Hello and happy weekend! The weekend definitely means there are GOOD THINGS AHEAD, right? A chance to spend time with my family is always good. Emily Pitts here today with a fun card I made with a few different Simple Stories lines. I love how they work together so seemlessly. My card started with this great Viewfinder cut file for the Silhouette (or other computer based die cut machine) that you can download for free from Cocoa Daisy. I sized it to be about 5 inches and cut it from the Orange Strip/Map (#2921) from the Urban Traveler line, then... Continue reading

Hello! It's almost the weekend! I have a layout to share with you today using the new Vintage Bliss line. When I created this, I didn't have access to all the new embellishments that were just released this Winter CHA, but I did have my trusty little scissors, so I did a lot of hand cutting to make this layout dimensional. I like dimension. So I took the lovely floral paper Smile Big and started cutting it up into small bit of flowers and leaves. I arranged them until they felt right and then added some dimensional adhesive behind a... Continue reading

Hello! Emily Pitts here today, continuing with the Simple Stories/Scor-Pal swap. I have owned a Scor-Pal for many years. Mine has glue and glitter stuck to it, mist and stamping ink decorate the edges. It's a well loved tool. I resisted getting one because I wasn't a card maker, but after a demo at CHA, I caved and got my own. And like I said, I've used it a lot. So if you're not a card, envelope, or box maker (and there are so many cute things you can make with the Scor-Pal's help), you might be wondering if you... Continue reading

Hello! It's Emily Pitts on board today with some 24/7 goodness for you. I thoroughly enjoyed playing with this line, it's SO usable, and SO perfect for almost any kind of project. I made a page attemping to tell my husband how much I love him. We've been married for 20 years and although I do tell him all the time, recently I've been aware that he really will never know the extent of my adoration for him. He's my perfect match in every way and I'm so grateful for him. I love using the Bingo cards, the titles of... Continue reading

Hello Simple Stories friends, Emily Pitts here today. Are you recovered from the holiday bustle? I know I'm enjoying the time with my family immensely! We have a wedding reception this weekend, so I pulled out my favorite Simple Stories line, the SN@P! collection and whipped up this Love card in no time flat. I used to buy my cards, but have sinced turned into a card maker. It's so nice to get a lovely handmade card, don't you think? You could use the same design and easily change the sentiment to fit your needs. I cut a 1/2 inch... Continue reading

Hello! Emily Pitts here today. My sister got married in August. It was a very happy day and I got to take a lot of pictures. I decided to put together an album for her and her new family, combining the happy colors of the Sn@p! collection with the lovely subdued Documented line. I thought the two would blend together nicely. I was right! I most often create 12x12 layouts, but since Simple Stories features so many products for the divided photo sleeve, I went with the hybrid scrapbooking approach. I've got a few 12x12s planned and then the rest... Continue reading

Hello, it's Emily Pitts on board today and I've got a layout for you that I made in less than an hour. How did I do that you may ask? Well, it's all thanks to Simple Stories' newest venture: SN@P! The perfect assortment of embellishments makes me a happy girl, and with all the stickers, flashcards, transparencies, and papers, well SN@P! has exactly what I need! Add bright happy colors and I'm giddy. The Design Team has been oohing and aahing over the boxes that have been arriving at our door steps, it's really as fun as it looks! And... Continue reading

Happy Friday everyone! Emily Pitts with you today, sharing a tutorial on how to make the sunbursts that have been so popular in scrapbookingland lately. I've tried this before with varying levels of success, but I found a way that works for me, so I thought I'd share it with you in card version. Bonus? You get three cards with this technique! I'm set! I used the gorgeous new Harvest Lane line, the colors are so rich and happy, the papers are perfect scale for cards. It was easy to come up with a color combination I liked! 1. Measure... Good morning, Emily Pitts on deck today. I know Kim showed you a few scenes from the booth here at CHA, but I want to show you a few more. Really, who can get enough pictures of Simple Stories?!?!! I had the pleasure of working a booth over from Simple Stories and was able to rub shoulders with Kevin, Amber, Jodi, Sue, and Bethany all week. They are as awesome as the paper they bring us, to be honest, probably just a little more. They are kind and fun to be around, really good and genuine people. I am proud... Continue reading

Hello, Emily on deck today with a quick sketch and a card to help you simplify your summer. It's been a busy one for me so far, a week with my parents while my kids were at a youth conference in Utah, then a week home, and as you are reading this, I'm either preparing to or flying home from a 13 day vacation in Wales with my family and parents. Wales is where my mom's heritage originates and we decided it was time to get her over there to see all the places she's been researching as she does... Continue reading

Hello Simple Stories friends! Emily Pitts here today with a layout I made about my daughter. You might think, a layout about a girl, oh I'll pull out my Fabulous collection from Simple Stories! While I do pull that collection out a lot, I knew it wouldn't work for the topic of my layout. But Awesome, with its guitars, car tracks, and wings, well that was what I was looking for! See, I'd had this conversation with my 17 year old daughter, all stemming for a typical thing teenage girls do in the car, sing along to the lyrics. Especially... Continue reading

Hello Simple Stories friends! Welcome to my home. Every spring our family gets to take part in a little miracle. I have a flower bucket that I've been hanging on our front door for the last 6 years that we've lived here in Colorado. A little bird decided that bucket would make a great home for her nest of eggs. She happily builds the nest, lays her eggs, waits for them to hatch, feeds the babies, then watches them leave, all from her perch on our door. And since the peep hole in our door happens to be exactly at... Continue reading
