I even made it through a whole hour at Starbucks with just a bottle of water and a banana. I had a salad for lunch, multiple liters of water, a soy milk smoothie, and broccoli + boy scout potatoes for dinner. I'm not hungry but I have a caffeine headache for sure. I also ran 4 miles today. It wasn't pretty but I did it. LOL! Continue reading

No, not from heroin, though from something just as addictive...caffeine! And sugar. Carbs..meat. I've been stuck at 37 lbs lost for about a month and a half. I feel like I need something to break through this plateau so in addition to running every day this week, I will be foregoing sugar, wheat, caffeine and nearly everything that's good about life. Basically, I'll be eating a whole lot of this: Drinking a whole lot of this: And avoiding things like this: And: And my precious: I honestly am doing this not only for the sake of my waistline (which I... Have you ever had one of those days (weeks, months, years) where you just want to throw in the towel, run away from home, disappear? I'm having a month (year, 5 years) of that. My kids don't really respect me. There it is. At least that's how it feels I guess. I feel like I'm constantly yelling, reprimanding, punishing and generally being a tyrant because they're big old tyrants themselves. I feel like when I speak, no words come out and instead I'm drowning. I know these things pass. I know it's just a season, but I'm jealous. I'm jealous... Continue reading

St. Patrick's day is a big deal in our family. We've been picking up pots of gold, glittery shamrocks, fake tattoos and these cute head bands for weeks. St. Patrick's day is the day we normally do family portraits and we normally buy special jammies or shirts to commemorate each year. I'd say it's like Christmas around here...without the presents. This year, the leprechauns will be visiting again and turning the milk green...leaving glitter in strange places..and a pot of gold. You know, the usual! It's so exciting, it gives Josiah bug eyes just thinking about it! Do you guys... Continue reading

We saw Avatar in 3D last night. I know, I know, I'm late to the party. I'm SO glad we saw it though. The older I get, the more of a hippie I become, so the message was spot-on, heart wrenching and gut blasting for me. I was SO emotional the entire it was real! I recommend it highly...even for the non-hippies :) Continue reading

I have quite a few little obsessions lately, here are a few: 1) Hair Bows! I only have 3 so far in my collection...but with this tutorial from Elsie Flannigan, I see more gracing my hair in the future! Here are mine: I have a headband... A big bow clip and a little plaid set of baby bows here are some inspiring ones from the web: all via weheartit 2. Pink Stars - I've been obsessed with pink stars for more than 10 I guess it's not a new obsession..I have a pink star tattooed on my back and... Continue reading

I'm not going to apologize! I won't make excuses or try to do better. It is what it is and sometimes I won't blog for a week because life is crazy and that's no big deal. Really! I started back to school this week, Patrick started school for the first time, we had a birthday and a Ball at the church this week and that's not even including the hurricane like weather, work and every day stuff. We're adjusting. I did manage to keep up with my p365 photos, so score one for me! Let's see...where did we leave off..oh... Continue reading

Alas, I have to go back to school starting Tuesday. It's bittersweet, I enjoy having some downtime for once, but I'm excited to start my new classes! I'm almost done with my AA in Graphic Illustration and all that's left is 6 art classes. This semester I'll be taking 4 of those 6 classes: Color Theory, Visual Communications, Drawing II and Digital Imaging. I'm kind of excited because for once, every single class can be applied to my work, which makes it feel all the more worthwhile! On this last day of vacation, I'll be preparing to deal with my... So I made it through a whole day of this yesterday without falling once!! Not bad for the first time in 10 years! But man oh man I'm FEELING it today! Here's some other shots of our trip yesterday. It was SO nice on the mountain! I'd forgotten how much snowboarding makes me happy (and terrifies me). And since Patrick and I are both college students, on Friday at the resort we went to the lift tickets are only $15! Can't beat that with a stick! Here's my p365 picture from yesterday too: A view from the top of the... Continue reading

Well, I'm off to go snowboarding tomorrow with my honey! I gifted him with the trip for Christmas and the day is finally here! I haven't been snowboarding in a good 10 years so I'll probably be concentrating on not breaking anything! before I go though, I wanted to catch up on my p365 posts! I've completed my second full week and I'm still really enjoying it! Josiah doing what he does best, zoning out in the morning to the Wii... Karsten doing the *hated* homework from school at the kids' new art desk. Homework is *always* a struggle. Already!... Continue reading

Well today was one of those slow, rainy days in the Reed household. I did some scrapping, some cleaning, no working because apparently I have no design mojo. At least the house is clean! I need to do some serious stock up shopping next week. I hate when I feel like Old Mother Hubbard, haha. I knew it was going to rain today, so yesterday we got out and took advantage of the *cold but at least not rainy* weather. I was feeling in high spirits so I decided to do an action shot for my Mug Shot Monday. I... Continue reading

Yesterday was Studly Sunday and I'm happy to report that my Studly husband has decided to become even studlier and quit smoking! He decided this completely out of the blue Saturday night when I was in bed so I woke up to a smoke-free husband. He normally is UNBEARABLE when he's quitting smoking. So much so that I beg him to go have a smoke for God's sake! But Sunday I was so impressed! Instead of spending the day in bed, he actually got up and went to church with me, he was in pretty good spirits all day and... Continue reading

Well, my children have to be the luckiest around town. Josiah's birthday extravaganza lasted from Wednesday to Sunday! Which of course left me with very little time to breathe, let alone work, cook, clean, scrap or blog! So today I'll play a little catch up! Saturday was Skinny Saturday of course, with my p365 project and I finally got over the hump of not losing weight for 2 months (thanks in part to Heidi (scrappurple) who has been making me walk with her and get out) and I lost 4 lbs in one week! I've lost 32.4 lbs now and... Continue reading

The themes help sooooo much!! I made it through a WHOLE week of P365 and after I finished my work last night I updated all seven of my p365 Layouts. I'm doing one layout per subject rather than one per week, that way, with the people shots, I can see the change in everyone all laid out in one layout! Here is yesterday's photo for This Thursday. This Thursday I'm all focused on the computer, trying to get work done. It seems like all I ever do is work lately, and on two computers at that! I can't wait until... Continue reading

Phew! No post yesterday because I was spending it with my brand new FOUR year old! LOL We did all the things four year olds love to do, we had doughnuts for breakfast: We went to the mall, parked on the TOP of the parking garage and Josiah pretended we snuck in and out like bandits. We had lunch at McDonalds and played in the play area at the mall. Then we came home and he played the Wii while I figured out how to make purple cupcakes. Not PASTEL purple, but real the creepy purple dinosaur on TV.... Continue reading

ONE DAY! Before my 3 year old is 4!! :( waaaaah! Today happens to be Two of Two Tuesday..Josiah being my second child and all so I was inspired to capture his last day of being three: Josiah at three. He never really hit the Terrible Twos, it was all about the Terrible Threes. At three, Josiah was headstrong, stubborn, a bit whiny, and incredibly loving, artistic, full of energy and spunk. Always coloring, playing video games, building cities with blocks and lincoln logs, and chasing after his brother of course. He went from learning how to pedal a bike... Continue reading

Eee! I'm excited! I finished my first sewing project ever! I can't sew. LOL! I made pajamas for the kiddos. with some cool space monkey fabric, which is perfect for them (my little alien monkeys). What's funny is that they are soo excited about it. It's funny what can make them happy. The pants ended up being pretty easy, but wow, shirts are a whole 'nother league. My mama ended up helping me a lot, which is ok, but the next pair I'm doing all on my lonesome. I had coffee with another digiscrapper this morning, miss Heidi (scrappurple) herself!... Today we went to church. We're attending a new church for the last 3 weeks that I just love. We had a guest pastor from Corpus Christie, Texas today and something he said just socked me in the gut with its truth. He was talking about how we all beg for Miracles from God. How we say, God please, just bless my business, bless me financially, bless me with weight loss...bless me, please! We can all relate to this I think but what he said that struck me so hard was this: God doesn't perform miracles for things we can... Continue reading

Well here we are, January 2nd. Saturdays are the days I go to Weight Watchers, thus Skinny Saturdays. I really really want to lose 25 more pounds this year before summer so I figured keeping track of my progress with p365 will help me to stay on track. I've already lost 28.4 lbs as of this morning. On December 4th I was down 28.2 so I've stayed stagnant for a month which I'm actually proud of considering it was Christmas. But now it's time to get back on board! I admit, the slow progress since around Thanksgiving is somewhat frustrating,... Continue reading
