I have a very important question for everyone attending JoCo Cruise Crazy 2.
Saturday, I'm heading down to America's Wang to get on a boat, because JoCoCruseCrazy 2: Cruise Crazier is setting sail on Sunday. I hope that it lives up to this video that one of the cruisers (who named themselves Sea Monkeys) created: I know, right? Check out the video he made last year, bas...
BUGREPORT
*You knew wHere you stood with everyone in the city,
Short Fiction: 239 Sycamore St.
While walking through my neighborhood yesterday, I wondered what actually went on behind those manicured lawns and drawn curtains. I wondered how much I really knew my neighbors. This is what my brain spat out: Ian missed living in a city that didn’t keep any secrets from him, where everything ...
@wilw
i liked that ep very much as well, & also haven't seen it almost as long (oy vey!)
minor error in the text that needs fixing:
"but when I the picture resolved itself,"
the one with the Nanites
I ended up watching Evolution on WGN late last night. I hadn't seen it since it first aired, so I'd forgotten that it was more commonly known to me as "the one with the Nanites." When I see TNG on the guide, I usually click over and watch for a second before I go back to watching NHL on the Fly,...
i'm late finishing up some time-critical work of my own here, so i'll try & keep this shot & in point form:
1. i had fun, way to pad out the season with a surprise clips show. definitely rambling, but enjoyable.
2. have you considered doing a hentai manga about robot wil wheaton & meatsack wil wheaton & his dick? seriously, HUGE hit best-seller there...
3. i was going to suggest approx the same idea as Danyiel, but she beat me to it, so: i formally second the motion! cast, crew, writers, anybody who was involved in the show, has something interesting to say & that you can drag into your basement, drug, record, & release without getting arrested/indicted/convicted.
i can imagine how much fun it must be for you, going over the old episodes of TNG with some of the people you worked with on the show, & i hope it makes for new happy memories as well. IF you can get quotes, or commentary from them, without completely annoying the hell out of them, it would be really fun to hear from them out here in TV-land too.
3. ...strike that, i already did #3.,so...
4. was wondering if anybody has played around with adding the dotf/dotfc material to TNG episodes in something like DVD commentary track style?
it might be fun to play around with, even if it has to stay unofficial & non-commercial
(one way of not getting sued: record/edit the dotfc stuff as a standalone audio(/video?) track, & just make it easy for people to synch it up with the TNG episodes; kind of like that thing with the wizard of Oz/Dark Side of the Moon (god, i hope i'm remembering the right album/band here; 5 am no sleep & a deadline in 3 hours! :( ))
5. please fix the broken link in your "get excited & make stuff" blogpost. i'm getting ready to quote paraphrase captain chode, from the pilot ep. of tripping the rift, in the opening dialogue with his chief engineer...
captain chode, while beating his robotic chief engineer with a pipewrench: "just fix the f****** hyperlink!"
& thanks, for an enjoyable early-morning diversion; you're not as good as coffee, but you are "acceptable", as an alternative, when the coffee runs out.

Memories of the Futurecast Episode 13: The [Worst | Best]. Episode. Ever.
Holy crap! It's time for Memories of the Futurecast. Memories of the Future, Volume One, covers the first 13 episodes of TNG, so each week, I'm choosing something from one episode, and performing an excerpt for you. It will mostly be from the synopses, which is where I think the real humor of th...

apropos:
the link you put @ "...she wrote [POD: If you're not Warren Ellis], which I can't really..." is not working for me. it reads as "http:///"; that's after testing it on 2 different web browsers.
i just skimmed through the whole comments list & nobody seems to have caught the problem as of ....now (sry if i missed it somewhere in previous comments); thought you might want to know.
since i'm nagging you a lot, over a very brief time commenting here; i just want you to know, i love you man! ^__^
your underwear scene in "stand by me" was AWESOME! & the only thing i didn't like abt wesley crusher was that he didn't show nearly enough skin! they should have found a way to write in scenes where he was wearing ONLY a sweater, & then took the sweater off... i really feel it would have increased the character's popularity tremendously.
(feel free to delete this comment (& the previous draft even more so), if it's not good for at least minimum lol-age; the main purpose was to let you know about the link problem, & to bitch @ you about it)
bye wil

"quirks & quarks" (no "the") isn't bad either, it's a cbc radio easy-listening science show.
or, if you're feeling all cultural, try "saturday afternoon at the opera" (sato) on cbc radio 2; a couple of weeks ago, they broadcast "the fly"
(in soprano): be afraid, be VERY afraid!

hey wil, just a small heads up, but i think you might have forgotten to mention the latest episode of dotfc in your main blog? actually, i'm pretty sure you forgot to mention it there, because i've been WAITING for it, you fool! :P
wesley crusher would NEVER make a mistake like that... -__-

@wilw:
hey Will, i took this photo yesterday (2009.11.11; remembrance day in canada) & i'm kind of pleased with how it turned out. not sure how long that feeling will last; give me some time & i'm sure to find things that i don't like about it... but right now, i'm in the all-excited "i-made-this-&-ain't-it-cool!" phase.
since i don't have many friends, & i'm running out of people to bug, i'm like, totally spamming u with this, dude!

the location is the John McCrae House, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada (birthplace & memorial).
he's the guy who wrote this:
In Flanders fields the poppies grow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
— Lt.-Col. John McCrae (1872 - 1918)
hope you enjoy the photo anyway; i like your blog, though i don't post comments usually
(btw when is the next dotfc ep. coming?)
you can relax on both sides of the tracks
I've struggled for most of the morning to come up with some profound and lyrical way to mark the day, but the words I usually find so easy to command just refuse to reveal themselves ... so I'm just going to keep this post simple and to the point: Thank you, veterans, for your service.
