What is it all about? This is a project that Matchmedia has been working on for some time. However the ‘light bulb’ moment came last week when I showed our work to a potential user for the first time. His eyes lit up -like a child’s eyes would. You see he thought the brand ‘Froggi Feet’ was brilliant! And immediately wanted to know how he could get involved? Froggi Feet is an open source brand. The use of this brand is open to all. Anybody can get involved and indeed contribute. The Froggi Feet brand is a brand created to... Continue reading

I have phoned talktalk customer service tonight at 7pm. I was on the phone for 25+ mins. I asked quite clearly to have both my £25 monthly bill credited and also asked that they credit an additional £25 -a total of £50 this is because they are total and utter... Continue reading

A blog post written by Stephen from SC1 Sports Blog. Uruguay have just won the 2011 Copa America, beating Paraguay in the final 3-0. I was so impressed with their work rate on and off the ball, to levels that have made people drool over Barcelona. A real team, they play together, and have such an understanding of each other. Diego Lugano and Sebastian Coates (named Young Player of the Tournament) at the back are so dominant in the air, strong in the tackle. Arevalo Rios reminded me of Javier Mascherano, harassing the opponent in midfield and not giving them... Continue reading

A blog post written by Conán from SC1 Sports Blog. I remember leaving the Creighton Hotel bar, in Clones, during extra-time of Ireland’s World Cup Second Round encounter against Spain back in 2002. Robbie Keane had done it again: a 90th minute equaliser put another 30 minutes on the clock at a stage in which the Republic were beginning to dominate against the 10 man Spaniards. We, as a country, were headed towards one of the most exciting, nerve-racking moments in our sporting history. I, as an individual, was headed towards St. Tiernach’s Park on the unforgiving incline of Church... Continue reading

A blog post written by Conán from SC1 Sports Blog. It has been well documented that the ingestion of “sports drinks” has a positive impact on exercise performance. Global products such as Powerade and Lucozade have dominated sporting preparation this century, with similar drinks such as Gatorade having been introduced as early as 46 years ago. But to what extent do these isotonic fluids benefit an athlete? And can drinking a bottle of Lucozade actually help sport-specific skills? After all, there are as many as 8,000 indigenous sports and sporting games on this planet – it is difficult to believe... Continue reading

A blog post written by Stephen from SC1 Sports Blog. This is the second in our two part feature (view Part One here) from SC1 Sports, bringing you 10 of the most outrageous and unusual sports played around the world. Concluding this feature, we bring you some sports consisting of holding your breath, blowing your breath, and even science explained through sport. This sport is common in Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines and other countries in the Far East. It is basically foot-volleyball and translates in Thai and Malaysian as ‘kick woven ball’. A blog post written by Stephen from SC1 Sports Blog. Today saw a lot of the Premiership teams put through their paces back at their training grounds as the first day of pre-season began. Being an #LFC fan, I was eager to check up on my teams progress on their first day, and also to see what kind of shape Big Andy Carroll was in after his Ibiza and ‘Glasto’ adventures. Apart from the excitement of Christian Poulsen and Paul Konchesky being back at Melwood, I noticed each player wearing a black bra-type bib. So what is GP Sports? According... Continue reading

Toggle Commented Jul 2, 2011 on Innovation Stealing -Plse RT at Making MatchMedia!
My concerns are forever growing about so called 'Innovation Competitions' this morning I and MatchMedia have entered the rather cool 'Pepsi10' competition. After having completed all their T&Cs they ask me -without any kind of NDA- to submit every shred not just of my idea/ideas but also funders, business plans and current success. This is all fine, but the site is not secure -it has no encryption, they have not told me what they will do with my Innovations and my Ideas, they have not told me -who exactly is going to read, use and indeed possibly steal my ideas.... Whilst Steve has opted to create a video to inspire David Haye, I have taken the opposite approach and am hoping that Klitschko can raise his game enough to knock some manners and sense into the English man. Continue reading

Each week SC1 Sports will bring you a video of what we believe is sporting excellence. #RaiseYourGame will display an athlete, or team, who has stepped up to the plate and delivered the goods when they needed it most. Can David Haye raise his game to defeat Wladimir Klitschko in... Continue reading

The folks at the #Tennis #USOpen -must be a total pack of 'Dick Knobs' as they tweeted and FBed me to participate, share, watch, win and other shit like that in their Poxy US Open (not the proper one which is owned by the Northern Irish Men #Rory and #Gmac) -no the awful one played in #FlushingMeadows at the end of the Summer. They directed me (@internetSense) to visit their Facebook Page http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23FollowMeToTheUSOpen which like a 'Lap Dog' I did. You see I fancied a nice trip to the States with My family (all tennis players) to play on the... Continue reading

A blog post written by Conán from SC1 Sports Blog. When it comes to dishing out criticism, I’m right up there with the most controversial of sports fans. Show me the perfect player and I’ll point out the most dramatic flaw. My own blunt self-analyses have, in my biased opinion, improved my performances on and off the field and they have also given me a green light to suggest that it’s okay that I nit-pick at other sportspeople’s contributions – especially those lauded as the greatest talents of their generation (or even further back). My critique habits had gotten so... Continue reading

For the last 4 years now, one of the most frequently asked football questions is generally: Messi or Ronaldo? (Well, that and "Why Emile Heskey?") I, personally, have always sided with the former United powerhouse after watching him make mince meat out of the Premier League for 6 seasons. People... Continue reading
