That's a really neat desk, Louise! Mine is pretty organised but not entirely clear. I like to have current projects in clear plastic wallets that I can glance at quickly, remind myself what's there and reorganise as necessary. I agree with you about turning off or minimising applications when I'm trying to write. But one thing I can't cope with is music. I need quiet and if possible no-one in the room. There's a cafe above my office and if it's busy I have noise-cancelling headphones. I've even been known to tick off people who stand outside my door talking on their phones, or leave barking dogs tied up outside! It's always been like that for me - the only way I could do my homework as a teenager was in silence alone in my bedroom!
