What's new now! Every week it seems there is something being said or reported about the housing market. For good reason, since consumer spending is the "fuel" of our economy by around 70%. Obviously, if consumers are not out there spending money we are a far cry from a recovery. Below, a few quotes I came across over the weekend. Tax Credit Update- plus GFE and HUD1 Changes will affect you! As we approach February, the deadline for using the tax credit is closer. you must have an executed contract by April 30th and close by June 1st. If you want to use the credit on 2009 tax return, see the link I added below that directly take you the IRS site with accurate information. http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=204671,00.html Wanting to buy a Foreclosure or Short Sale, you should plan on 45-60 days at least to close, We will be having another wave of foreclosures. Time for a yearly review of home sales for the main DFW area cities. So, how was our market in North Dallas, Fort Worth and NE Tarrant County and Denton County? Our average home sales price was 96.6% of list value and average days on market was 79. When you look at the rest of the country, we are fortunate. Trends for 2010? The extension of the tax credit plus the addition of the up to $6500 for non first ime buyers is definitely worth thinking about regarding buying a home before June 1st. Wow, Just listened to a terrific and informative web presentation about our DFW- Dallas market, appraisal values, mortgage availablity and how this is the best time and place to buy a home, especially in the luxury home market. In a nut shell, if you are in the market to buy a home in Dallas DFW, inventory is still high in the luxury market, prices are lower than anytime in our area, values are lower, you could not buy the lot and build the home for less than you would pay for the existing home with all the amenties already in...
