This is just my little place on the planet to share what I love.
Interests: I like anything crafty. But my first love is stamping and papercrafting. I enjoy every moment with my family and take joy in life's simple celebrations (I especially love crafting for them). When I am not crafting you can find me reading a good book, playing with my 4 children, or curling up with my husband for a good movie.

Our Christmas tree is full of ornaments that have been created by either my mother, me or the children. Every time we place an ornament on the tree we reflect on when it was made and where we were in our lives. Our tree is not only a *Christmas Tree* but a tree of memories. And each year we try to add to it by creating more ornaments...and memories. I would like to feature just a few of the ornaments that dazzle our tree each year. The ornaments I chose here are ones that are really easy to create. And... Continue reading

I was just goofing off and surfing the blogosphere yesterday when I came across this super cute idea... I thought these little "Blessing Mix" cards, and the mix, would go so well with the pumpkin treat boxes I was making for our Thanksgiving dinner table. Just download the poem, print it out, and mix up some Bugles snacks, pretzels, candy corn, dried fruits and peanuts. Fill up some little bags with the mix and attach the poem. Here is a close up of the poem... The idea came from a blog called Chicnscratch (cute name, huh?). She has made a... Continue reading

Hello! I haven't featured a tutorial lately so I thought it was about time I should. The weather is beginning to look snowy so I figured today was the perfect day to hang out indoors crafting. I created a pumpkin treat box to set at place-settings for Thanksgiving dinner. I plan on filling them with nuts and candy corn. The tradition started with my DH's mother. This Thanksgiving these little treat boxes will adorn our table. But you can make these and use them as little gifts to tell a certain someone how much you appreciate them. This is how... Today I decided to try the newest challenge from Embellish Magazine. The challenge was to use the colors pink, red, yellow, and brown as well as use felt somewhere. I love felt! I'm learning many ways to use it. In my card I stamped on it. I used StazOn ink to stamp the butterfly image on the butterfly die cut. I really like the look of it. For this card I chose to take the colors for the challenge and gradiate them from red on the bottom to pink to yellow using pastels. Then I stamped the words with chocolate... Continue reading

Ok so these are the treats we put in our boo bags... These are homemade Oreo cookies. Oh! They are so sinfully delicious! You have GOT to try these (if you haven't already...and if you have tried them GO MAKE SOME!). Here is the recipe: 2 boxes of Devil's Food cake mix 4 eggs 3/4 cup of vegetable or canola oil Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix the above ingredients together in a large bowl. Then form dough into balls. Place onto cookie sheet and bake for 7 to 9 minutes or when the tops begin to crack. Flatten cookies... Continue reading

Last week I featured the purple boo bag because that was the only one I had finished. But now I have all of them done, yay!!! These bags are inspired a post I saw at Eighteen25 and the adorable bags at The Pottery Barn Kids. The bags measure 7 x 9 x 4 inches. I made my own template. Including a little template for the handle. I used cookie cutters to create the pumpkin and ghost. I used a template from an old cookbook for the moon and cat. Then I used a simple stitch to attach it. I used... Continue reading

The idea for this card just popped into my head yesterday. I just had to try it:) I created the background for the card by embossing dots with my die machine and embossing folder. Then I rubbed the black ink pad over the raised areas lightly. The effect is a distressed look. The hats and the little bag of goodies make a really fun image. I smiled as I made it. Thanks for stopping by! The details: Paper: Lavendar Lace, Certainly Celery (Stampin' Up!); White cardstock (Papertrey Ink) Stamps: Been Boo'd,Tiny Treats: Halloween (Papertrey Ink) Ink: StazOn black Accessories: Certainly... Inspired by the boo bags I spotted on Eighteen25 and Pottery Barn Kids I came up with this cute boo bag... This is the first one out of three. I just haven't finished the other two yet. This bag measure 9 x 7. I created my own template for the bag and the little handle. The pumpkin is actually a cookie cutter that I traced onto the orange felt. I just used a slip stitch around the pumpkin and features to attach it to the felt bag. Then I used embroidery thread to do a blanket stitch around the entire... Continue reading

I created this card using the color pallet for Embellish Magazine's color challenge. The colors were yellow (So Saffron), Grey, black and white. The second part of the challenge was to make your own designer paper using stamps. I used a simple straight stamp that was part of the Been Boo'd stamp set (from Papertrey Ink) to create lined paper below the ribbon. Then I used a die-cut to create the grey background. I bordered the card by taking a stylist and ruler to create embossed edges. I really like this color combo. I am in a Halloween mood because... Continue reading

Today's Show~n~tell is brought to you by my children... We had a type of lazy weekend, but we were also feeling quite creative and ready for Halloween. So the children got together and created this banner... I cut the orange, green, purple, and black cardstock into 3 inch triangles. They each decorated them. Then we just punched holes in the top corners and attached the triangles to black and white gingham ribbon. This is a close up view of their artwork... Then my 9 year old made the spiders from black yarn and black pipe cleaners. We found a tutorial... Continue reading

My little ones love pirates. So when I saw these adorable little pirate sails at Cottage-Industrialist.com I just had to print them out. These little sails are originally intended for cupcakes (they coordinate with cute little cupcake wrappers), but I wanted to use them with deviled eggs. My kids call deviled eggs *egg boats*...soooooo this was perfect!! I even had to create a little ocean scene for the photo (tee-hee). You can even get a whole line of pirate themed party decorations at Cottage-Industrialist. Sooo cute!! BTW... This will be the last week I do the DOWNLOAD OF THE WEEK.... Continue reading

Today I wanted to share a simple pinwheel card. I was inspired by an invitation that was given to me a while back. On the invitation there was a little, digital pinwheel. It looked like it was made from piecing little triangles into a shape of a flower. I thought this was perfect for little scraps. To make the pinwheel: Cut paper into squares (you can choose how big or small you want the pinwheel...the bigger the squares the bigger the pinwheel). Then cut the squares diagonally to create triangles. I chose to use two coordinating papers. I used one... Continue reading

I decided to get out my Bundle of Joy stamp set (from Stamin' up!) for this week's Flashback Friday. I orginally bought this stamp set two years ago to use for my daughter's baby announcements. I have used it from time to time, but this particular image has only seen ink once! I felt it was time to use it again. I went on a little search looking for a new challenge to try. I found one at Embellish Magazine's challenge blog. I thought the colors were perfect for the stamp...very soft. The challenge was to use dark green, light... Continue reading

Today you can find me in the kitchen canning. It is peach season and I am busy canning a HUGE box of peaches for winter. My whole family loves canned peaches. Especially the ones we have canned ourselves. So today's download was going to be labels for my bottles. Unfortunately my printer is having issues (it's just being naughty!!). So I can not print out anything...at...all! I am soooo bumbed. However, I will give you the link to the website I found that has the best selection of canning labels I have found so far. It is called Sweet Preservation.... Continue reading

A few years back I attended my first Stampin' Up stamp club. A friend of mine, Jessica, was hosting it. I had a huge blast and shortly after I became a demonstrator. I am not a demonstrator anymore and I have since moved so I cannot attend my friends stamp clubs anymore. I am simply too far away...I really miss them. So today I was searching for something old to share. I looked through my stamps, paper, accessories...nothing was moving my mojo. So I started looking through past cards I have made. Bingo!! I found this one... This was one... Continue reading
