This should be the theme song to my life. :P

I have always told my sons, "I love you, but I have to raise you so other people will like you." Be kind. Be polite. It's a lot less work and trouble to be nice than it is to be mean.

I agree, that is going to be my Christmas card this year. There's enough Trek and gaming geeks in our family to appreciate the best picture of Wil Wheaton EVER! :D

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find twenty-eleven-dozen versions of the name Wil Wheaton or Wesley Crusher on characters in STO. And ships too. USS Wil, USS Wheaton, USS Wesley, USS WFS, etc. You can tell this will most assuredly happen based on how many of the STO forum handles are versions of canon character and ship names.

I know how you feel. My parents spent a lot of time and money on math tutors, to no avail. My brain just goes into pause mode or something. I can balance a checkbook but don't ask me to double a recipe because I can't do the fractions. In college, I wrote a thesis on "Einstein's Special and General Theories of Relativity as Shown in Three Works of Science Fiction." Meaning, I totally understood Relativity and could write a thesis on it's use in a literary context, but I could never, ever in my wildest dreams do the math. I even kept the note card the physics professor made for me so I could remember the facts of time dilation. It had squiggles and Windtalker code and hieroglyphics and magical runes on it. I swear.

I finally gave up on Rapidshare. It just kept telling me there were no free slots available, to try again later -or- go premium. After an hour of that, I went to Megauploads, waited about 30 seconds for the free download button to pop up and got my free pdf. *reading now*

My son and another soldier were having dinner at a nice seafood restaurant. When they went up to pay for their meal, the hostess told them another patron had already paid for them, as a way of saying thank you. I thought that was a very nice and thoughtful gesture.
