Honestly, this is what SW Houston needed, an upscale place that you can go and relax and share a good time with friends. The ambiance of Tobin's Lounge is exotic. Low lights and dark corners. Subtle colors and artsy, it makes you feel relaxed. The shadow bar changes colors every 30 seconds or so and the bartenders put on a pretty good bottle flipping and tossing show. The Martini menu is excellent, drinks are a little on the weak side, but good nonetheless. Prices are excellent averaging from 8-9 dollars a drink, and beer from 3-5 dollars a bottle. The... I'm proud to join my brothers DJ Geraldo (La Mega 101) and Jose Abreu (Owner Of Mamajuanas Sports Bar) and the rest of the Dominican community in Houston this Sunday in a fund raiser for the Earthquake Victims in Haiti. A Domino tournament with a $10.00 donation per game will be held. Every single cent collected will go to the Red Cross. Canned food, clothes and water will also be collected. Something about sitting in the dentist waiting area, listening to the polished steel drills digging deep into the hard enamel of a tooth and the vacuum suck bloody, tartar and calcium filled saliva out of a numbed mouth that causes a hightened feeling of uneasiness in me. Why does visiting the dentist cause such anxiety to me, I've never had a cavity, although I know smoking has taking a toll on my pearly whites, as they no longer have the luster of 15 years past.
