics in our native language. To start this off I'll... Continue reading
